Nicholas Harris is a professional badass. Ex-Army Ranger, former personal security for the one and only Valentine Roth, mercenary, assassin, pilot, and my lover. After Roth and Kyrie holed up in their island fortress estate in the Caribbean, Nick started a private security contracting company: Alpha One Security. He hired the best of the best, the scariest, nastiest, toughest—and sexiest—security experts in the business.
And now he has the mission of a lifetime: the three year old daughter of two A-list celebrities has been kidnapped and is being held for ransom. The twist? The mercenary and Russian mafioso who snatched the sweet, innocent little girl is a vicious, evil, sadistic thug with a grudge against Nick.
And the fallout from this mission will be jet fuel on the flames of that grudge, pulling everyone around Nick into the vortex of violence and vengeance. Good thing we have the seven deadliest and most badass men on the planet on our team… And oh yeah, there’s little ol’ me:

ACTION SEX ACTION SEX DANGER SEX ANGER MAKE UP SEX...
END.
in that order...fast, entertaining, sexy, steamy, thrilling...and well, not that memorable...lol
Liked the characters, Nick Harris is a mercenary alpha military to the core with his own high profile security agency...and she, Layla Campari is Nick's mirror image in a female's body! She does it all, macho crap and hard sex...lol
I liked Nick Harris but i fuckin liked Layla the macho in femme fatale body a little bit more!
BUT there was still smth missing...*thinks hard* I cant pin point...but the over all impression was just okay...as I said fun, action packed with wild sex entertainment...
Fuckin damn, i m so hard to please sometimes *wink*
But, i am interested in the secondary characters that will be having a starring role in the next book...so on my way..
1)This book is a novella. Nowhere does it say in the title that it's a novella. It has 7 chapters and ends at 67%. I don't even care that it's a novella. I have nothing against them but it ANGERS me that it's misleading. Advertise your shit properly.
2) This book is alllll sex. Like legit all sex. THE PLOT GETS LOST IN THE SEX. Again since this is a novella, the amount of time and pages spent on sex seems redundant and ridiculous.
Harris (Alpha One Security #1) Jacinda Wilder ⭐⭐⭐⭐
What am I missing here? I know this is a novella cause this is so short, duh? Where's the bigger book for this stuff?!
Ok the thing is I stumbled upon Puck's first. Then I realized I can't understand shit. So what I did was track down who came first, so now I'm here, with Harris. Then there's this void again that they keep talking about, seems like I missed the real party first. Brazil of some dort they went through. Ok does this thing even have a novel. I mean come on!!
But to be honest, I have hots for this book. As you can see my rating was off by a little star, cause I need the damned novel for Harris, which in fact I don't have.
Nick Harris is the owner of Alpha 1 Security, a no holding back security firm for the rich and willing to pay. Layla, a girl he rescued on an op, now is his live-in more than-but not official girlfriend. She wants to be part of the team and Nick wants her safe.
I don't read science fiction, or fantasy, or paranormal. I like my books to be realistic, even if they are historical in nature. Many times when reading this title I said to myself, you got to be kidding. There just wasn't enough based in reality for me. Every character trait, even for the supporting characters, seemed to be exaggerated. There were tiny glimpses of sweetness for each character, but they were short lived. I do like alpha characters but ones that use their alpha when in crisis maybe even in romantic situations, not every minute.
The plot seemed to take a second place to the characters' sex drive, and once they were moving towards their op it went very fast.
This novella I got from Amazon had a preview of the next novella in this series. I read it, and unless I can borrow it for free from the library I won't be reading it. From what I can tell from a few scenes it is more of the same.
Jasinda Wilder definitely has a large following that adores her writing style. This was my first time reading her work and I realized it is not my taste. I am happy I tried out a novella at a lower price than a full length title.
Alpha One Security Harris is an introduction novella for this new series. While I love the new characters introduced, I am hoping that this new series has more of an romantic suspense, action driven theme, rather than erotica romance. Jacinda Wilder is the queen of erotic romance and any one of her love scenes sizzles, but the thing is she also develops dynamic characters that have a story to tell. With too much emphasis on the eroticism the characters tend to get lost.
I love Layla and Harris but found Layla's expectations of becoming an equal partner a bit much. After all Harris and his men have trained for years to become security specialists. Layla never picked up a gun until she met Harris.
Over all this novella was a good introduction to the new series.
What even was this? First of all...it was a novella which was not made clear at all. Secondly, there was next to no plot. Thirdly, Layla was an idiot as well as Harris.
SPOILERY BITS AHEAD
For instance, Harris - after Layla came to his office to use sex to get her way - tied her up whilst doing the sex to then turn it around and make Layla promise not to involve herself in the operation. Layla then felt ‘betrayed’ because he used sex to manipulate her when that was EXACTLY WHAT SHE WAS PLANNING ON DOING?
Make it make sense.
Then, Layla to get ‘revenge’ on her not consenting to being tied up in the first place (which yes, valid) she ROOFIED HARRIS in order to tie him up.
She DRUGGED him. What in the actual fuck.
The sex scenes were okay, not the best or most erotic I’ve read. I think the characters were so incredibly bland that I just didn’t care.
I feel like I’m missing an entire book that should’ve come before this book. There are many references to past events, events that sounds much more exciting than what is happening in this book, I can’t find a book that would have come before this book. Secondly, don’t get me wrong, I love sex in books, but this book is all sex and zero plot of events! And finally, nowhere in the books blurb did it say it was a short novella, so I feel confused and little like I was scammed into thinking I was getting this great story that totally fell short. Needless to say that I was disappointed. I usually love all books by this author, so I will not be reading the rest of the Alpha One Security series.
4 stars Alpha One Security – Harris is the first book in this series by Jasinda Wilder and the first book I have read by this author. It is entertaining, thrilling, suspenseful and full of tension. It is a little erotic, sexy, steamy and hot, hot, hot.
Alpha One Security is owned and run by Nick Harris and like is bunch of unlikely misfits they are previous military men and mercenaries with somewhat hearts. They can be hard as stone but big teddy bears when they want to be. They don’t love or so they say but Nick has met his match when it comes to Layla especially in the bedroom, but he doesn’t want to see her as anything else but his to protect and that may just be his downfall.
When things get tough so do these alpha men who made me laugh with their wit and banter, sigh with their tender hearts and heart in throat when they get into the action and swoon when it gets sexy.
I love Jasinda's Badd Brother series, if you are looking for some great hot, awesome lovable dudes!! I saw this on my Audible Romance Package so I grabbed it up and loved every second. Such a great listen. Summer Roberts & Tyler Donne, were the narrators ... I am new 2 the both of them. FUN listen. I might check out the other 3 books in this series when I find the time ... so many to read at the moment ... never a dull reading moment. Lots to check out!! I love all the detailed moments in this read ... what the office looks like, all that etc. etc. etc. stuff ... always love the details!! Must read. Check it out. If you are waiting for the next Badd book .. like me. LOL! ( ;
Harris and Layla are from the Alpha series that revolve around Kyrie and Valentine. This is their own little book after all the ordeals from the Alpha series and the first book in the Alpha One Security series. We're moving onto the team that Harris has put together for his new business. I imagine every books will focus on a different member of Alpha One Security, Thresh's book is next and I'm really excited for that one because he is hilarious. Anyway, onto this book!
I really enjoyed this book for certain reasons, as well as had issues with this book for certain reasons. Let's start with what I liked: We get to go deeper into the world of Harris and see what he's really about and get even more background on him than we did before. We start to see his and Layla's relationship progressing and going strong, because I'll be honest, I was nervous for them with their track records of relationships and essentially sucking at them. Finally introduced to the entire Alpha Team and they all have very unique and colorful personalities, they bring a good vibe to the book and how the team operates. As expected for this series spin-off, there is lots of panty soaking sex scenes in it, so that's a plus in anyones book.
What's not a plus and literally the only reason I gave this four stars: This book is novella length, stops at 66% because there are two previews in the back of it. I'm always ok with that, it's not the issue I have. My issue is the above mentioned sex scenes take up so much of this book that I felt it should have been longer for more story or less sex with the same page count, either would have been fine. The problem with the sex is it almost took away from the storyline, resulting in this not being as awesome of a plot as the Alpha series had. And the last thing that drove me crazy in this book is Layla, unfortunately. I love that Layla has a backbone, more heroines need them, but she was kind of out of control in this book, to me anyway.
I still liked the concept of this series and did like the book in general, getting to know Harris and Layla more and see into their relationship past Kyrie and Valentine. So I'm going to read Thresh's book next, I just hope it's not the same issues, but we can only see.
I was pleasantly surprised by a cover reveal that appeared in my Facebook feed the other day. When I read the description I almost died on the spot!
Though I love Kyrie and Roth, I wanted to know more about Harris and Layla. It was awesome to see how their relationship has progressed since Omega. Harris loved Layla like something fierce and would do anything to protect her. When she was kidnapped in the previous book, he promised himself that it would never happen again. When a dangerous case for his firm Alpha one Security comes up, he is determined to make her stay put. Layla is not a stay at home kind of girl. She was determined to help, even if Harris told her no.
I freaking loved the continuation of their story and the hotness between them was bananas! Thresh is back and we also get introduced to some new characters as well. Looking forward to the next book!
Really wanted to love this, but I just couldn't. The story line is seriously lacking and it reads like a porno. Little bit of plot and A LOT OF SEX, cue porn music. I'm glad it was free, but I have no desire to read the rest of the series. Sadly Wilder just isn't for me. I felt no tie to the characters and was annoyed at their inconsistent behaviors. This could have been so much more.
Ooooo! What a wonderful, hot sneak peek into a new series! Catch up with Layla and Harris and see if Harris can actually maintain control of the feisty Layla. Now that Valentine Roth is holed up n his island, he doesn't need Harris for security. Harris has assembled his own team of bada$$ dudes and is doing very well for himself int he security business. Layla wants to be his partner not only in the bedroom but also in the field.
Great introduction to the team. Looking forward to seeing if the others will get their HEA and what kind of woman will be knocking them off their feet.
Hot bonus scene from Roth and Kyrie at the end of the book.
This was a good 3.5 stars. I liked it but.... that's really all I have for you. It was a good story, interesting characters who were so different. I enjoyed the action and romance but felt like the sex was too much. Everything about the sex was blunt and I dunno. I haven't really wrapped my head around what to say.
I opted for the audiobook for this story. I absolutely love the narrators have loved the narrators since the alpha beta omega series. Nick Harris is such an awesome guy! Nick, his girlfriend Layla, and his security are in pursuit of really bad guys in this installment.
Follow the A1 guys as they once again prove the good guys always win!!!
Read Thresh and fell in love. Went back to Harris, not so much. I felt like the story was already in motion by the time I got onboard of the train if you get what I mean. And Layla, well, I like forward women, but she came on too strong for my taste.
That won't stop me from devouring the rest of the series!
I could not get in to this book & I really tried. I don't know if it was the way it was written or if it was that the couple were already together & we know diddly about their background. I must admit I kept skipping through as it held little interest to me. It also ended at 67% & that also rattled me. I'm sorry but this book did absolutely nothing for me.
This book would awesome if the darn sex scenes wasn't so overrated. Come on 40 orgasm REALLY! What type of labido she have? (gees! lol) and now it has jumped to different stories of other people or a different book.
Couldn't get into this book. Started off all about sex and never ended. Thought the kidnapped 3yr old girl and plot would help, alas just more sex so whose added into the story. Couldn't finish the book and won't continue with the series.
I absolutely loved it. it was great! Lyla and Harris despite his worries make a great team. in the bedroom and out! this book was sexy and bad ass. I could not put it down!
