Suddenly the Earth warms up from a long winter nap. Green appears all around. Nature comes alive and spring surprises us all as robins hatch and flowers bloom, beginning a new cycle of surprises.
Next in a series of season-related books, Walters and Nez explore the wonders of Spring as everything comes back to life and colors grow richer. Interactive questions for very young readers will teach them about growth and life cycles for animals.
This is a really lovely book for talking about spring. The illustrations are beautiful and it encourages the reader to talk/think "how many eggs [are there]" "what colours do you see" "tap each purple flower"
My only not-keen note is that there is no snow melting and all the messiness of that. This is very much a spring for areas of the world that get little (or no?) snow. There are a couple pages with rain and splashing in puddles. But no brown turning to green or snow disappearing or the transition from winter to spring. This book seems to start mostly in the peak of spring with flowers and plants in full bloom (though there is a page with some new green shoots coming up). Not bad, just not a book that could be a complete standalone for spring in many parts of the world.
