Whoever looks upon their nightly figures will meet with certain death. Nephilim - a unique race that turns male by day and female by night. Labeled as "Gods of Death" it is said that whoever glances upon their bewitching night beauty will meet with certain death. Unfortunately for the playboy imperial soldier Gai, such an occurrence earns him a beautiful angel of death named Abel hellbent on taking his life. Then again, having a beautiful girl/boy obsessively chasing after him may not be so bad. Will Gai's expert playboy skills be able to conquer the beautiful Nephilim. Or will Abel succeed in killing the man who saw her true form?
Better than i expected. All the reviews seemed to hint that it was a dumb girl/strong guy kinda manga, which it is, but still I enjoyed it. It is funny and the art is good. The whole nephilim curse is really interesting.
This book is all about rape. Rape, rape, rape. I know I'm a crotchety old cynic, but I went into this book really wanting to enjoy it because I love a good gender-bending story. I'm also fascinated by the mythological nephilim, which unfortunately do not appear in this story. I just can't get over the fact that the male lead sexually assaults the female protagonist over and over again throughout this volume. She clearly says "No' and "stop" over and over again, but he doesn't care because he considers himself a romantic. And then there's the time when he "kissed you and touched you all over" (yes, an actual quote from the book) while she is unconscious. This very panel continues with "I've already seen you naked. What's the big deal?" "It wasn't my choice!" Yuck. I guess this book is for people who enjoy rape fantasies.
I did end up finishing the book, as gross as it was, because it was pretty short and easy to read quickly. Even if you set the rape to the side, though, the book wasn't very engaging and the writing/translation isn't great. All in all not really worth picking up.
Very short and fast paced. You turn a few pages and days go by in this storyline. The male by day female by night kind of gave me a vibes like the anime maze megaburst space. I wasn't super into it at first but by the end I definitely was ready to pick up the next volume.
It was short, but unless it's a short series, things happened -way- too fast. I didn't start reading manga until recently and this was put out in the early 2000's, so maybe that was normal for then. But I like the pacing of things these days when it takes time instead of insta-love type stuff.
BESM super cute manga in which a royal guardsman on a quest to rescue the king's concubine (and also incidentally his mother) catches sight of a nephilim in her female form bathing. Nephilim have their true super beautiful form at night but change gender during daylight hours where they are also sterile. They are known as death bringers because they must kill anyone who see's their true form or they will die themselves. Abel should by rights kill Guy but finds him/herself falling for the noble guard and ends up helping him on his quest.
Sadly only two volimes of this on going series ever got published. A shame because its a lovely story with very pretty artwork.

This was a cute story. It is about a unique race of people that the gender changes at night. If someone sees their true gender then they are going to die soon. There is a soldier (Guy) that accidently sees this beautiful girl at night only to realize he is a boy during the day (Abel). Throughout most of the book it has Abel threatening to kill Guy. But for some reason he keeps following Guy. He is always telling him he will be the one to kill him. This story makes me laugh. To bad it is only 2 volume longs.
