Life can take you by surprise, it can also put you through hell. My fate was never my own to deal with. It was ruined before I even had a chance. It was a rough start and it hasn’t gotten much better. Hiding behind the walls of my room is how I get through each day. Destroyed doesn’t even begin to describe the way my life has been. Finally, I get away and things are looking up. Of course nothing can go right and some things are just too much to bear. In comes the one thing I can’t have. I’ve read so many books and I know the drill. Rock stars and musicians are not for me. I can’t hide when they are always in the light. Something about him makes me want to step into that light, though. He is constantly bringing me to new levels and places I could never imagine. The secrets I’ve tried to keep to myself are breaking into my new life. Having him around is helping but the outside world ruins us as well. I either have to take the chance and let him in or push him away once and for all. Every time I pull away he is right back here pushing his way back in. He is relentless, he is everything I shouldn’t have. Those secrets I tried to keep hidden begin to surface, bringing havoc to our lives. The world so desperately wants to keep us apart and I might just let it to keep my secrets. Do I sit back and let the world pass me by or do I finally let those wounds heal and have the life he thinks I deserve?

Look for her in the trees enjoying nature’s wonders, traveling to see the latest animal conservations, or at aquariums all around the world. This girl loves nature and all animals. She has many pets and is always adding new additions. The more the merrier in her mind. Sitting under the shade reading a book, letting the world around her pass by, while she is safe in her bubble of imagination. Well that is where she’d love to stay. She is a softball player, can be talked into the occasional Karaoke and loves going out to dance. She is a first generation Canadian living in Ontario. Her family is from Scotland, so finding her in the hot sun for very long is unlikely, but give her rain and thunderstorms and she’s golden.

There are only so many puns I can deal with.

Let's play a game: how many times can the author use this female protagonist's name ironically before I've run out of facepalms?

'I think my fate might be sealed.'
'My fate was never my own.'
'We are fated.'
'Forever, that's fate.'
'Has their fate already been sealed or can they make this work?'
'Always telling me it was her fate.'
'Maybe with a little help from fate...'
'But I can change fate.'
'Take fate by the hand.'
'Me or fate itself.'

Omigosh we get it!! The girl's name is Fate!!

Forever in a day.....

This was not what I expected when I downloaded this read. And beautifully destroyed is a very apt name. The circumstances are tragic. The solution was an amazing thing to read about. I'm not going into detail but I recommend this book.

Fate McKenzie wants to start a new life at the University of Pennsylvania; which is long ways away from Orlando, Florida. She hopes that it might just be what she needs to escape the demons she is running from. That is until she meets Cameron McAlister, is a rock star who is looking to change the bad boy image the world sees.

So much of who Cameron is brings back memories that Fate does not want to relive. Both Fate and Cameron will need each other’s help if they hope to take baby steps into becoming someone new. Running from demons they do not want to face, is it Fate that brought them together? Or will the past come back to haunt them?

First things first, once you pick up this story, you will not want to put it down. Gracie Wilson has this ability to make the characters so unbelievably relatable. Even though Cameron is a rock star, you know what it feels like to try to shed an image people have of you. You feel Fate's pain of not wanting to relive painful memories. You are able to take the journey with them through the good times, and the bad.

Right from the start you know Fate has been through hell and back. However, you only get bits and pieces until it all comes together halfway through the book. I really believed I knew what happened to Fate, and why she is the person she is today. Boy was I wrong! You better hold onto your hats, because when you find out the truth, you won't see it coming.

This is the first book in a series. I cannot wait to see what else Gracie Wilson has in store for Fate and Cameron. I highly recommend you take a chance and read this incredible story; you won't be disappointed!

Emotional Ride

Cameron and Fate's story will put you through an emotional grinder.
Cameron is a rockstar trying to keep a low profile while attending college.
Fate is an emotional wreck due to abuse.
They end up helping one another stay grounded.
Be prepared for tears and Hang on for this emotional ride.
This is my first book from Gracie.
I'm hooked.

This book absolutely wrecked me. It is well written with a well thought out plot. The characters absolutely came to life for me. I have to admit I had to put the book down a few times because the subject matter got pretty tough. Strength of character and love make everything it takes to get there worth it.

Gracie my gosh what an amazing story. From the ashes of abuse Fate is drawn out by Cameron. They are made for each other but life is hard after life trauma. Gracie made it so real and beautiful.

Wow...this book makes you believe in fate..

I truly loved this story. You feel the emotion of the characters, the love, the pain, all of it. The author grabs hold of your heart for the whole story. This is a great read for some destroyed emotions and love.

Incredibly touching story. Parts of the story were hard to read, there was a deep trigger in this book. Can't wait to pick up more by Gracie Wilson.

This is a good book but very slow paced to the point it became boring. The action didn't pick up until the end of the book. Cameron and Fate are great characters and I did like how they dealt with their demons. I did get a little burned out on Fate be used so many times but still a book worth reading.

Book one in the Beautifully series, Beautifully Destroyed, is the story of Fate. Fate has built walls taller and thicker than The Great Wall in China around her. Not only to keep people at arms length, but to keep the past away as well. Remembering could destroy her even more.

Three weeks after turning 18, Fate leaves everything and everyone she has ever known. Fate leaves Orlando and heads to Pennsylvania to attend college. The unknown scares not only Fate, but Clarissa, her one time child welfare worker and now the only family Fate has.

Fate has never had friends to speak of, due to her past, and isn't sure what to expect when she learns her roommate is not the female she expected. The day after moving into her dorm room, she meets her roommate, Cameron McAlister. Unknown to Fate at first, Cameron is the lead singer of Ten Ways Gone and is well known as a "bad boy rocker". When Fate learns of his true identity, she fears that all of the attention he receives will have bad implications for her.

I really enjoyed this book. The story line was an interesting one. I'm sure others have read books with similar plots/characters, but this one was a first for me. This story evoked so many emotions, it's hard to focus on a single one. There is empathy for Fate, sadness when you learn of what she has been through, pain for what it does to her in the present as well as others. My favorite quote in this book is "There comes a time when you have to just say, 'screw it world, I'm here'". This ends up being a powerful mantra in the story, and it fits!

My least favorite part of the book is rather early on. In chapter 4, after just the first week of classes and after not knowing each other long, Cameron says to Fate, "Oh the ice princess can feel things." This bothers me because it seems to me that he hasn't known her long enough to be able to judge if she is an "ice princess" or not. Maybe it's just me, but that stuck with me.

I can't go into my absolute favorite part of the book, because it contains spoilers (and that isn't my style) but I will say it is a great part for Fate, and it is near the end.

I can say that my second favorite part of the book is Fate's budding friendship with Cecilia. Girlfriend of Cameron's band mate Scott. Fate needs that type of a person in her life and I am so glad she found it in Cecilia!

I give this book a ♥♥♥♥.

A new-to-me author, I came at this read with really no idea what I was getting, but love taking chances...
In theory, this book works really well. The outline of it, the characters and their backstory, the setting and situations, etc., everything is there for a really great, tragic love story. Fate and Cameron are both very young, but fascinating characters who blend beautifully for an angsty, tragic love story with an HEA. Fate’s ‘issues’ could easily have come across as superficial, but Wilson does a great job of giving her a sense of inner strength that keeps her from being a statistical victim. And while Cameron could easily have been a stereotype, he ends up with unexpected conviction in himself that keeps the story moving along. So, I liked it. I do think that the play on Fate’s name was really overused as at times got in the way of the flow of the story more than once. It was obviously going to play a huge part in the subtext from the get go, but then it just became a bit much further down the line. Also, I felt like some scenes just went on too long. I ended up skimming a lot about 2/3 through because I felt like I was re-reading the same general scenes repeatedly. They were good scenes, but once was enough. I’m all for the insta-love or insta-attraction, but I was a little confused about Cameron’s attraction to Fate in the beginning. I went back to it a couple times thinking I missed something about their initial meeting, or how she went from uber-sheltered, damaged psyche to ‘yeah, I’ll go out to eat with you’. I would have loved to had a longer intro with more about his falling for her than some of the scenes later on that seemed repetitive. Still, a good read, a solid 3 star. I’m assuming each band member is going to get their story? Those secondary characters were really interesting. Recommended for those who like younger characters!

Star Rating - ***.5

Fate is broken. Her past haunts her every moment of the day so she needs to get away and start over. She enrols at UPenn and hopes that she will start to make some friends and begin to blend in. This was never going to be the case when she discovers her new roommate is sexy rock god Cameron. Things start out rocky between the pair but they have connection that compares like no other they have had before.

This was my first read by this author and I enjoyed it. The story flowed at a good pace and kept me reading right till the end. I read this in just 2 sittings. My only qualm with this, was I didn't feel I connected with either of the protagonists. I wasn't fully immersed in the story like I thought I would be. We know that Fate has a back story as it is continually referred to, but we don't find out what this is until very late on in the story. This being said, I would recommend this as a great summer read, especially if hot musicians are your thing :)

A solid 3.5 stars from me.

Another hit by Gracie Wilson. This book made me laugh, made me cry, and at least once made me want to fire my Kindle against the wall and scream "nooooooo" (please don't; it's really bad for the reader, and the ending is worth the wait.
The Beautifully Destroyed is the story of Fate, a young girl starting out on her new, college life while dealing with the deep stars of an abusive past. The college's administrative computer pairs her with Cameron, a young rock musician dealing with his own battle scars. Through a year of baby steps and a lot of stumbles, the two slowly learn that not everyone in the world wants to use or hurt them.
The Beautifully Destroyed is a truly beautiful story of coming back from the edge and learning trust and to embrace the true meaning on the "no Judgement" tattoo Cameron wears over his heart.

Gracie Wilson never fails to put me through an emotional ringer!!! She has done it again.
Fate broke my heart, she went through something no child should ever go through. It scarred her, nearly destroyed her. She was a barely functioning human went she met the badboy rocker.
The love story that followed was beautiful making this book perfectly titled. His patience and understanding made my heart melt. She turned him around too as they try to heal each other!!!
Fate had very deep scars and tall built walls. It was going to take a lot to heal her and break them down she felt completely unlovable. He had anger deep inside that could prove to be too much for her to handle. But I was rooting for them!!!
Again if your looking for an emotional love story Grace is your girl! Her words will tear you apart.

Never have I been so sucked into a book!!! It was all kinds of amazing - definitely different than anything else I've read. I instantly fell in love with the characters, they were so easy to relate to! It was almost like (aside from the rock-star aspect) I was just reading about people I 100% knew! You had me in tears (several times!), laughing and saying "awww" all throughout the book. I've never read a book that made those kind of feelings come out, just from reading! I was definitely NOT expecting the twist, and to see the way that Cameron was trying to protect her, was amazing! (Yes, amazing is the word I most definitely use to describe this book!)... The ending though, was worth all the feelings/emotions that you brought out...

This is an amazing, powerful love story between two broken people. We first meet Fate, when she's moving into her college dorm for the first time. And we learn pretty quickly that this is only the first of firsts for Fate. But we aren't to learn the reason why for a while.

Then we meet Cameron (to his friends), Cam (to his many "friends"). The computer has matched them up as roommates for this year of college. We also learn that Cameron is as damaged as Fate. Who would believe the computer would match up 2 individuals so damaged to live and survive together in the same apartment?

Fate and Cameron are drawn to each other and as we watch Cameron draw Fate out of her ice princess castle, we fall in love with both of them.

Take your first "baby step" and buy this book!

Cameron and Fate meet at school and share a coed apartment. Fate is a basket case because of her previous life. Cameron is the Bad Boy Rocker. They both have lots of issues they need to resolve before they can be together. Will all their issues and an ex girlfriend stand in their way?

Ms. Wilson can write a book that grabs you at the beginning and holds you to the very end. She knows how to tell a story. I had a hard time putting the book down but work got in the way.
