Sophie Elliott has found a cure for Alzheimer’s. With a drug company stalking her and a sister and Mom who need her help, she has to leave Chicago fast. When she meets Ryan, she knows his home could be the safest place for her—until she tells him a secret that changes everything.
For the last five years, Ryan Evans has been riding the wave of country music super-stardom. He has everything he’s ever wanted, more money than he knows what to do with, and a reputation that’s been shredded to a pulp. When he meets Sophie he knows he’s in trouble.
With more at stake than either of them realize, they have to work together to keep everyone safe—even if it means giving up the one thing that could change their lives forever.
Discover the magic of Montana in PLAYING FOR KEEPS, the second book in the Emerald Lake series. All of Leeanna's series are linked. If you meet a character you like, you could find them in another book. Happy reading!
Leeanna Morgan is a USA Today bestselling author. She lives in New Zealand surrounded by green hills on one side and the ocean on the other. She enjoys going for long walks, especially if she can convince her husband and two children to go with her!
Leeanna writes contemporary romances set in Montana. Her books contain all of the things that are important to her; good friends, family, a strong sense of community, and a happy ending.
I am not really into stories about billionaires; but I did enjoy this book. I like the relationship that grows between Sofie and Ryan. I like that Sofie is a person who could care less about the money Ryan has. She grows to love him for the person he is not for the money he has. The money that Ryan has spent on her she pays back much to Ryan’s consternation. This is very different from Ryan’s ex-wife who is trying to get every dollar she can get.
I would love to read a love story between Hayley and Tank. Tank is the body guard for Sofie’s sister Hayley and their Mother. I felt the Author was trying to build a relationship between Tank and Hayley which could be used as another volume in the series. I don’t see where the Author has done that.
I like that there is very little profanity if any. I also like the fact that there isn’t any sexually explicit activity in the book. It is just very good storytelling. I think it shows the Author’s expertise at telling a good story.
Sweet story about a heroine in trouble over a secret formula to cure Alzheimer's and the rich country music star who rescues her. The whole story is almost ridiculously improbable, but it's sweet and entertaining. I enjoyed reading it, even though the Alzheimer's bits didn't fit the progression in the many people I've known, and the "cure" of an herbal supplement concoction was even more improbable, especially when supposedly created by a genetic microbiologist. It was more fantastical than the fantasies I love to read. Still, once the disbelief was suspended the multiple times required, it was an entertaining story.
Sophie is in danger and her car breaks down and Ryan helps her, and neither knows that they have stumbled on the person that would change their lives. Ryan is a wonderful and kind man that wants to help Sophie, if only she would trust him with her troubles. Sophie doesn't want to put Ryan in danger, yet when things happen, Ryan insists on helping her. They both struggle with the dangers inherent with their individual lives, and finally realize that they belong together. Such a wonderful story!
Playing for Keeps is the romantic suspense story about Sophie and Ryan. This is one of my favorite books by Leeanna Morgan. Ryan and Sophie meet on the side of the road, when she runs out of gas. She’s running to stay safe. I won’t leave any spoilers, but I will say this book kept me flipping the pages to see what was going to happen next. I love that we get to catch up with previous characters and meet new characters that we can read about next.
This story brings you front and center for what is happening to Ryan and Sophie. Both are people who care deeply for the good of others, however, as they begin to know one another there are others who want what they have and it doesn't seem they'll stop until harm has been done. There is intrigue, friendship, love, and a bit of scare thrown in for a good read from start to finish!
I really liked this story about two totally different people that fall in love anyway. As usual Leanne Morgan's characters are very likeable. She also brings in characters from previous books and ties them together . I also liked the story about two relevant concerns today - Alzheimer's and natural medicine.I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Sophie develops a formula to help dementia and has to go on the run from someone trying to steal it. She runs out of gas and a country star comes to her aid. She ends up hiding at his house and falls in love with him. They find their happily ever after in Bozeman.
I really enjoy good strong characters. There are quite a few in this story: Sophie, Tess, Dorothy, Jamie and more. The story was engaging and kept moving swiftly. I liked that it wasn't sickly sweet or soppy. Good that it was clean too. A good ending too. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
sweet love story with tension and fast paced action
Even though the conclusion was obvious from the minute Ryan stopped on the road to help Sophie, it was a totally enjoyable read. The tension of “bad guys” coming after Sophie because of her formula added a really interesting twist.
The scientist, Sofie, and the Rock Star, Ryan, are an unusual pairing. Sofie is in trouble and Ryan comes to her rescue and they become friends. Their romance is a sweet, slow burn. They first become friends and slowly Sofie tells Ryan all her problems and he solves most of them. They eventually get their HEA.
Ryan and Sophie have stressful lives and very different lives. Can they make a life together and battle all the obstacles? Two very different lifestyles can live with love for each other.
This book had so much drama and suspense. It really keeps you guessing. I loved all the main characters and the stories that went with each of them. The different love stories were pure awesome. I really enjoyed this book from start to finish.
I loved the characters in this story, and how they connected and lifted each other up. I also enjoyed reading a mystery/love story that wasn't full of sexual content.
Very well written book about a country singer and a microbiologist. The microbiologist has found a treatment for Alzheimer's disease and it on the run from those trying to steal her formula.
I really enjoyed this book. It was good clean romance with suspense to it. I loved the storyline and the kind caring people. Looking forward to your next book.
One of the best stories I've read in while! I am hesitant to get the "sweet" books because they can be a bit too sweet and without enough tension for a great story. This is a great read.
This series started out great and Playing for Keeps certainly maintained that high level of quality and interest! I'm looking forward to the rest of this series!
I have read and reread her stories... I never tire of them! They are my "feel good go to"! Every plot is page turning, with always a happy ending. Bravo!
Excellent clean romance story. Better than Hallmark with a "Happy Ever After" ending. Leeanna Morgan's books are a great escape from the stresses of life.
This book was better than the first. At least the main characters were shown getting to know on another and connecting before they plunge into happily ever after.
The premise was a bit week for Sophie's need to run (insert eye roll here, really??) but I overlooked it because everything else was cute enough. I'd read this again
An other great story by Leeanna Morgan. Some tension but not too much. And of course there was a happy ending. I like the return of the same characters.
Ryan is such a down to earth person, even though he is rich. Sophie is so thoughtful especially to her mom and sister. She doesn't like to ask for help. They meet up just outside the town. They have a lot of ups and downs due to her job. Love the mystery about her issues in here. Love the characters from the town. The security company John runs is included in here. Love the ending. Can't wait to read the next one.
