Who's Been Lovin You: A Southside Love Scandal

Rate this book
In a world full of deceit, who's to say that everything is what it seems? For every action there is a reaction no matter how much you try to detour from the truth. What happens in the dark will always come to light and that's a fact. Meet the twins Wynter, Summer, and their brother Shine as they take you on this emotional roller coaster of their young lives. The only thing that they'd known growing up was nothing more than what their naked eyes allowed them to see, and that was a loving close knit family... or was it? The day the twins witness a tragedy with their own eyes is the day that their lives would change forever. How could they value everything that they were taught by their loving parents growing up when it was all a lie in the first place? Watch what happens as they all try to cope with learning that everything they were supposed to stand for was damaged by the hidden truth. Love wasn't promised, loyalty had no name on it, and the biggest question was who's really loving you? Who's really down for who? One thing was for certain and two things were for sure... no matter what evil may come their way these are three siblings that were always gonna stick together even through the Summer, Winter, or barely shining.

Excellent read!

This was an excellent read. Summer and Wynter had the perfect names. Just like the seasons, they were total opposites. Their older brother Shine truly lived up to his name. He made sure that his sister's did indeed shine. These three went through tragedy at such a you age, but they didn't let it deter them from getting their education. This book is filled with a lot of heartache and pain and secrets that continue to be revealed. The more that you read, the better the story gets. I am on pins and needles waiting on part 2.

Good

This was a good book but the typos and grammatical errors kept me from giving it 5 stars. Some of the story was predictable but a good read nonetheless

I thought something was going to come out of Summer going to see Clyde but I was hoping that she caught that bug for being so stupid. The story itself was interesting however the father’s reasons for doing what he was doing was a bit much. I still felt like he had to have some interest in doing what he was doing for him to be doing it at all.

I was rooting for Cordell to win, he seemed like he was really holding it down and for Wynter to play him out like that was wrong. Not sure if I’ll read the next one but I wouldn’t pass it up either just to see what comes out of Clyde and the gang.

Let me begin this review off with a big loud WHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????????? Okay now that I have that out of my system, let me begin my review. Let's start with the siblings, Summer, Winter, and Shine. I knew that I was caught up the moment I read the saying that they would say to each other to express their feelings: "I love y'all. Even through the Summer, Wynter, or barely Shining." It may seem corny to others but that really did a number on my heartstrings not to mention the creativity of the author. The twin sisters Summer and Wynter really couldn't have been more like night and day if they truly tried. Summer was the more laid back of the two but at the end of the day, they had a bond that was unbreakable. They always had each others back no matter how difficult the situation they loved one another. This is very refreshing to read about when so many authors pit family against family and seemingly forget about the importance of familial bonds and loyalty. Shine their brother really was the definition of what every girl dreams a big brother would be. He cared for his sisters and was willing to put his own well-being in danger to ensure that his sisters didn't go lacking in any areas of their lives. The girls naivety was frustrating at times but I had to remind myself that they were young without the guidance of their mother so the decisions that they were making in many cases was a direct result of this void that fills a girls heart when they no longer have a mother with which to commiserate or discuss issues that they are facing. Cordell, Calvin, Shaw, Wesley, Big Clyde, Unique, Keisha aka Kalor, Dre, and Shon helped to round out the cast of characters. It was great to see brothers who genuinely loved and cared for each other and just like the girl's bond, they had each other's back. It was truly a genius twist of events the way the paternity turned out for Denim and Harlem(the names, by the way, I just absolutely LOVE!!!). Overall this was an excellent story. There were a few editing issues but they didn't detract from the overall tone or creativity of the writer. Ms. Shalaine really took her time and brought us the beginning, in my opinion, of a good series. I am definitely intrigued and anxious to see what she has up her sleeve for this eclectic cast. Kudos Ms. Shalaine don't keep us waiting too long!!!!

Definitely a must read!!!!

All I can say is that this book was really good the storyline was fabulous. This story held my interest from the beginning to the end. As I was reading this story I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. I don't want to give the story away but I must say that this is a story that will have you wanting more and it will definitely leave you speechless. I have read books by this author and I must say that she definitely writes some fantastic stories and she always have you all into the book that you can't put it down. I would definitely recommend this book to others. Can't wait for the next part.

Good read

Its true what they say keep your friends close and your enemies closer. Every time I thought I had these love triangles down it kept getting more and more scandalous. Hopefully in part 2 Summer and Wynter van get control of their lives. I can't wait to see how Big Clyde is going to react to everything.
