This series had everything... Dinosaurs Aliens Egyptian Mummies The Illuminati Ancient Viruses Government Conspiracies Darwinism Human experiments Kidnappings Awkward sex scenes.....
I was down for all these topics and 500 characters and it was kinda good but at the end of the day the last book was not able to tie all of this together. And that is why the last book is just one star. It was evidently painful that the author bit way more off than he could chew (I mean what does dinosaurs have to do with the Illuminati????) put I was rooting for the author to have an epic conclusion. But nope.
Same weaknesses as the first two books: hideous copy editing, including getting a character's name wrong, inconsistencies, too many POVs and story lines, poor formatting, and poor execution of some appealing plot lines. It does tie up most of the story lines but there are still unanswered questions. I was curious to see how Chase tied everything together so I read all three books but they were a disappointment, a mishmash with no clear thread tying everything together.
The entire trilogy could and should have been trimmed into one longish story. It would have benefited from a developmental editor trimming and tightening the story and it was in serious need of a copy editor and a proofreader.
I liked the first two books in the series. This one was laughably horrible. Not only the rampant spelling and grammatical errors already mentioned in someone else's review, along with the inexplicable marked out text that wasn't actually deleted. The editing was ridiculously bad. There were also rampant logical errors. I won't go look up the exact text, but they were along the lines of:
"Jeffery One was in the front seat while the Monkey Jeffery was asleep in the back". What?!? Jeffery One IS the monkey!!!
"They were all awake and outside the transport while the rest were still asleep inside". Whoa! That's a pretty good trick, even in an alternate reality.
Aubrey and Adriaan take their seats in the transport. Henry tells them, "after they discover nothing has changed, they won't need us". Then as Henry enters the transport he looks at them, saying nothing and takes his seat. Really...?!? Did nobody give this a read after you made major re-writes.
Then, just the utter unreal aspects of the story. I don't mean the SciFi fantasy aspects, I can deal with that. It's characters acting totally out of context or reacting to things in a totally unrealistic way. OK, and some of the SciFi parts are silly too. Really? They turn Karen into an orangutan, but are able to turn her back into a perfectly functioning human identical to her original nature? After you talk about the complexity of genetic engineering and how difficult every minor change can be? I mean, with the Monkey Jeffery, at least he went through the portal to be restored so I can accept that, but come on!
As another reviewer mentioned, please wait until your story is ready before subjecting the rest of us to its failings.
I wondered more than once if this series had a stealth alternative plot, while reading it, but, whether it did or not, you have GOT to read the whole series, especially this third installment. Is a craft paced ride, this tale of seemingly unrelated plots as they converge and move towards a surprising conclusion. The story relies heavily on science (biology, and includes the scientific references to break it up, of all kinds), international scientific collaboration, and the love of knowledge. And if you love all things dinosaur ... Yum!
Seriously tho', read it. I am avoiding spoilers so can't say much more, except I loved it.
I enjoyed all three books. Though this last one had a few parts that were a hard read for all the technical talk. Although necessary to understand what is going on, it makes it a long read in those sections. Otherwise, really enjoyed this book and the trilogy.
I thought this last book was also an intends page turned. It is an extremely exciting, good read. I have read all three and was never disappointed. My name is Linda C. Lettau
The best description for this trilogy is that it's just a mess. Wayyyy too many subplots and wayyyy too late in the story before they are tied together.
Part Sci fi, and a bit of conspiracy theories, along with a mad scientist
A little confusing with many characters. You need to read all 3 books to follow the plot. Part Sci fi, and a bit of conspiracy theories, along with a mad scientist.
I read all 3 of these books thinking it would get better. It didn't. Confusing gobbledygook! No rational way to make sense of this convoluted mess. Very glad that I read these for free on Kindle Unlimited.
I really liked the other two books in the series, by the time e I reached this one, however I got bored and quit reading it for awhile. So while good, just really long.
I found myself having a hard time putting this book down. The concept made this a book that keep me wondering what was going to happen next. This book tied up the series very well.

I started this a week ago and haven't been able to pick it back up. Maybe I will try again later but I just cannot get into the third book. I really don't care what happens to anyone in that story. :/ Kind of disappointed because I really enjoyed the first one, thought that the second one was ok and now cannot get past the first few chapters in the third.
Scientific discussion drags on page after page...way too many main characters and story branches. I struggled to finish ...and was not impressed with this set of books or the author. Just not for me
This series has some interesting and original ideas and could possibly be great with better story structure and better editing.
This book, 2.5 stars, wasn't as well organized as the others (which both needed work) and definitely needs additional edits. If I was the author I would keep working on it and release a better version. If that happens, I would be happy to reread it and upgrade my rating.
The ending wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and I'm glad I pushed through.
The first book was ok. But this one? Absolutely terrible. The book had static characters and there were way too many plot holes. For example, how did the government find a cure for the disease? That is not explained at the end of the book. Also, how on earth did the dinosaurs have to do with Egyptian mummies? Nothing is explained, and the book itself isn't ready to be published. Very disappointing.
This is very good too. I highly recommend that you read the first 2 books before this one. Think it would be too hard to follow if you don't and then there is always that they are wonderful books and must be read in order.
A disappointing, underwhelming and confusing mess. One star because I'm actually trying to be nice, one star because it started ok, and another star because at least it ended, sort of.
I read all three books in the span of a three day weekend early last month. Could not put them down! I enjoyed the diversity of the characters, and while I don't usually enjoy futuristic fiction, this series was the exception to the rule!
Although this book had several different and interesting premises, the story collapsed into too many stories, too many people and confusing scientific jargon. People die and then reappear with little discussion of how this happened. This is not a trilogy. None of the books can stand alone. The proofreading or lack of is quite evident in almost every chapter. I laughed at the use of "drug." "The dead body was drug into the woods." In parts of the U.S. "drug" is an acceptable, although substandard form of "dragged." It certainly does not belong in any publication. I finished the last book just to see how the author brought all the stories and characters together. I had no sense of a satisfactory conclusion. With at last seven separate stories and 71 characters (he lists them in the back of the book), I realized why I had trouble sometimes remembering who was who and in which story they belonged. However, I think Mr. B.C. Chase is a great storyteller. If only he had intertwined two stories or so, he would have had quite a number of novels which would have been enjoyable standing by themselves.
Meh. This book just kept getting more and more complex, so many characters and storylines. It's not really a surprise that the ending was confusing and so many loose ends were left-but it was unsatisfying. It took me a while to finish this last book in the trilogy because the storylines were just all over the place it really lost the enjoyment. It felt like a chore I had to complete after investing the time in the first two books.
This trilogy had a great idea.... but it didn't quite come together. The first book was slow the second book felt like filler, and the third book was rushed. There are so many characters and plot points it became a jumbled mess. There were also a lot of typos and strange wording chooses that made the kindle version difficult to read at times.
