What a well put together box-set that leaves the reading wanting more. Each story has a touching plot that is well written. Each author is outstanding writers that give a highly entertaining read that will keep you turning the pages. You become so invested in the story you will stay up to read each page as the authors make you smile, chuckle and even break your heart. You will have tears of joy and tears of sorrow. From the first page in the first story to the last page in the last book you will be taken away as you journey through time as fall in love with six grooms-to-be and their brides-to-be.

THE HANDFASTING by Glynnis Campbell
You will fall in love with Noel and Ysenda as their eyes met for the first time and both are taken back. He sees her sister first and thinks oh yes she is beautiful and the fairest in the land that is until he sees Ysenda and knows she is his bride to be as she out shines her sister in every way. Ysenda tries her best to tell him he has the wrong sister as her father lets him believe he has the right one. What a mess this turns out to be as they are married right away and passion gets out of hand. There wasn’t supposed to be a bedding he promised but passion takes over and before they know it that have one wild night to remember.

You are going to love her brother who is a broken man as you watch him grow into a strong loving man who can stand on his own. Noel is a true night in shinning armor that stands for the truth and doing the kings bidding. The truth must come out and lord help them all when he finds out he has the wrong bride. When the kings finds out what has happen there will be hell to pay. These two love each other and must give the other up to keep peace with a nation. Can love win or will the evil father and younger sister be the winners?

This is a lovely delightful read I could not put down, I loved the plot and all the characters. I believe this is part of a series that might tell how things end when the father dies who will inherit the land and title. You will find lots of steamy passion along with a few twists that will keep you holding your breath waiting for the other shoe to drop. It is touch and go how this will end with two people who love each other but can find no way to be together. If you are looking for a wonderful historical read that will entertain you, hold your interest and not wanting to story to end you have found it. I hope you will give this series a try.

FOREVERMORE by Lauren Royal
Clarice’s story will break your heart she has been used and abused by her late husband who called her names and was very unkind in and out of the bedroom. She never wants to marry again and was thrilled when a child was born she could adopt. This little baby girl is all she needs to make her life complete. When Cameron who is younger and handsome comes along she might have to think this marriage thing over. Will Cameron understand the pain she as went through and will he give her time she needs to find out the marriage bed isn’t so bad.

Here is a couple who are made for each other but Clarice’s abuse keeps her from going for what she wants. Cameron was a sweetie so understanding and giving. This was a story about trust, love and waiting for the right one to come along. It was well written touching read with wonderful characters.

FALL FROM GRACE by Jill Barnett
I am still chucking as I type this. With the humor in this book you will find yourself laughing out loud and when you are not you will chuckle. I just loved Fiona and her bagpipes as I know you will just wait until you see what she can do with them. Grace is a handful and a spitfire when she is around you do not get much peace as Colin finds out when he tries to get some peace she baits him and if she isn't he is. Neither will admit they are wrong as they butt heads over and over again trying to out do the other. There are times it is a fight for their lives. When the tables are turned and it is them against the world they make one heck of a good team.

The author gives you wonderful characters of misfits you will adore. Colin is a man after my own heart when he could have got down and nasty he took a step back and come out fighting for the love of one wild woman. These two are pulled together with an attraction they cannot walk away from. Grace tries so hard there is no way she can want a McNab this just would not do.

This was so well written you won't be able to put it down. The humor is out of this world. There was nothing I didn't love about this story. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

HEART OF FRAGILE STARS by Cynthia Wright

Wow to have a man follow you across the ocean just to take you in his arms and make you his own are what fantasies are made of. To have that man be a pirate willing to stop a ship and fight his way to you would be a dream come true. Jean-Philippe is everything that every woman would want. He only has one woman in his sites and that is the lovely Antonia who takes his breath away. One look was all it took for him to know it wouldn’t be long before this woman would be his.

I loved this pirate tell of going after what you want and not letting anything stand in your way. Antonia life has not been easy she has lost a lot. Jean-Philippe loves the thrill of the chase to take over and conquer ships taking what he wants. His poor mother must have pulled her hair out raising this wild child. This was a lovely very well written story pull of heartbreak, passion, love along with finding that one person that was made for you.

ONCE UPON A BRIDE: post review on ANY THREE SITES; GoodReads, Amazon, Barnes and Noble, iBooks, Google Play, and Kobo

Once Upon a Bride (anthology)
I really enjoy anthologies because they frequently introduce me to a new author, while often allowing me to read a new book by an author I’ve enjoyed before. In the case of “Once Upon a Bride” (a book I was asked by one of the authors to review), I had actually read 5 of the authors previously, and, in fact, had already read 4 of the stories. Of the six novellas in this collection, I truly LOVED 5 of them and really enjoyed rereading those that were familiar to me. The only selection that was slightly disappointing was “The Four Leaf Clover” (read the individual reviews below for more detail).

THE HANDFASTING by Glynnis Campbell
When her cruel father threatens her older, but disabled brother Caimbeul with death, Ysenda is forced to trick her sister's betrothed into marrying her instead. By the time her husband, Sir Noel de Ware, discovers he has wedded (and bedded) the wrong sister, they have developed deep feelings for one another, and it is up to the three of them to find a solution that will satisfy everyone, including the two kings who ordered the marriage. This is a lovely story, with enough twists and turns to keep you guessing as to how they will arrive at their HEA.

FOREVERMORE by Lauren Royal
This is the beautifully written and heartwarming story of Clarice Bradford, a 32 year old widow with an adopted daughter who is romanced by a much younger Scottish Baron. Having been used and abused by her late husband and fearing the difference in age between Cameron Leslie and herself, she is wary of taking his courtship seriously. Though this is a standalone story, there are several characters in this story who we met in Ms. Royal's other books. You will definitely want to read the other books in the series, because they are all just wonderful!

FALL FROM GRACE by Jill Barnett
During an ambush, Grace McNish and her bumbling, starving band of cohorts capture a man who she believes to be the son of her mortal enemies, the thieving McNabs, intending to hold him for ransom. Unbeknownst to her, the man she holds is not a McNab, but is instead Colin Campbell, Earl of Argyll, the man who well may be the answer to her clan's prayers. In a series of laugh-out-loud misadventures involving misaimed crossbows, pikes, and a half-deaf bagpiper, they come to an uneasy truce for the good of her clan. Snappy dialog and funny situations by this new (to me) author move this well crafted story along to its inevitable HEA.

HEART OF FRAGILE STARS by Cynthia Wright
As soon as Jean-Philippe Beauvisage, AKA the pirate called the Sea Rogue, meets Russian orphan Antonia, he knows he has to make her his and proceeds to make that dream come true, rescuing/kidnapping her from another ship. Though a standalone novella, it is the first book in Ms. Wright's excellent Rakes & Rebels series, where you can follow the descendants of Jean-Philippe and Antonia as they have their own adventures and find their own true loves.

THE FOUR-LEAF CLOVER by Cheryl Bolen
This was the only book in the collection which, though quite good, to me didn’t live up to the excellent writing I’ve come to expect from Ms. Bolen (having read 4 of her other books). The story begins with Norman Sterling proposing to Millie Gresham, a woman he had seen (but not met) years earlier. To his joy, she accepts and they enter into what appears to be an idyllic marriage, despite their unwillingness to confess their love for each other. Their relationship is nearly destroyed by miscommunication, suspicion and fear. Honestly the first half of the book dragged for me, though it picked up eventually, arriving (finally!) at its HEA.

A WINTER HEART by Annette Blair
Drawn by the ghostly presence of a young woman to a property for sale, Amish farmer Caleb Skylar meets Hannah Peachy and is immediately drawn to the melancholy young woman. Even his frightened daughter immediately takes to Hannah, and so they begin a loving relationship, even though all three of them bear the deep emotional scars of their pasts. In the end they are willing to traverse any obstacles to be together, even the wrath of Hannah’s father, the bishop.

This was a great read. Some authors I've read before and enjoyed again and others were new to me. I would give this anthology a 4.5 rating if I could. Most were 5.

The Handfasting - 5
This was my first Glynnis Campbell book, and I look forward to reading more of this and other series. I loved the strength of these characters! The noble knight who clearly loved his heroine and her brother. He truly knows what family means. I also loved how he saw the beauty in Ysenda when it was clear she never saw it in herself. I was overjoyed with the bond between Ysenda and Caimbeul. The protectiveness on both sides and growth that both showed was wonderful.

Forevermore - 5
Such a sweet story! I can't resist a man who loves children. The immediate connection between Cameron and Mary (daughter) was adorable. You could see Clarice melting from that first meeting. I loved how persistent he was with Clarice when he could see that she thought she wasn't worthy of a man like him and the pain of the past pulling her away. I also loved Clarice's fortitude that she exhibited throughout. I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series!

Fall From Grace - 5
Very funny start to this story. I loved the cast of characters in the "band of thieves" and their endless foolishness. Grace is a feisty little thing! She definitely puts Colin through his paces. I would have liked a little more in regard to their marriage at the end, but it did keep to their interaction throughout. I will definitely be reading some of her other books.

Heart of Fragile Stars - 5
I loved reading Jean-Philippe and Antonia's love story! I have loved all of Cynthia's stories and was excited when I learned I would finally get to read this one. Another strong female and her rogue of a husband who clearly loves her. Don't the bad boys always fall hard! Now I want to go back and re-read all the books in this series!

The Four-Leaf Clover - 3
Overall, this was a sweet story. The characters were likable. However, it was a bit boring. This story had great potential, but it just seemed to miss the mark in my opinion. The author spent too much time on hidden/hurt feelings. I dislike these types of stories where no one says what they feel and make assumptions about their partners. Communication is big in my book! Maybe it's the era? Also, there could have been some expansion on the theft (who was the "inside man") and discussion of Sally's accusation. It seemed to wrap up to quickly and neatly.

A Winter Heart - 4
This was my first Amish read. I enjoyed the story and the depth of the characters. I liked the love and care that Caleb and Hannah showed toward Susie and each other. Both having experienced loss, they were able to grasp the emotions and needs of the other. I got a little irritated with the choppiness of some of the conversations, especially in the first chapter. It seemed to smooth out a little towards the end. Maybe it's the dialect?

**I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review**

This anthology is one of those that is about half-in-half. What I mean is while all of the stories had potential, only half of those met my expectations. Those that received 3 stars, I feel could have easily been transformed into full length novels rather than short stories. This collection as a whole is full of great reads and is a fantastic way to introduce yourself with the work of a new author.

The Hand Fastening (5/5)
the connecting novella of "The Warrior Maids of Rivenloch" and "The Knights of DeWare" series from Glynnis Campbell. It is a story of mistaken identity that ultimately leads to love.

Forevermore- (4/5)
Clarice Bradford's life is about to be turned upside down by a handsome Scotsman! This is the story of a widow who is quite content with her life. She has a beautiful daughter and a small cottage to call her own. Mrs. Bradford has no desire to remarry until she meets Cameron Leslie, a handsome Baronet. Almost letting her fears consume her, Clarice tries driving Cameron away. Will true love conquer all?
This is a lovely novella that reads like a fairytale. A perfect quick read.

Fall From Grace- (3/5)
Grace McNish is a woman on a mission, she's kidnapped one of her enemies clansmen... except unbeknownst to Grace the handsome man she's kidnapped isn't a mere highlander, but an Earl! She plans on holding him for ransom in order to get back some of her family's stolen wealth. What she never expected was to fall in love with her hostage!
Overall, an interesting and quick read!

The Heart of Fragile Stars-(5/5)
Having a soft spot for the handsome pirate type, I absolutely loved reading Jean-Phillipe and Antonia's love story. It has a little bit of everything for the romance enthusiast. Adventure on the high seas, a cursed relic, an unlikely love between a devilishly handsome pirate and an orphan.

The Four-Leaf Clover- (3/5)
Set in 1870s Missouri, Wealthy Norman Sterling proposes to the girl of his dreams. Millie Gresham is a southern belle who has lost everything in the war... her family, social status, fortune. When she accepts his joy knows no bounds. But has his young bride truly given him her heart?
This is a very sweet story. The characters are likeable enough. The storyline has great potential, but felt a bit rushed in some areas.

A Winter Heart- (3/5)
*I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical at first. After all, how many "sensual Amish romances" are there really? How many of those are truly enjoyable? This author tells a convincing story. I give it 3/5 stars only because the storyline could have used a little more development. I would've liked to have read more about these characters. This story could've easily been adapted for a full length novel.

The hand fasting: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Great tale about love, honor and family. Noel immediately falls in love with his bride, Ysenda, but she's not the sister that the King said to marry, that would be Cathalin, because their father wants Cathalin to marry a Highlander, not a foreigner. Things start off complicated and go downhill from there. This is funny, well written and very satisfying.

Forevermore: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This story has a nice twist to it, Clarice is older than Cameron. It makes it a very engaging story. And Cameron is a really great guy, and the way he is with Mary, from the minute he meets her, is so sweet. I love the Chase family, all their stories are interesting and wonderful.

Fall From Grace: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. This is a very funny story, it's like the bad news bears meet Robin Hoods men. Colin and Grace are both snarky and stubborn with a great sense of humor. I wish this had been longer, I could have read another 500 pages of their, and the McNish clans, antics.

Heart of Fragile Stars: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Great story about love, curses and pirates. I love a good gentleman pirate, even more so when they fall hard and fast, and this has one. Along with a very sad lady who has some fire to her. And they have an adventure together.

Four Leaf Clover: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Millie and Norman are both a little strange She is sort of ditzy while he is a little Jekyll and Hide-ish. I didn't really care for this book, it came across as somewhat bizarre. It wasn't awful but I wouldn't read it again.

A Winter Heart: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was never drawn into this story, it seemed choppy. The characters and storyline are interesting though.

Forevermore by Lauren Royal (5 Stars)

I received a free copy of this book from Lauren Royal in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.

Forevermore is Lauren's story in this collection. It has a fairytale quality to it much like its title; a knight in shining armour wooing a woman who has only known pain in marriage/relationships with men. It is short but sweet and satisfying.

The Handfasting by Glynnis Campbell (5 Stars) - A story of mistaken identity, sibling loyalty and love. This was a charming story with a HEA ending.

Fall from Grace by Jill Barnett (5 Stars) - This was my favourite in the collection, I laughed and chuckled to myself through the story. A fab read!

Heart of Fragile Stars by Cynthia Wright (5 Stars) - This story reminded me of an Errol Flynn movie; swashbuckling pirate and spirited damsel! A lighthearted read, though with a couple of loose ends.

The Four Leaf Clover by Cheryl Bolen (2 Stars) - Found the hero of this old fashioned story rather pompous and didn't feel any chemistry between the pair.

A Winter Heart by Annette Blair (4 Stars) - A heartwarming Amish story about second chances at love.

The Handfasting was a case of mixed identity for the bride. In fact it was interesting to see the wrong sister trying hard not to fall for her husband because she believed it was bad. Liked the way they solved the problem in the end. Forevermore is part of the Chase Family series and if you have read the earlier books you will relate better to the story. Although you can read it as a stand alone as well. It comes across as a typical fairy tale coming to real life situation. If you enjoy historical romances, this collection is perfect for you. Although I have only finished reading two of the stories, I am sure that I will enjoy the remaining four just as much. I received a free review copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a review of Forevermore by Lauren Royal.
This is a delightful story of Clarice and Cameron. They have an attraction but Clarice is sure that it won't last for a variety of reasons, not the least being that he is a titled gentleman and she is a commoner. There are a number of other differences that Clarice believes will be obstacles to their romance. Her young daughter, Mary, is a sweetheart and I love the interaction between her, Cameron and Clarice. I had come across the characters in previous books and it was good to read their story. Although this can be read as a stand alone novella .
I can recommend this set of novellas, each story quite different and from authors that you will want to read again.

All the books are brilliant but I must admit my absolute favorite is Forevermore by Lauren Royal.Have you ever read a novel or story where the author’s descriptions of the characters and settings are so vivid it’s like a movie playing in your head or you feel like you stepped into the pages and are witnessing the plot unfold? This is wonderful when it happens and for me that was when I read the books written by Lauren Royal.

Perfect for a very enjoyable read! The good thing is that between novellas I could make a break before starting the following one! I just couldn't put them down!

Great collection of stories by good, strong authors.

I enjoyed each and every story in this anthology. Not matter what the period they all delivered on the romance, the euphoria and challenges of being a new bride.
