Jenny Blue is an anomaly, not only to Earth, but also to the realm she belongs to. The realm that thinks she's dangerous. The realm that tries to keep Jenny from existing. In order to be free of them, Jenny, Harper and her companions have to cross the five realms, facing Demons, Dragons, Angels and Death in order for Jenny to be free of running, in order for her to be free to simply exist. Which, as it turns out, isn't nearly as simple as it sounds.
I love this story. The characters are well developed, unique, and intriguing. The story line is creative and the writing is clever. I love Jenny's snark. I love that she talks like a teenager and responds to situations as such. She's trying to figure out life and her place in it, like all teens have to do; but she has so much more to have to figure out.
I love Jenny's relationship with Harper. As the story proceeds, that relationship shows more complexity and depth. I like the other characters and look forward to getting to know them better too.
It will be hard to wait for the next installment. What a find!
Now, having said all that, if I was rating this book with my editing hat on, I would not give it five stars. There are quite a few grammatical and spelling errors; but I am rating the story, the writing, and the book.
