Love a rags-to-riches story? This is more like rags-to-bitches.
I was far from living the dream, but now I’m stuck in a nightmare. Torn from everything I knew, I’m trapped in a world full of lies, deceit…. And murder. And I’m right in the middle. Surrounded by fame, money, prestige and power, I’m drowning in betrayal and deception. And someone wants me dead. Just like my mother…
Really enjoyed this very short intro into Jessa’s life. Omg I really want to know what happens next!
Jessa lives with her mum at a trailer park. Her mum works at a bar and one day she goes to look for her and she isn’t there! She has to do her mums shift or her mum will be fired. She does the shift and meets Fox a very attractive man who flirts with her. She finishes her shift goes home and her mum is still not back! Can’t really say anymore without giving it away! Really can’t wait to find out what happens next!
This was a different and interesting Christmas romance. I voluntarily chose to review it. In the end, it feels like a cliffhanger. And it has very little romance in it. I've given it a 4* rating. I'm not sure the under 18 readers should read this either. This left me feeling a little disturbed at the end.
I was very disappointed with this book being included in the compilation book "All I Want For Christmas." First off, the only thing it had to do with Christmas was that was a day included within this book. Secondly, it wasn't a complete story as the others were. It was 1 \2 a story and you're expected to go but the complete book to finish the story. Just very disappointed! The writing itself was good, and had there been a complete story I would have enjoyed reading it all. This wasn't marked as a sample that you find at the end of books.
Wow! Where to start with this review?! Jessa and her mom Courtney don't live a life of glitz and glam. Instead they live paycheck-to-paycheck barely making enough to survive and keep a roof over their heads. Suddenly, Jessa finds herself without her mom and thrust into a world she couldn't imagine. This was a quick read and it kept my attention. It does end in a cliff-hanger of sorts with so many unanswered questions! I will definitely be anxiously awaiting the next book in the series!
I like Jessa. She is about something. She is getting good grades and has a part-time job. She hopes to get a scholarship to get out. Only one day her mom doesn't show up. The next day she was told her mother is dead and that she has an uncle & cousins. She is jeans and t-shirts. They are diamonds and expensive clothes. She wants to leave and they are keeping her on the estate.
I was enjoying this book till the end. I just wished I knew this was a series. They leave you hanging.
Cruel Intentions by Scarlett York A heavy topic of a mother's supposed suicide at Christmas time and the resulting confusion of the teenage daughter when unknown relatives show up. This is really just an intro to a series. Not a complete story other than a girl's introduction to the fast selfish world of wealth, privilege, and back stabbing.
