I spent five hellish years in a constant state of fear, convinced that we were only a heartbeat away from being destroyed by a larger pack of shape shifters.

Just when it looked like we'd won, an even bigger group of thugs stepped in, and this time I ended up as one of the casualties.

I lost all of my memories, everything that made me the person I was back then, and became a stranger inside my own home, uncomfortable with everyone from my father to my boyfriend.

I thought Wyatt's arrival was the lifeline I'd been looking for, but I had no idea just how dangerous his secrets were.

My name is Jessica Engel and this is my story.

I've always liked Dean Murray's books, it always leaves me wanting more.
But I have to say, Jessica's story was kind of unexpected. How many bad things can she live through and still not have HEA!!!
Sometimes I wanted to smack her so she would wake up and get with program. I feel bad for her and the loss of her memory, but now, with her memory restored it's a game changer.
Now I have to wait who knows how long !!!!!

I can't believe I finished the 12th book, it went by to fast. I never want this series to end. I don't even know how many reviews I have written for this series, but if that's what it takes for them to keep coming I will keep writing these. It took me longer to read this book than usual because of school, but I loved that each time I had to put the book down it left me guessing what would happen next. Jessica has never really a lot of peoples' favorite but after this book I wouldn't be surprised if people love her now. She really does deserve to be happy after everything she has been through. I'm glad that I found out what Vincent tried to do to her way before Adri even showed up in Sanctuary. Wyatt and Jessica were almost as perfect for each other as Isaac and Jessica were for one another. It was such a surprise to find out that a very important person in the shape shifters history was still alive after all these years. The people we meet in Left help shape Jessica into something I certainly didn't expect. Everyone realizes she is no longer that scared teenager who was afraid of what Vincent and Brandon would've done to her in the first book if they got a hold of her. She is now one of the two strongest hybrid forms that we know of. Jessica came a long way and I believe she will keep growing into something Alec or the pack realized would have been possible for her. It was also a surprise when something very unexpected happened at the end with Alec and Adri. Well actually it wasn't unexpected if you read Marked, but I mean it was unexpected for Jessica to see that. I also like who showed up in the last chapter, because he did something none of us probably ever suspected he was going to do. I sort of wished he would've taken her so we could find out more about Puppeter and where he was. I know I am not going to get that lucky, but still it would've been cool just to fingd that kind of stuff out. Another thing that would have been cool to find out was who the old man is who has been helping practically everyone so far. Jessica made quite a bit of mistakes along the way of the series but everyone did. In this book I think she made the second biggest mistake so far. I never thought I would ever get to read the rest of this series but now that I have I never want to stop.

What a confused let down

I have faithfully followed this series and this book is pretty disappointing. I don't really see the reason for the whole Wyatt and jess story other than to depress the reader and make jess seem like an idiot. I mean how many terrible life threatening things can the author write into one story for one person? It just seemed like Wyatt a d jess and Whitney was a waste of words. I mean he drags her there and then marries someone else?! And jess is supposed to just kind of get over all of it because she gets super powers?! I mean this girl keeps getting screwed over. It kind of reminds me of what this author did to Alec and adri in the last dark reflections book. And somehow everything gets turned around to be the woman's fault while the man walks away laming the woman for him leaving. Its like a recycled story!!! The same way Alec leaves adri I the dark reflections series. I get not everything has to be easy and we all like suspence but SERIOUSLY does everyone have to fall in love with someone different in every book?! Its getting annoying. Just get in with the story and stop hinting around for 4 or 5 books about how bad things are going to get and stop making Rachel so cryptic just TELL the story already!!. There was way too much inner dialogue in this book and we did not need an entire chapter on bow the wedding was going to look and how jess wandered aimlessly around feeling sad. And sorry but Wyatt?! What a complete jerk! The way he treats jess and suddenly falls back in love with Whitney. His whole storyline is like a womanizing jerk. I pretty much hated this book and I don't think I am going to like the direction this author is taking those story. How depressing.

Left is about Jess, simple as that. We've had Isaac's side of the story in Lost, so I was happy to read Jess' side, even though I'm not her biggest fan.

Jess lost her memories when Oblivion got his hands on her. Since then, she has had to deal with other people's memories of her, trying to fit her back into a box that she no longer remembers. She reacted by pushing those that knew her away, and going with Wyatt on an 'adventure'.

Now, I've already said that I'm not her biggest fan. I thought she came across as incredibly self-centred, petty and selfish. The best bit about this book is when Jess realised that for herself! To acknowledge your faults takes courage. To try and better yourself is hard work, but Jess is prepared to try her best. Wyatt - there's more to this playboy than meets the eye, but I just couldn't warm to him. I won't give spoilers, but I will say that I'm not disappointed with how his story turned out.

There is an awful lot of information in this book, from descriptions of their surroundings to the history of the Graves line, to politics within the pack. It does feel a bit heavy during these parts, but stick with it as there is information in there that you need to know.

This is an exceptional series that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I am wondering where Dean will take it next! For this book as a whole, I will give it 4-stars. However, for the ending, that is definitely 5-stars! This is part of a series, so I would definitely recommend that you start from the beginning and immerse yourself in this world.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

Jess has grown

Up until now Jess has always been a background character, but now we get to see her struggle with who she is, without her memory. She finds a strength in herself and finds what she really wanted all along.
