*Sigh* Where to start? There are so many things wrong with this book. And given that I’ve only read about 99 pages of it, that’s quite a feat.
Let’s start from the bottom and work our way up, shall we?
This is yet another story about a perfect, handsome guy with a deep dark secret that probably involves him being misunderstood or wronged in some way.
Such originality. Much creativity. Bravo.
And then, there are his emotions. One moment he’s saying that he doesn’t really like her.
Then, a few pages later, he can’t live without her? ???
And then, interspersed between that, you get passages full of self-pity and self-loathing where he’s like no she’s too good for me!!!
But, fine. Some people have dark histories, and maybe he’s just one of the unlucky few. And maybe he’s also just someone who vacillates between two extremes of emotions as well. I personally have never met anyone like that, but…I’m sure they exist…? (And I'm not talking about emotional disorders here.)
But you know what I can’t accept? His lack of respect for her.
For example, when he ignores her refusal and forces her to lunch with him. In front of her co-workers. Despite knowing she’s already enduring teasing for her rumoured relationship with him.
Gentlemen - and ladies, too - no means no. No matter how interested you are in someone, you can't ignore their refusals. And get this: he does this not once, not twice, but repeatedly.
And our brilliant protagonist 唐小雨 just lets him.
But I can accept even that. There’s a fine line between 腹黑 and just plain douchebaggery. Maybe the author just went on the wrong side of that line.
I was willing to condone all that, until he took her phone.
And not only that, but he shows her phone to his mother.
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
There are some lines that you just cannot cross. And the blatant invasion of privacy is one of them.
I don’t give a fuck about what deep dark secret you have. I don’t give a fuck about whether or not you think she’ll forgive your actions. You cannot abuse her trust in that way. And then to show it to someone else as well?
That was the point where I stopped reading. Because honestly? I don’t care about the main couple. The way唐小雨 and 颜谨’s characters are written makes the age gap (颜谨 being 7 years her senior) very obvious, so the whole time I was getting a vaguely father-to-daughter vibe. Which was already kind of off-putting. And then this. This blatant disrespect for another human being, and the blatant invasion of privacy and abuse of trust.
I’m sorry, I just can’t do it.

被警察调查，被学校开除，被人鄙夷，父母因此大吵一架，争执不下后惨淡离婚，母亲带着他出国寻求治疗，更名换姓，一走就是十年。
而十年前的真相，到底他有没有对学姐们有不妥的行为，似乎也随着时间的流逝，没有人再去在意了。
*郁风 is 颜谨’s original name.

这次颜谨回答的很快：“不喜欢。”

其实，说不清自己为什么会赖着要到这里来，可来了之后却又释然了。
也许，他只是不舍得离开她，又或者，他只是想来看看，她生活的地方是什么样子。

颜谨拿出自己的手机，扫了一眼，点头：“哦，对不起，是我没看。”他偏过头，似乎有点苦恼，然后直接对杭娜说，“杭娜，我约小雨吃个午饭，你们改天再去玩，好么？”

【米菲：小雨，到家了吗？到家后回我微信哦，担心，盼复。】
颜谨直接放弃了将手机送回，但素养让他没有将米菲从她的通讯工具删除，即便他非常想那么做。他锁了屏幕，快步回到车上，将手机丢到副驾驶，车子朝前开了几米，看见唐爸接走了小雨，随后调头驱车离去。
And not only that, but he shows her phone to his mother.
颜谨放下车钥匙，压抑地将唐小雨的手机递给了母亲。
“米菲和小雨有联系。”
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
