I feel like I'm missing something. Theon came to The Shade without Nell. It doesn't explain why or what happened. Not unless it was explained when the dragons first came to The Shade. I was really hoping something bad would happen to Michelle! She got off way to easy!

Great ending

This part of the story starts off with Nell being abandoned by Theon. She is a bit crazed, but Nell is an amazing woman. She continues to be open to friendships with the ice dragons and even the harpies. This is what will make her a great queen. Theon was so smart to follow his heart because the two of them are great together and their ideas for the future are wonderful. I really enjoyed the ending.

Well, I did love this mini series- but... The ending was kind of bland... What happened with the oracles prophecy? From the ending of the second book? I mean, it didn't even seem to play any part at all. I was left kinda confused...

Magnificent! Bella Forrest has once again stunned her fans with A Shade of Dragon, her second mesmerizing trilogy spin-off of her bestselling series, A Shade of Vampire. After reading the first book in Forrest's A Shade of Vampire series several years ago, I joined millions of fellow readers worldwide and became a diehard fan and official Shaddict who now eagerly await each new release. This release is the eagerly anticipated third and final book of Forrest's A Shade of Dragon trilogy and what a wonderful conclusion it is! The dragons of the Hearthlands were first introduced in Rose and Caleb's story, A Shade of Vampire 13: A Turn of Tides and became popular recurring secondary characters in the series. As a result of the mass popularity of the dragons, Ms Forrest paid homage to her readers by giving us A Shade of Dragon, proving once more that she always listens to her fans. The story is exceptionally well crafted and well written in the first person with multiple points of view. I was immediately drawn into the story and by the end of the first two chapters, I was totally smitten which was largely due, in part, to the intriguing, captivating and well developed cast of supernatural and human characters. I fell in love with the two protagonists from different realms, young fire dragon Theon Aena, Prince of the Hearthlands, and Penelope "Nell" O'Hara, nineteen year old human college student. Each started the adventure as young, inexperienced and somewhat naive in the ways of the world but quickly matured to become strong, intelligent adults in the face of adversity and tragedy, all the while becoming a courageous and wise hero and heroine worthy of the title King and Queen. Even the villains of the story were engaging, warranting quite a bit of dislike from the reader. Yes, I'm guilty of shaking my fists and totally hating the bad guys of this story. But isn't that the indication of a great book? We become so involved in the story, get so caught up in the lives of the characters that we rail against any injustice, all the while cursing the villains. Isn't that the true definition of entertainment? At least it is for me and I was most assuredly entertained. If you love young adult fantasy filled to the brim with supernatural creatures, mystifying magic, spine-tingling adventure, heart-stopping danger, heartbreaking angst and heartwarming romance, then you will surely love this story. Follow Prince Theon Aena and Nell O'Hara as they search for love and happiness only to discover that sometimes, one's destiny is not written in the stars and more importantly, our fate is only what we make it. What did I like about this book and this series? Everything! What didn't I like? Not a darn thing! Would I recommend it? You bet and I am! Will I read this author again? You better believe it, just as soon as she releases her next book! This book does not contain graphic language or explicit sex. Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

i will miss this triology extremely well written story very interesting.. so theon an his family go head to hea with the ice dragons and he finds his brother... there is a marriage with an ice dragon ... a new king and queen are crowned...gotta have a different opinion of the harpies...gotta say michelle gets everything she deserves....sometimes it is so hard to do these reviews because you do not want to give away the story however to all bella fans this is a great book and to all new people PLEASE READ BELLA'S BOOK START FROM THE START IF YOU CAN I PROMISE YOU WILL NOT REGRET ANY OF HER STORIES i have to admit this whole story is addictive every time a new book comes out have to read it at once so i don't put it down from beginning to the en regardless of hour of day great job bella

Bella Forest has done it again! I love these books. Nell and Theon's story is inspiring. They finally choose to live their life and follow their own path instead of following the oracle who is telling them they are not destined to be together. Nell does whatever she can to help Theon on the inside with the ice dragons while Theon is on the outside trying to figure out a way to infiltrate and drive the ice dragons out of the castle and reclaim the Hearthlands.
I had a hard time wanting to read A Shade of Dragon series just because I want to know what happens with Ben and River in their story but I gave in while I was awaiting the release of the rest of their story and read A Shade of Dragon and Bella did not let me down. I could not put the books down.

Only a tiny spoiler at the end...
I enjoyed this ending, or beginning, to Nell and Theon's story. There were grammatical errors here and there that made it a little less enjoyable, and sometimes the story seemed juvenile, but it also stirred a lot of emotion with wonderful momentum to the story.

It does seem odd that it should be happening in the period when Theon leaves The Shade, and I almost wished they had brought some small mention or interaction from the vampires to The Hearthlands. The mention of the ghouls, YouTube footage, and the whirlpool/portal were the only things that really alluded to the parallel/previous story.

I would love to read more about Lethe and the union of the fire and ice kingdoms.

I'm a fan of Bella's

I've fallen in love with Bella's books the moment I read A Shade of Vampire. I enjoyed this spin off but for this to be the ending it felt rushed. ::spoilers:: The majority of the book was about the war. I would have loved to read more about what happened after the war, did Nell eventually conceive, what happened with Lethe. So many questions left unanswered I feel like it's not over. Other than that I enjoyed it and I read the entire book in one sitting that's how good it was I couldn't put it down.

I thought this was a great ending to the story of Theon and Nell. I think that it shows how to make your own destiny and not to rely on what people are telling you from outside, and I'm happy they ended up together. I seriously dislike Michelle and I hope that she gets worse things coming to her, but honestly her personality will probably give her that in spades. I really liked the world the dragons came from and I thought the story was very captivating. I wish there were more because I enjoy these more than the vampire books.

Good wrap up to the trilogy

This third installment of the series offers much more, has more plot development and better pacing. The wrap up of the war between the fire and ice dragons is the main element of this book as well as the sacrifices one is willing to make for Love and to be true to oneself. This was the best of the three books by far. I'd have been much happier if one of the villains got much more of a comeuppance (no specifics...no spoilers!) but that's not a major downfall.

I loved this series. Bella Forrest has a way with her books, I'm a huge fan of the shade of vampire series and this shade of dragon was truly amazing! I loved how we got to know Theon as we hardly knew much about him. I loved knowing about the dragons and that there could be a story made outside of the shade that was originally from the shade. Just as good as the other two shade of dragon

The book was a good read,a little slow in places,but overall just as good as the other two,I wood recommend the whole a shade of vampire and dragons to anybody who likes a supernatural theam and that does like a long series,I'm a little sad that a shade of dragons has now come to an end,but I'm extremely existed to read the next and last a shade of vampire,the whole series has been fantastic I've loved reading them all so far.

Brilliant book

Although this was an amazing book I felt there was some unanswered questions that I personally would have liked answered ... Maybe I just hate to see it end ...would have been nice to see them prosper once they had built the heathlands and see how the dragons integrate back together . but I do love how. Certain characters can't what's coming to them, and love the way Nell is so strong and steadfast in what she sees as true and just

The final assault for power over the island is fought. Nell and The on will face some very real challenges as well as put and end to some things in Dragon life to reach a long awaited solution

Loved this trilogy. I'm so sad this is the last book I wish there was one more but then it wouldn't be called a trilogy haha. This book was well written just like all the other books Bella Forrest has written, I'm glad Theon and Nell got there ending they deserved, I still wish there was one more book for them though (hint hint lol).

The best part was the war and the landscape, Theon and Nell's love store was sooooo boring to me! This was the final book in this series. The story was ok, a bit predictable, but easy to read. The protagonist, Nell, suddenly became wiser toward the end of the book. Up until then she made bad decisions that lacked integrity and wisdom. The book left me doubting the maturity of the writer. I doubt I will read more books by Bella.

Great characters, great story. I was so worried at the end of book two that this might have an ending which would leave me disappointed and frustrated (like some other authors I'veread). I'm relieved to say that was not the case. Not completely HEA in all aspects, but HEA nonetheless.

Great book, at first it was confusing because Kiev's story looped back where as the dragons kind of started at the Shade. But hopefully Bella will merge to two storylines beautifully.
