Over the last couple of years, I have developed a liking for collections of short stories. I also enjoy reading erotica from time to time and when I heard about this book, I was keen to read. I am pleased to say this book has met or even exceeded my expectations. Each story is of a different length from very short to quite substantial. They are a well written variety of fiction stories and the erotic escapades are truly hot! Sometimes when I have read an erotic book in the past, I have found it to be a poor story which just links the sex scenes. These stories are excellent in their own right and being quite short, the author is able to explore sexuality in a mix of scenarios. I am now of the opinion, short stories are particularly suited to erotic romance. Looking at this author's bio, I see she has written award winning books in other genres and also a book providing writing tips, which doesn't surprise me. This book is full of quality writing and I look forward to reading more of this author's books. Hopefully, she will produce some more erotic romance!

Who could pass up reading a collection of ten erotic romance short stories?

Since I enjoyed reading all ten erotic romance stories in Interludes, I decided to only provide a general book review instead of individual reviews. But I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the contemporary erotic romance Night Nurse was my favorite story, it touched my heart and left a smile on my face.

Interludes is a sexy collection of erotic romance short stories that has a well balanced mixture of romances including contemporary erotic romance, menage a trois romance, shifter romance, alien romance, and historical romance, that will appeal to everyone. From sweet to hot romances; to friendship and second chances; to a variety of real life issues that the characters deal with, the reader will experience an enjoyable and steamy erotic romance short stories that will leave them wanting more.

In Interludes, author Harmony Kent weaves an intriguing and thoroughly enjoyable unique collection of ten erotic romance short stories that have engaging characters and enough drama, humor, and passionate romances that will easily draw the reader into each story, sweeping them away to the variety of English settings, while holding them captivated and leaving them breathless.

Harmony Kent is just starting to write books that are erotic and in this book you will see all the different types of stories that she has created. I was a little skeptical of this book when I first started reading it but it is made up of short stories as you go on into each chapter. I started to enjoy reading each of them, and throughout the book it is quite steamy which you shall discover.

I would describe one of the stories to you but considering there is quite a few of them I am going to leave it to you to decide which ones you'll read. It wouldn't be fair if I had to pick one which was my favourite, but I do recommend that you give Harmony Kent's book a try and you'll never know what you'll expect when you start reading. Overall I did enjoy each story but the one thing that did get to me a bit was that the pace of it was way too quick, normally I prefer books that have a balanced pace so that you can grasp a better understanding of the story. I hope that you do enjoy this book as much as I have.

Merriam-Webster defines interlude as a usually short simple play or dramatic entertainment, and this is what Harmony Kent gives her readers here. Contained within these pages are ten erotic short stories each of which are sure to warm the cockles of your hearts on these cold wintry nights as well as days. And even if it’s not winter the same emotion can also be easily felt.

If you’ve read as many romance novels as I have and then have written a review for them during the past 2 ½ years then you’re realized there’s practically no genre of romance, aside those which are Young Adult, Inspirational, Christian and the like, which can’t be transformed into one can be looked at as being erotic.

Ms. Kent in the stories she’s written for this anthology, from the typical contemporary most romance readers love to read, to those of a more specific genre like historical or even sci-fi, to sure delight a wide audience of readers. And even though you might have never read something in a specific genre like historical, you might now want to read more of. Regardless of the specific genre for each of these stories, the characters are quite realistic as in real life, and the level of the sex is quite vivid with a variety of the level of heat involved.

These stories are a quick read which are easily while you have a quick breakfast and your favorite mug of Joe. These stories are not meant to be read once and placed away somewhere on your KINDLE, they’re meant to be read anytime time you’re in need to have an erotic fantasy on your mind instead of the mundane daily routine. It is for this reason, I’ve given Ms. Kent 5 STARS for her endeavor here.

High-quality erotic short-stories

I’ve been an avid reader of Harmony Kent’s books for a while so expecting high-quality texts from her is a given. However, I was particularly excited to learn she had decided to venture in the erotica genre. Not only because I’m a writer of erotic romances but mostly because the addition of talented authors to this genre is always quite welcome. And Harmony has disappointed me at all. Her creativity shines through right from the presentation where she explains to the readers the concept behind each short-story’s word-count, which was born as writing challenge Harmony proposed to herself. Isn’t that awesome?
As for the texts, she made sure to give readers an impressive variety of styles that range from shifter romance, to menage, to aliens, to historical, and to contemporary romance. There are also many different themes to satisfy all tastes: second chances, sweet romance, sexy romps, lighthearted interactions, and dramatic situations. But in all of the stories readers will find complex characters dealing with real-life issues everyone can relate to. What else is there to expect from a good book, right? Interludes has it all.

This is much more than your everyday collection of erotic fiction. Like the sampler platter at a fine restaurant, each serving in unique, tantalizing, and completely delicious. Here you will experience a little of everything: a smorgasbord of sexual tastes and fantasies. More than that, it showcases a talented writer stretching her wings.

The stories range from 1,000 words in the first chapter, to 10,000 words in the last. Each story is complete, well-developed, and interesting, with a wide range of characters and scenarios. All are sexy - of course - and have a linking theme of romantic fulfillment. (I certainly felt fulfilled after reading each one!) My only suggestion is, given the hugely differing genres and moods of each story, it helps to take a good break in between, in order to digest one thoroughly before reading on.

Some of my favorites:

- Grey Manchester: loved the surprising twist
- Love on the Cornish Line: super-steamy sex on a train!
- Night Nurse: beautiful, heartfelt romance
- Overboard: I'd like to get wrecked on that island...
- Alien Liaison: ... and I'd like to get wrecked on that planet!

I enjoyed this collection of short, erotic romance stories by author Harmony Kent. They cover a variety of romance genres from contemporary to sci-fi to historical. The sex scenes are graphic, steamy and well written. The storylines are creative and engaging. There is a diverse line up of characters: dragons, aliens and amputees among others. You are sure to find something you like amongst these stories.

My personal favourites were “The Inlaw.” A contemporary story featuring a 43-year-old woman who was seduced by a man half her age. Catching her masturbating, he asks, “Can I help you with that?” *Fans self.*

I also loved “Alien Liaison.” A sci-fi featuring a hot, ripped alien with skin that was blue and felt like velvet and...wait for it...his member was ribbed. Yeah, let that sink in!

I recommend this to all fans of romance and erotica, especially if you like to read something a little different.

Interludes is a book of short stories. This book is a series of erotic short stories set up to be a certain size. The first story is 1000 words, and the second story, which is chapter 2 is 2000 words and so on through chapter 10. This is very interesting as you can choose which story to read, depe nding on how much time you have to spend on reading. I found all of the stories quickly puling me in. I would recommend this story for anyone who enjoys erotic stories, and there are some for everyone, from paranormal, to alien encounters to historical. Of course there is adult situations and language so this book is for adult readers.

MY REVIEW OF INTERLUDES

Confession: I bought this book because I'm a dirty middle-aged man.

I wasn't disappointed. Reading it (and there are loads of stories to excite a palate - and other elements - such as mine) was near enough like going on a rollercoaster ride with Beyonce beyouncing up and down on my lap or travelling from Lands End to John O'Groats with Kim Kashardian on a nineteen forty-nine Buick Roadmaster, stopping off overnight for a nice sleep at 47 Premier Inns on the way.

From ribbed members to women of a certain age desperately jerking off, this powerful collection of short erotikicks from Harmony Kent had me climbing the enchanted walls.My review of Interludes

Interludes is a collection of short erotic stories. There is something for everyone here, across a wide variety of genres and heat levels. I enjoyed every story. Harmony Kent brings each character to life and brings more to the collection than just sex. Her characters are very human, and their sexual side is vividly portrayed here. Interludes is a great collection that I'll read over and over.

The shorts stories were quick reads and I enjoyed them immensely. There were several stories that would make great books! There were some surprises along the way too that I didn't expect, like aliens. The stories were well written and I'd recommend this book collection, for adults only though, as it is explicit.

Here is a piece of work by an author willing to stretch herself in more than one way, if you’ll pardon the pun. Rarely do I find good erotica—that which holds my attention from the beginning to the end, whether it be a novel or an anthology. Too many ‘authors’ seem to believe that erotica revolves around continual sex scenes (minus hygiene or preparation), people in debt and magical potions.
As a writer of erotic fiction, I am by default also a reader of the genre, and this collection, in my opinion, is above average. Harmony Kent has brought together a wide range of themes and created a collection which commences with a 1,000-word story and progressively builds to a satisfying climax with a 10,000-word story. Each is a cohesive tale with a beginning, a middle and an end.
On most occasions, I refrain from reviewing erotica because it pains me to write scathing and damning public feedback. This book, on the other hand, comes highly recommended by me as an example of how the job should be done.
I will happily check out the author’s other work of whatever genre.

I don't usually read erotic fiction. No, not because I'm prudish (have you read certain scenes in my book?) - but because erotic fiction is usually sandwiched in with romance, which is really not my jam.

Harmony Kent's collection of short erotic stories in Interludes certainly has moments of romance, but also moments of suspense, drama, and even supernatural themes! The first few tales in Interludes are short and punchy - very to the, er, rock hard point, but as the tales continue, they grow in length (pun intended), and become meatier so to speak. Characters are more fleshed out (again, pun intended), given intriguing backstories, and tossed into some complex plots...all with an undercurrent of hot hot hot sexual tension.

Kent doesn't shy away from detail in the steamy scenes, which is exactly what you want in a good erotic short story. There's no innuendo or camera panning to the sunset here! So, if you want a well-rounded bunch of stories that will burn your socks off with their heat, get your hands on a copy of Interludes today!

Readers looking for a little afternoon delight will get just that with this collection of erotic stories set amidst all your favorite genres. From menage to historical to paranormal to sci-fi, readers will get quickly caught up in the sensual haze these tales engender with each turn of the page. Those there's a lack of polish, a bit of incompleteness to some of the stories, I still found myself entertained by these naughty tales and think others will too.

As with any anthology some of the stories I preferred over others. The first story to catch my attention was The Inlaw and involved the theme of the older woman/younger man and was a favorite for its divorced heroine who dealt with losing a limb and addressed issues of self-image. Though I would've loved to see her disability dealt with more fully I did enjoy the spunky, strong-willed older heroine and the sexy and playful young man who renewed her faith in herself. A story that was ultimately over far too soon. The next story to catch my eye was Night Nurse for its intensely emotional storyline of a dying woman finding her soul mate on her deathbed. It was heartbreaking but ultimately uplifting in its message of living life to the fullest no matter what the future holds. It's a powerful message in a small package. The weakest of the lot, and one I had high hopes for, was Grey Manchester for its deaf hero. Unfortunately, I felt as though I was dropped into the middle of the story and saw no purpose to the actions of the characters. The remaining stories though were satisfying and steamy and provided a few hours of escapism.

Readers who enjoy erotic tales will find something to whet their appetite in this collection of stories of various genres and word lengths. The British slang throughout further set the stories apart and helped immerse me in the erotic world Ms. Kent crafted. Though it's not a perfect read, it's one I won't soon forget.

When I first started reading Interludes, I wasn't too happy. The stories were too short for me. Just when I was starting to get into the characters, the story ended. That's not to say that they weren't well-written; I have just come to learn that I am more of a novel-length type of reader.

As I continued to read the book, I began to get over the short length (maybe because the short stories also started getting longer). I loved that each story was completely different than any other story in the book. The author did a great job in creating unique characters with varying circumstances. And the sex scenes were just perfect for each story.

I'm not sure if I could pick a favorite, but I think the longer the story was, the more I fell in love with it. In fact, there are a few stories that I think she could probably turn into full length novels if she ever felt like it. All in all, if you are looking for hot, steamy short stories to get your imagination in hyper-drive, you will definitely enjoy this book. :-)

This is my first venture into the world of erotica and I have to say that Harmony Kent did a good job with writing in such a way that I was intrigued and somewhat turned on as I read the different scenarios laid out in the 10 shorts compiled in Interludes. She covered everything from the hot 20 something year old man going for the middle aged woman with a handicap and sex so hot it sizzled off the page, to a historical interlude where syphilis took its toll. I have to say the scenario with the alien was the one I enjoyed the most and I could see Harmony stretching into the future and another galactic planet to include superior medical capabilities as well as the communication between human and alien. All in all, she did a good job. Great imagination!

Erotic Interludes

I was intrigued by a collection of short erotic fiction rather than a novella or novel. I’m no stranger to explicit romance, so I thought I’d give this a try.

I have to say, this wasn’t what I expected, but it was breathtakingly fresh.

These days, explicit sex in a story isn’t scandalous. In fact, it’s become standard, or at least commonplace. But Kent has managed to take something that can become cliché and stereotypical and turned it into something I’d never seen before.

This isn’t Barbie- and Ken-type characters having mindless sex one afternoon; these are wonderfully complex characters being swept away. An amputee, a terminally-ill patient, a discarded and left-for-dead employee… real life people with real life emotions who accept real life consequences for their actions. Some of these stories are cute, some are emotionally draining, but all are a beautiful exploration of consensual couples from all walks of life sharing themselves with each other.

If you read erotica, you owe it to yourself to read this collection.
