This is an alternate title/cover edition for B019W1EJAE

A SERIAL KILLER IS ON THE LOOSE. AND IT MAY BE IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEAT HIM.

When the FBI assigns the Crucifix Killer case to Special Agent Gabi Longoria and her partner/lover Ian Armory, they’re confident they’ll catch the sadistic killer quickly. But the case is not as straightforward as it first seemed. The serial killer's M.O. keeps changing. Are they in fact dealing with two killers? Or just someone unusually cunning? Clues lead the agents to believe they might be dealing with Meta-humans. Metas are genetically engineered humans with superior abilities and previously thought to be peaceful. Scientists have created about 8,000 metas in total. If they're becoming violent, the world is going to become a very scary place…

NOTE: THE CRUCIFIER is a stand-alone thriller previously known as FRIENDING THE DEVIL.

Theres a killer on the loose. He becomes known as the Crucifix Killer. His MO doesn't stay consistent though, can there be two killers? If only one killer they must be super strong to nail people to walls all on their own.
Scientists genetically modified some humans and they became known as meta-humans. They created 8000. Are these meta-humans becoming dangerous? This case gets handed to Gabi and Ian, FBI Agents. Ian is a meta-human though and at one point becomes a possible suspect.

Written quite well and keeps the pages turning. Plenty of in depth background information filling gaps where need be. All round good read.

Too simplistic I thought, no big words to decipher. Poor characters that just didn’t grab me. Give me a British police drama anytime. If these two are ‘special’ special FBI agents, I don’t hold out much hope for the rest of the FBI, good job this was a work of fiction. I actually finished the book but was acutely disappointed with the poor storyline. Could have been so much better if the ambling way we were directed over the sub characters was improved. I cannot recommend the book.

A little too much long descriptive passages interrupt the flow of this book. The characters seemed to developed well. The serial killer was successfully not revealed until almost the end and it did come as a surprise to me. I did finish the book so it obviously kept my interest in spite of my dislike of the long descriptive passages.
