Two damaged men...

Sevrin lost his innocence and his voice a long time ago - but that doesn't mean he's stopped dreaming. And on the night that the circus comes to town, he's ready to put those dreams into action, hitching a ride far away from his abusive family.

Finding their healing in each other...

Lucian's been running from his own tragic past for years, and the Cirque du Shift is a welcome vehicle for his own desire to get far, far away. When his mate shows up, hurt and alone, Lucian knows that everything is about to change.

The only question is, can he meet those changes head on... or will he run from them?

This title was previously published as Cirque du Shift. It has been revised and edited for publication with LoveLight Press.

Kady Stewart is the author of the new, steamy gay romance series, Fall.

When I was just discovering the idea of romantic love, my mother was very keen that I had a crush or relationship with someone "suitable". They needed to be from the right background and with the right personality to please her.

Unfortunately for her, that memo never really made it into my rule-book. I fell in love with the unsuitable types, and that's the basis of what I write today. I embrace characters with age differences. Mismatched species. Power differentials. Characters who are related a little more closely than some people find comfortable. Heroes who are twisted and dark, but do care deeply for their object of desire in their own special way. If you read my books, you'll see that...

Love Has No Boundaries.

Powerful and moving novella about two people healing and finding their way toward each other. The Cirque du Shift is a magical place with shifters and other magical/paranormal people who take in Sevrin when he runs from horrific abuse. Yes, he Lucien's mate but is Lucien willing to take that on? Is Lucien worthy? Does he deserve a mate? Is his mate ready or is he still too damaged, too skittish? Meanwhile Sevrin knows none of this. The story is about each of them finding strength and peace individually and then finding home in each other. My heart ached for Sevrin and I cheered for each stride he made. Lucien's patience and tenderness was sweet as well. This wasn't a hot and heavy story; it really was character driven. I wish we had more. I think this would be a great environment to set a series in and it would give us a chance to peak back in on the main characters. (Hint, hint Cait!)
I love this author's works. They all have a real emotional impact and this is no exception.

I enjoyed this story. It was a relatively short story. There were several places in the story that I would love to see expanded especially some of the backstory. There was one scene I had trouble following but I believe I understand what was going on. I found most of the characters really fun and a few I despise with good reason. I would really like to know more about the circus and it's performers.

Note: This review is a work in progress and maybe edited in the future.

This romance was a bit melancholy. Sevrin goes through some horrific abuse and that story was too short for me to get a read on how compatible her and Lucian really are. I didn't feel their chemistry. Instead, they are insta-mates who seem to accept being together instead of really wanting it.

This one was just "okay" for me.
