Warning! This full-length BAD BOY ROMANCE novel features steamy sex, gripping action scenes, and a guaranteed happy ending! PUTTING UP A FIGHT contains strong scenes of sex and violence, and is meant for adult audiences.
It's a joke to refer to yourself as an author when you can't even match pronouns to subjects. The same person is referred to as "I" and "she" in the same sentence. Repeatedly. Details given are contradicted on the same page. The grammar is shoddy. The hero has none of the personality I expect to see in this genre. A total disappointment.
The editing was horrible, it seemed like it was written in third person and then hastily changed to first person while missing half of the words needing to be addressed. This made it jarring to read and often pulled me out of the story, diminishing my enjoyment of it.
This book was like watching paint dry very slow and can someone explain to me why the author would switch in the middle of a sentence from speaking as the main character to the third person. This book was like an 18 year old wrote it who was trying to be grown. Save your free money.
This book flips between first and third person in the same SENTENCE!! Many times! It is beyond distracting. The storyline was thin. Chapters were from both of the main character’s point of view —but did not seem to follow a pattern.
I liked this! I thought the set up of the story was really interesting. There just was something about this that lacked for me. I think part of it was the way Lucy intervened in Cain’s situation and the way that played out. It just felt reckless and silly. Up to that point I had really really loved it.
The plot to this was great and I see where the author was going, unfortunately it lacked extended details and there were parts where the author went from first person to third person in the same sentence.
“You’re my fighter. And I don’t want you any other way.”
“I loved feeing Cain’s grip on me, those fingers holding me tightly in place.”
Over all this is a great book and I would have given 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that a lot of the pronouns are not correct for the setting. It needs proof read and fixed.
This was a bit confusing to read and seemed like the author was flipping between first person and third person view. I liked the story line and the main characters were great though there could have been more chemistry written about them. It was a quick start relationship with a HEA ending.
Its not that exciting its predictable for the most part. The few steamy scenes are not bad but its mostly glossed over. Its a quick read but feels like it drags like it put multiple stories into one but rushed it.
I really appreciate the story and how it was written. He really put up a great fight. Lucy is a strong woman and she was willing to go all the way for love.
Brilliant book gripped from the start I absolutely loved it well written and a great cast of characters and story line loved it will read more from this author
I think the story line may have been there but it definitely needs to be proofread. I got to 30% and had to stop. It’s like the author had decided last minute to change the POV.
Cain was referred to as "that man" or " the fighter" it was very detached & unemotional when Lucy said this.
Also there was very little background story on Cain, it would have been nice to have a feel for this awkward, yet sweet man.
Also this book felt like it started in the middle of a story, with the lack of a true backstory for any of the characters. I guess it's seemed like a burger without a top bun.....
I loved how sweet Cain was with Lucy & it was funny how awkward he was with her roommate. You could tell her was sweet, he may have been a fighter but he wasn't mean. But how did he get where he was. Yeah I get the sick mom aspect but where is dad?? Is he dead, in jail, did he abandon his family....???
Now Lucy's roommate was hilarious & funny!!! Now that character was spot on, funny & overall the best & most well developed/ described character.
Would I recommend this book, yes BUT after its been edited (previously mentioned issues) & some of the characters are more developed.
I wanted to give 3 1/2 stars but you know... I really liked this book in the beginning but after there first date and then the ex shows up it felt like a different Author stepped in. A little childish. This book had so much potential. It wasn't bad just o.k. And I wanted to know why he was so shy around women. Wish the ending showed a much later time then the next day.
Grammar so bad!! Got on my nerves how the writing kept changing from 1st person to third person... Really frustrating. This book was so bad, and for me Lucy acted like a little girl and made me cringe nearly the whole way through this book. Won't be reading anymore from this author!
