Debra Martinez doesn’t believe in happy endings. Even if she did, she knows she doesn’t deserve one, not after betraying her best friend in the worst possible way. Eight years into single parenthood, her life is a grind of exhaustion in between spikes of fatigue—an endless struggle to make ends meet—until Sean Orr, Havre de Grace’s newest firefighter, shows her and her son, Aidan, a new and beautiful kind of “normal.”

But the happiness can’t last—not for Sean who is on the run from his past. When it catches up with him, will it bring Debra’s fragile normality crashing down around her, or will she find the strength to define her own happy ending?

Jade Kerrion, an award-winning author, got her start in fan fiction. She developed a loyal reader base with her fan fiction series based on the MMORPG Guild Wars. She was accused of keeping her readers up at night, distracting them from work, housework, homework, and (far worse), from actually playing Guild Wars.

And then she wondered why just screw up the time management skills of gamers? Why not aspire to screw everyone else up too? So here she is, writing books that aspire to keep you from doing anything else useful with your time.

She lives in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with her wonderfully supportive husband and her two young sons, Saint and Angel, (no, those aren't their real names, but they are like saints and angels, except when they're not.)

The characters are great, but I expect more accuracy and editing from a Jade Kerrion book. Harve de Grace Maryland is really well described; its charm is capture very well. However, it is over 5 hours to Elkins WV.

Jade Kerrion has written a great story that shows the determination of a woman who was raised by a mother who was more interested in drugs and prostituting herself than her daughter, and how she rose above it to raise her son on her own and make a life for the two of them.

Having fallen for the wrong boy, the town's rich son, she was weak one time and became pregnant. That's when she left home and went out on her own. She worked hard and bought a home for the two of them. Then she meets Sean, the new firefighter. They both have pasts they are trying to forget but feel a draw to each other.

Follow as their lives grow together and they each help the other face their past to have a future.

This is a great love story with a HEA ending.

I am a recent fan of Jade Kerrion and this book hit the mark on all levels for me. Having become pregnant by the town golden boy, Debra has become known as “the other woman”. Due to circumstances, she has remained in town, working to support herself and her son Aiden. She meets handsome young firefighter Sean, who has secrets of his own. She fights her attraction to Sean as he is younger than her (but not by too much, really), but he has a maturity beyond his age that makes them a great fit for each other.

Can both Debra and Sean finally put their pasts behind them to reach for a brighter future together? This is a great story with well-defined characters. If you like books that make you feel everything – laughter, anger, and tears – this one is for you.

This book in the series focuses on Debra Martinez, "the other woman". I have loved all the books, including this one.Debra made a mistake 8 years ago and she lost her best friend. She is a single mother raising 8 year old Aiden with little money since his father doesn't help out. She meets Sean Orr, Havre De Grace's newest firefighter. Aiden brings a cute puppy home even though his mom had said no pets since she can barely afford to feed them. Sean offers to help out. Sean and Debra spend a lot of time together and a relationship develops. Sean doesn't want Debra to find out the past he is running from. Can people with bad pasts make a good future?

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book. It held your interest from the time you started til you finished. It is one of those books that you cook dinner with it in your hand because it is too good to put down.

Debra works at a cafe and serves her customers all day. She has made some mistakes in her past that her town still holds against her or at least she thinks they do. She has an 8 year old son and he has a few behavioral issues which are typical of some children.

The book will make you smile, you will feel like crying and will make you happy as well. I really enjoyed reading this book and think that you will too.

I really liked this one. Debra is living in the small town she grew up in and because of a one night stand has been branded The Other Women.
But she finds happiness with a younger man. A Cougar Story!
I Highly Recommend this book.

Heartwarming romance that left me loving Debra and admiring the strong person she was. Her drive to learn to trust again and to love was inspiring. Sean and Aiden were perfect too! Book provided by author in exchange for an honest review.

I fell in love with the first book in this series so I'm quite desperate for the other succeeding books to be in my hands already and let me read it. This is the second book that I have in this series and I'm so excited. But me, with all my expectations, started this book with anticipation but was not satisfied.
