He stole my heart. I'll steal everything else.

Hunter Campbell is ridiculously wealthy, totally full of himself, and completely, deliciously lickable. It's no wonder women are lining up at the chance to win his heart.

But not me, I'm not here for his love.
I'm here for his whole freakin' island.

See, I grew up in paradise, right up until his family ripped it away from us. Now I'm stuck with nothing, while my playboy stepbrother lives the life that was supposed to be mine.

And I want it back.

All I have to do is keep my hands off his chiseled, inked-up body long enough to sneak back into his life, find the proof I need to reclaim my birthright, and get away before he catches on.

Simple.

Except my plan seemed a lot easier before he kissed me. Not to mention the mud-wrestling. Oh, and the skydiving. Did I mention skinny dipping?

Things got complicated, okay?

HUNTER CAMPBELL

Simple, sweet, funny, smooth,~~grabbed my attention from the start. Oh, Hunter *whistle* he's the added bonus.;D
I don't watch reality shows, they are not for me. This "reality" show, I was exceptionally happy with. I felt it was a unique story, the whole concept was just really nice. I couldn't help but notice a statement made about this.... after kissing the h at one point, a kissing contest was held. He kissed all the contestants as well. My first thought was.... yeah? They're there for the contest, they want to marry that boy, he's single... so what? I would expect him to "play the field" he is the Bachelor after all. Thing is... did he want to? Is he even enjoying it? Was the contest his idea? Why have a contest at all?
[image error]
Another bonus for me... best friends when they were kids, a history together, the ones where other girls just can't compete. Yeah, my cup of tea.

There is no way you won't fall in love with Hunter, he's quite the charmer. Sex scenes are very few and very tame for those who want a romance but not wild.

Alright so I am going to dive right in, I will come right out and say it! I hate reality TV , so yes I was wary about the setting . With that said I LOVED THIS STORY!
Ms Linwood , gives us a great second chance at love story , with well developed hero and heroine,a few intriguing nemesis and some parents that you will be glad are not yours!

Elizabeth Bissette was forced form her ancesterol home, a Caribbean island when her mother divorced her second husband and allowed him to keep the island . Elizabeth is now living in upstate New York working as a dental hygienist and trying to care for her alcoholic mother on limited funds.
When the opportunity arises to get to the island by being a contestant on a reality tv show and look for the original family deed, which will prove that her mother had no right to transfer ownership to her second husband Ollie Campbell, Elizabeth jumps at it ; to have her childhood home back is not something she can pass up. The bonus being she will get to see her step brother again, the two of them having had a special connection when they were younger , he was her first real kiss, she thought she lived him.
Hunter Campbell, is a young billionaire, his money coming from a trust fund in his maternal side of the family, now lives in the island he calls home, the one he came to as a teenager , the very same islands he spent some of his best years with his stepsister Elizabeth. Hunter now finds himself a part of his father's new venture , a reality tv show. And he is the star bachelor, plus he is financially backing it.
Liz may have changed her hair color , added contact lenses and straightened her hair but Hunter would one her anywhere, but why is she here? Why is she using an alias and disguise? He will play along but eventually she is going to have to spill. Playing along as a contestant is becoming dangerous , Liz needs to win challenges to stay on the island so she can have time to search for the deed, but winning means spending time with Hunter and time has not lessened her feelings for him.
One kiss and she is done for. However how long can she stay. It is obvious that not all of the challenges are on the up and up, some actually seem fixed, probably for the drama. But her first win leads to a very romantic date ,a private flight a romantic dinner and seem sexy beach time after escaping their camera man. How long can she hide who she is from Hunter ? Can she really take the island from him? Is she falling in love? Is he falling in Love? What will happen when she tells hi the truth of who she is?
Secrets, decteption, creative challenges, some cattiness and some sexy times abound, all leading up to a wonderful culmination!

Liz Bissette has a plan to be on a reality TV show. But it’s not because she wants to win the good looking bachelor, who just happens to be her former step-brother. No, she wants the private island he’s living on. Once part of her own inheritance, it now belongs to Hunter Campbell after his father took it from her mother in their divorce.

Meanwhile, Hunter Campbell is none too thrilled about having a handful of gold digging bachelorettes overrun his island, vying for his attention. That is until he sees a familiar face.

“‘I can play the game if you want, but you’ve already pretty much signed up to fuck me, so I don’t see the point.’”

This is a cute and sexy light-hearted adventure romance. There are some twists that add a touch of suspense and while there is your typical reality show challenges and drama, it was never over the top. Trust me when I say that I don’t watch this type of show on real television; but it was a delight to read about with the way things played out between Liz and Hunter, and I would definitely watch them on TV! Hollywood, take note ;-) This story captures the true romance above and beyond the drama, which was pleasingly pretty minimal.

Hunter has that bad boy edge, but inside he’s really a good guy. I was rooting for him and Liz and watching them rekindle their flame was fun and swoon worthy. Set on a private island in the Caribbean, there are a lot of neat touches with the scenery that made the story extra fun. I don’t want to spoil them by pointing them out, but they are cool and made Liz and Hunter’s relationship seem extra special.

Told via Liz and Hunter’s alternating first person POV, Mine is a stand alone with an adorable ending and epilogue. I love when authors give readers the future ;-)

There are A LOT of books with that title. Probably, if you liked to theme your reading you could do them for ages, although some of the books might need to be about actual mines, and picture books attempting to teach toddlers to be less selfish.

In this mine, Liz goes to a Caribbean island to compete on dating show, and she is there for the Wrong Reasons. See, the island once belonged to her, until her mom sold it to her second husband (which she didn’t aught to have done, because it belonged to Liz), who then kicked Liz and her mom off the island. Now Liz is back, and she’s going to take back her island and kick her sexy stepbrother (who bought the island from his father, even though his father didn’t aught to have owned it) to the curb (i.e. shore).

So this whole plot of invading an island under cover of competing for a guy’s love is great. I’d hoped that Liz had a ninja plan, like she would get herself kicked off early but only pretend to go and then use her expert knowledge of the secrets of the island to disappear, and do all kinds of devious acts to make everybody leave. Then, she would retrieve the pirate treasure awaiting her, and in possession of her island once again, rule it like a queen.

Sadly, that’s not what happens. Boringly, there’s a deed for the island hidden within the frame of an old print and Liz thinks if she can find it she’ll be set. Of course, Liz isn’t thinking too clearly. She’s dyed her hair red and popped in green contacts and thinks that this will be enough of a disguise to fool Hunter, ex stepbrother, current island owner, teen crush and first kiss. It’s not. Liz hasn’t put in the effort and doesn’t deserve to be crowned queen. Fortunately for her, Hunter likes her anyway.

This plot barely qualifies as naughty pseudo incest, but that’s fine: I’m here for the dating show elements anyway. Liz is a dental hygienist, which was one of the top jobs for pretty girls who like appearing on reality TV shows, before it was overtaken by social media influencer. This book was, however, written before we reached the Instagram tipping point, so is current for its time, and yes: this is unreliable commentary on everything after I mentioned pseudo incest. I’m not done though, because the book gets a couple of important things wrong about reality TV shows. The host is not the producer, and may occasionally adlib his script, but has no say in the direction the show takes. There’s no product placement, how’s the show going to make any money? There are no ITMs, that’s crazy! At one point Liz and Hunter head off to a restaurant with only a camera operator, when a more authentic experience would have been a minimum of two, someone operating sound gear, and at least one producer (although more likely two, since Liz and hunter would have had their own). Plus: Liz and Hunter eat while being filmed, and that’s completely out: no one wants to watch someone chew on TV.

I’ve come to the conclusion that, while I keep getting so excited whenever I see a romance that’s doing the Bachelor, and has a heroine taking part for the Wrong Reasons (i.e. she wants money for shoes or whatever and is conflicted because lady vs lady contests are a bad stereotype to perpetuate) which transform into the Right Reasons (i.e. love and getting the shoes), they don’t really work. The fun qualities of shows like the Bachelor (villains, great outfits, going to super pretty places surrounded by luxury, and having to do little else other than have feels) are all culled from fiction anyway, so putting them back in as a fictional element makes it all the more challenging to make the greater fictional environment of the plot convincing.

Some author may get there eventually. ‘Mine’ is still enjoyable, but in some ways that’s despite the fact that it doesn’t leverage classic stepbrother drama, or do much with the dating show elements.

Wow! Fantastic book that has humor, action, romance and a slight touch of suspense written in. It’s like the TV show the Bachelor but with a twist. Oh what a freakin awesome twist.
Liz grew up on an island that was her dad’s and then her dad died and her mom remarried. That marriage ended badly and they lost the island—well Liz and her mom ended up flat broke and her mom ended up a horrible alcoholic. Now grown up, she sees an ad with her former stepbrother Hunter on it ,and her island featuring him in a reality tv show where he is the “prize” at the end. Now Liz sees her chance for her to get her revenge on him and his father for what they did to her and her mother and for her to get her island back. Liz fakes a different identity to get on the show but and this is what I loved-Hunter recognizes her-Hunter never forgot his former step sister. He sat back and wanted to see how far she would let her farce play out.
As the show continued, these two lit up the pages with their dialogue and the chemistry. They got to reconnect and make up for lost time and shed some light on what really went down years before. The secondary cast of characters were wonderful and OMG Hunter is amazing! He is so delish-He is all alpha and yet there is a sensitive side there and he lets it out when the moment calls for it. Liz has been thru so much yet she still looks for the good in others. She is sassy and independent with a heart that was made for Hunter.
The backdrop of the Caribbean is awesome –the author had it down pat. I felt like I was there. The flow was fantastic and I enjoyed everything-wish though there was something regarding Liz and her mom in the sense maybe some conversation showing some closure at the end but overall, fantastic book.
My rating: 4.5 stars ****

Ah, I am back to my "Step-sibling" genre books.......and that make's me VERY happy !!!

This is Liz and Hunter's books and its choked full of surprises !. Liz grew up affluent (her father owned an island and all ! ) , her dad died and her mum re-married but that didn't end well, so basically Liz feel on hard times (glad you all appreciate my efforts to mix up and change my descriptions and pearls of wisdom..your welcome x)

Okay, so Liz see's an advert for what once was her dad's island featuring the golden prize of one hunk of man meat.....Hunter. *Grins* Hunter is none other than her step brother who she feels left her high and dry when their parents marriage failed. So why is he 1st prize on the island ?. Well, he's said billionaire who TV reality minds have pitched to entice the female population.

Sounds fabulous doesn't it ?. You can probably guess Liz sets out to enter, not to woo Hunter, but to re-claim her birthright.

This books was for me from start to finish pure genius. I loved it, every single word !!. Pop in my HEA and I was set !!

A massive well done Kim and many thanks for this opportunity x

Later peeps xx

This story is awesome. Five stars are not enough. It is a real Bachelor meets Survivor. I loved the setting of the story, a remote private island in the Caribbean. Mine, is definitely one of the best step-brother romance I have read. Any fan of the Bachelor or the Survivor Series will love this story.

The characters are kinda okay, the theme is interesting and the pace of the plot is also good.

What is not good? The whole background story.
And the chemistry or the history between the characters.

So Liz and Hunter were like teenage sweethearts who were supposedly best friends.
Liz and her mom were thrown out of the island by her step-dad who is also Hunter's dad.
This happens when he is 16 and she is 15.
And when she is 17/18 and he is 19, he gets the chance to meet her in NY cos they are still sweet on each other.
So far so good.

What is not good is the whole story behind what happens between the NYC meeting and when Liz comes to teh island.
So when she went to meet Hunter, there was this girl Nina who was hugging him.
Well????
Why didnt Hunter explain that she was just a one time date?
Why didnt Liz and Hunter keep in touch?
If there was a fight or an estrangement, why didnt they try to make up?
Why didn't Hunter try and help or even find Liz after he was fully independent?
And what the F is his whole job other than the family money he is spending so easily?

Thats the whole problem with this story.
It relies on the history between Hunter and Liz to build a chemistry, to show an intensity that is not really there in the scenes in the novel.
But there is not much real history - cos there are all these blanks for the last 10yrs.

Are we really supposed to believe that a beautiful girl like Liz waited around for 10yrs for a guy she was not sure she will ever see again?
Whats with the whole 'heroine has to remain virgin or in a couple of relationships, but teh guy has to be a total playboy sleeping with 100s' thingy in all such novels?
So Hunter slept around for 10 yrs and only remembered Liz was his so-called-love when he met her after 10yrs.
But Liz- the poor dumb mutt taht she was - waited for 10 yrs with just 1 attempt at losing virginity. Why?
No reason given.

There are no clear reasons why Hunter didnt try to keep in touch with his childhood friend especially if they were somewhat in love with each other.
How about phone, email - I dont know, a letter?

And Liz - gahhhhhhh... she expected to fool a person she was closely related to by changing color of eye and a slight change of hair?
And her reasons for coming to the show ? Even worse.
Is she 25 or 12 to believe that a map that was so old would be kept around or that stealing it was worth taking such risks?

Also how stupid did Kim expect the readers to be if she expected us to believe that a TV show team would get someone on board without some kinda ID check?
You cant get a package from a courier without a Govt ID but you can get on a TV show using a fake name? What would happen when someone who knows Liz see the show and wonder WTF she is doing under a fake name?

The only characters I like are Danny, Bianca and Megan.
Even Amanda is okay.

Hunter comes off as a jerk - calling all the women are sluts/whores even before he met them, playing around with his childhood friend and loving wth his dck more than his heart.

Thats another thing - there is no real relationship between these 2. Its more like fragments of memories from 10yrs back plus all the lust. Nahhh..not that great.

Which is all sad -cos this had the potential to be a good story.

What can be worse than a hot hunk? A hot hunk on her island!!!

~~~I received an ARC of Mine by Kim Linwood for an honest review!~~~
This is the third book by Ms Linwood that I have read and completely enjoyed!!!! I thought that she couldn't do better than Rebel or Bossy, but I was wrong. Mine is fantastic!!!!
Liz Bissette has two things on her mind, revenge, and getting her island back!!! She grew up on Frederick Island, had a great life until her father passed away and her mother remarried. As she got older she spent many wonderful hours exploring the island with her stepbrother, and came to have feels for him. That is until the day her mother and stepfather divorced and he took control of her island, they were forced off of her beloved island. She saw her stepbrother once a few years later, thinking he was meeting her and had feeling for her, she was crushed when he showed up with another girl. From that point on she only had revenge and hatred for her ex- steps!!!
Hunter Campbell had everything, money, a beautiful private island in the Caribbean, and his choice of women within the Caribbean islands. But there is one thing he doesn't have...his first love. His father’s network wants a show that will bring in interest and money, so they come with an idea for a Bachelor type show with 10 women coming to the island to compete for Hunter’s hand in marriage.
What Hunter doesn't know is that Liz is returning to reclaim what's hers. Liz disguises herself to get on the island to look for evidence to prove the island is hers. What she doesn't expect is that no disguise could ever hide her from Hunter. What ensues is some delicious fun, surprises, jealousy, cat-fights, plotting, and realizations!!!
Ms Linwood knows how to reel you in and keep you reading until you get to the end. She has a gifted writing style that allows me to picture everything as I read, like a mini movie in my head. I just loved the push and pull between Liz and Hunter, but what I loved most is that Hunter truly does love Liz and would do almost anything for her!!!
I would recommend this to anyone over 18 y/o. I would definitely read more books by Kim Linwood.
I received this for a honest review. I love the taboo of stepbrother books. Kim Linwood has done an amazing job though this one is a little different than most stepbrother books.
Liz Bissette has lost so much. The island had been in her family for years and was pasted down from generation from generation and was lost to her former stepfather. Her mother did not have the right to sign it away. Liz had one plan that was to get on the TV show “I’d marry that Billionaire” and find that deed. Of course she had to hope her stepbrother did not recognize her and this might result in having to spend time with her gorgeous stepbrother. Could that be so bad though, she had been in love with him so long.
Hunter Campbell was this gorgeous billionaire. He was having to do a show thanks to his father. The last thing Hunter wanted was a wife and now here he was on the RV show “I’d Marry That Billionaire”. He had a thing for his former stepsister for so long. He had hope he was about over her and now here she was pretending to be someone else. Sure the hair was different and she was wearing contacts but she is a person he would never forget no matter how much changed her looks.
This was an interesting story reading about the different competitions throughout the game and how each girl handle and acted after each competition. All had their secrets and motives. There was some under handed things going on. A lot of secrets being kept. How will Hunter react to everything going on?
I actually feel sorry for Liz and Hunter both. Both were victims of their parents cruel ways. Liz has a lot on her plate and a lot to deal with. If she keeps everything a secret she could lose Hunter for good and she might not get the help she needs. She so desperately needs someone to help shoulder the burden.
**I received an ARC for an honest review.**
First, let me start off by saying I actually was kind of hesitant to read this book at first. I love Kim's books. Her writing is spot on, and so damn spectacular, I'd read just about anything she writes. But when I saw it was going to be about a reality show, I really didn't know how that was going to work out.
But I am super freakin happy I read it. It blew my mind. It was way more than anything I could have ever expected.
Liz
She grew up on an island.
(And can I just say HOLYSH*TBALLS!!)
A whole island for her to just roam around on. I gotta say, I was a little jealous. But after her dad dies, her mom gets remarried, and she gains a stepbrother/best friend.
Enter Hunter.
Hunter is the sexy, rich billionaire who is every girls wet dream.
He's kind, and sassy. Funny, and smart.
But after their parents ugly split, Liz and Mom moved back to the states. Things got tough with her mom's alcohol problem. Although, Liz and Hunter tried to stay in touch it just didn't work.
Now almost ten years later, Hunter is on a sort-of-like-the-bachelor reality show. And for the sake of her mothers health, and trying to get what she believes belongs to her, the island, Liz goes incognito and gets on the show.
But all the best plan never go the way they're meant to.
I was so immersed in this book, I literally read it in one day.
I'm not a big fan of reality shows, but this book brought a whole lot more to the table than just trashy reality TV.
It was spectacular!
I absolutely loved this book from beginning to end.
We meet Elizabeth Bissette Liz) and Hunter Campbell who are stepbrother and stepsister who spent their teenage years living on a private island. But it was during these teenage years that Liz and Hinter started developing feeling for one another but neither of them would talk about it or act on their feelings for one another.
The marriage doesn't last and ends badly and Liz and her mum have lost the island.Liz and her mom ended up flat broke and as a result Liz spent 10 long years dealing with her alcoholic mum and the loss of the island she grew up on to the only person she ever truly loved Hunter Campbell
Liz sees an ad with her former stepbrother Hunter on it ,and her island featuring in a reality tv show where he is the "prize" at the end. Liz sees her chance for her to get revenge on him and his father for what they did to her and her mother get her island back. Liz realises if she is gong to play this game she must fake fakes a different identity and false name to get on the show. Hunter recognizes her Liz (Sarah) Hunter has never forgotten his former step sister.
Its not long before Liz and Hunter give into the feelings they had for each other and boy do they have chemistry, The chemistry between the two of them is smoking hot.
Will Liz win the show and get her man?
Both Liz and Hunter are likeable characters and you find yourself cheering for them.
This is one of the most original stepbrother stories I've ever read. I've got quite a lot in my reading list, yet I've never encountered anything like this. It's fun and well written, and throws in a few chapters telling about the time the characters were younger and shared a home... on a tropical island!
Family distress separated them and now Liz is desperate to take back her birthright. I think it's a stroke of genius that the author devised a reality show to make that possible.
This beautiful island might look like paradise, but it's a veritable jungle of cutthroat maneuvers and backstabbing strategies. All for the glory of TV rates.
I really enjoyed the story because it has a fun tone with all the tests and challenges the girls go through to win the bachelor's interest, but mainly because both Hunter and Liz harbour deep feelings for each other and thtey shine through all the teasing and the secrets.
Many mistakes are a barrier between them, so their longing for the truth and real love was sweet and ever present in their thoughts. The few steamy scenes are wisely placed in the plot and this seemingly forbidden romance ends with a very public display of wit, charm and love.
A secluded island, a decade apart, but a childhood crush that may have not been forgotten.
Hunter Campbell has it all. The fame, the money, a beautiful island, but not the woman of his dreams. So when his father decides to try a game bachelor show on the island to see if he can make some money off it. He could care less. Until he sees her getting off the plane in front him.
Liz hated lying to get on the show, but to do what she needs to get done she had no choice. Since her mothers divorce a decade ago. Being kicked off the island that was rightly hers in the first place, not her moms. They have been barely scraping by and no thanks to her mother's alcoholic habit and some measly money her stepfather gave them. But what happens when all her childhood dreams come rushing back to her from seeing her handsome ex-stepbrother once again? When she do what she came to do or will she decide to go for the gold?
~Possible minor spoilers~
Interesting premise. h is a contestant on a reality show where the H is the prize...kinda like The Bachelor meets Survivor. H & h are former step-siblings and each other's first loves but haven't seen each other since they were 16, a decade ago. h isn't there for the H but for his island, which should be hers.
Enjoyable read, not very realistic but a unique storyline. I didn't love the H having a passionate kissing contest with all the women, one right after another, after getting intimate with the h...so nasty!
--BOOK: standalone. Full length. Kindle loc: 3300
--POV: Dual first person
--SETTING: private tropical island
--STEAMINESS: 3/5 - a couple explicit sexy scenes
--EDITING: no problems noticed
--ENDING: HEA. Epilogue - 10 years later. No Cliffhanger.
Mine deserves more than 5 stars. That's how much I loved it !
The story was definitely a breath of fresh air. I loved the writing, it was simple yet so fascinating.
Hunter is so easy to love; he's funny, charming and so carefree,it would take 2 seconds for you to fall in love with him.
Liz is a fighter, she left everything behind and took a bold step to save her life and her mother.
I'm a sucker for epilogues that take after 10 years and Mine delivered a sweet one.
This is my first read of Kim's book and I'm sure it wouldn't be the last.
Okay, I'm giving this 4.5 stars.
I honestly didn't think I'd like this book, I mean, I only downloaded it because it was free and it was one of those "why not" moments. I love alpha males and all that, but I didn't think it'd really get into this. But, to my much pleasant surprise, I LOVED this book!
It had drama, romance, love, the alpha male bad boy, and the girl that got away, and second chances. Oh! And we got to see a bit into the future!
My only complaint is I would have loved to see the friendships develop more than they did.
All in all, wonderful book!
Cute
Cute story.
Liz/Sarah hides who she is to get on a Bachelor type reality show to not get the guy... but get her island back.
Hunter doesn't sem to have any issues in this story. Is a great hero, but has little motivation in the story and while he's engaging he's more of a passive character.
There is some steam and but no real mystery as everyone figures it our early in the story and there is little drama... which was a happy surprise .
Great vacation read. Simple and sweet.
A fun twist on reality tv. Of course there are twists along the way and hurt feelings. And a happy ending.
Since I'm not really a fan of reality tv I wasn't sure how this would work but it worked much better than I thought. However, my one issue is how did the female lead believe that she wouldn't be recognized almost immediately, as did happen.
Definitely one I would recommend to a friend.
Who likes a tropical island?
Well Liz certainly did. Enough to cheat her way onto a reality game show. Where the win won not just the island, but the owner too. Or first the owner and then the island.
Except Liz believed it was her island to beginn with, not Hunter's.
Light and fun reading and obviously full of intrigue and girl bitching as to be expected.
Nice to read on a wet and miserable English winter day. Warmth by osmosis?
sweet story
This was a really cute love story, the headline is a bit misleading as they’re not step siblings during the actual story, just as kids. I took a star off because I didn’t understand if they loved each other how they didn’t manage to stay in touch via phone/email etc, or why Hunter brought Nina with him and why he didn’t try to see Liz after for 8 years?? Other than that it was a cute story.
Hunter and Liz
Okay so I don’t feel like this one is a TRUE stepbrother romance but I really did enjoy reading it. I loved the whole ‘The Bachelor’ aspect of it. I found it funny and romantic. There’s not too many “steamy” scenes in this one, so if your looking for one packed with it I would look elsewhere but it’s a good story nonetheless.
Liz and Hunter's story is like the Bachelor set up with Temptation Island. It is all drama and plenty of steam! I loved the fast paced story and the chemistry of the two! It was a great story! I can't wait to read more by Ms. Linwood.
Good romantic read
I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this book. It was a nice romantic read. Not overly steamy. If I had a complaint, it would be that there was no wrap up on Megan.
Mine is a great read
Well written, kept me entertained. I do wish there was more confrontation between hunter liz and the dad. I did love the chemistry between Liz and Hunter. I loved that she went in with a vengeance, i just hate that it didnt last longer. But a good read
Review
Holy moly I’m glad I read this book. I was intrigued from the beginning until the end. I loved how each character has their own story line and how they felt with each other so in the end they all had their own happily ever after.
Um ... ok. I was very excited to read this book. I never read stepbrother books. Afraid of the direction of the story, but this seemed different. Hunter and Liz were a perfect match, although frustrating at times and quite funny. The story concept was fun. That's what pulled me in. I loved the contestants. Most of the characters were well developed. I did not like that we were not shown the discussion between Hunter and his dad. Or any conversation really. Things that transpired in the book, I felt, deserved a conversation for clarification and closure for him. Liz as well. Minimal conversation between Liz and her mother. I felt that was a lost opportunity for the book. Also, I agree with the dad, not enough drama for the tv show. Where were the reality show antics? There was minimal sex. I thought Liz and Hunter were a little boring. There was passion right up until the act itself, then it was over. Not well written. I suspect the author did want to focus so much on the sex, which is fine, but what was focused on was boring. All in all an enjoyable read. A little long. Especially with the lack of antics. I found myself skipping around and losing interest.
