"Ichigo. You may think you're hiding it. But honestly, I couldn't stand watching you since you lost your powers. You wanna fight, don't you? It hurts you that you can't protect those around you, right? You don't have to hide it, Ichigo. That's what makes you who you are." [Chad]

After Ishida's incident, Ichigo, feeling helpless and desperate, comes to the Xcution with hope that the new people he had met could help him somehow. He's shocked to see Chad there. It looks like Chad is working with the Xcution, because all of them have the same goal - to help Ichigo regain his Soul Reaper powers. In exchange for that, the Xcution members are supposed to get rid of their Fullbringer powers - powers coming from their mothers that have encountered Hollows.

Ichigo, who had lived more than a year as just a normal human and who seemed fine with it, jumps immediately into training, still having doubts if it's gonna work. He is not meet with any tips nor hints on how to learn and use his Fullbring power, so he just goes with the flow. His quick thinking and a help from Chad gives him the answer he was looking for all along. And with that he started to feel an emotion he thought he will never feel again - hope. Hope that he will become a Soul Reaper again and have the ability to protect those he loves.

With Volume 50 we also got an introduction to the characters of Shishigawara and Tsukishima - the big bad guys of the story. It looks like Tsukishima is the one responsible for Ishida's accident and now is after the rest of Ichigo's friends. Ginjou thinks that Tsukishima is trying to force Ichigo to stay away from Xcution, but is it really the case? What does Tsukishima really want? Can Ichigo and Xcution defeat him before will be too late to stop him?

Some thing I need to talk about: (be aware of the spoilers, please!)

~ Chad is supposed to not going to school and spending time with the Xcution members, because he wanted Ichigo to regain his Soul Reaper powers. If so, why didn't he ask Ichigo about it before Ichigo had met Ginjou? All Chad did was disappear of the face of the earth and made his friends worry about him until he and Ichigo met at the Xcution's place.
~ If the Xcution's members mothers were indeed attacked by the Hollows and this is how they gained their Fullbringer powers, what does it say about Chad's parents (who we know nothing about) and Masaki Kurosaki (the only one that was actually attacked by a Hollow and nearly died from it)? 🤨
~ "Fullbring is the ability of love! It's the ability to drew out the maximum power of something a person loves!" [Riruka] - if Fullbring is an ability of love, why are the Xcution members so adamant to get rid of these powers? How can an ability of love be possibly tied to Hollows? It doesn't make sense and Ichigo would realize it if he wasn't so absorbed with his need to regain his Soul Reaper powers.
~ Riruka's reaction to seeing Ichigo for the first time was hilarious, but also relatable, because GIRL, SAME 😂
~ Karin and Yuzu acting like they don't care about Ichigo and then beaming like Christmas lights when Ichigo came back home and spoke to them 😂
~ I didn't like how Ichigo was threw into a Fullbringer training without having any clue what a Fullbringer power when is and how to use it. It was an incredibly dangerous stunt and it's lucky that nothing bad had happened.
~ "I love a lot of things! And I'll keep looking for new things to love!" - Riruka is so cute! ☺️
~ Giriko is truly the worst from the Xcution members.
~ I like how proud Chad is about his heritage and his skin color, despite all the problems that they gave him (with the bullies).
~ The scene of Ichigo thinking back on every moment where he was proud of his Soul Reaper powers that ended up with Rukia's image brought me to tears.
~ "I'm Shishigawara from Miyashita High School! Are you miss Inoue? I'm sorry! Do you mind dying a little?" - this is a crazy introduction of a character!
~ Why was Ichigo able to hear Rukia's voice coming out of the badge?? What did Rukia mean (was it about the badge case?) and who was she talking to??
~ I can't even imagine what Ichigo could feel while hearing Rukia's voice after such a long time of silence 😭
~ Ikumi offering to hear out Ichigo, sensing that he's in trouble and saying "Kids are allowed to rely on adults!". I love her and it's a relief that Ichigo has such good people to rely on.

While I remain unconvinced by this new arc, I am curious to find out how mangaka Tite Kubo plans to revive this franchise with his Fullbringers arc.

This volume focuses on Ichigo's training as he goes through a whole new learning curve that slowly allows him to be back as his usual self.

Bleach, Vol. 50 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and contains the next nine chapters (433–441) of the on-going manga series.

Kūgo Ginjō explains to Ichigo Kurosaki that Fullbringers' powers come from the residual spiritual energy from hollows who attacked pregnant mothers and that their powers are greater when used on an object they cherish. Yasutora "Chad" Sado, who had been missing, appears before Ichigo and reveals to be a Fullbringer. Ginjō explains that he and the other members Xcution like restore Ichigo's Soul Reaper powers in order to rid themselves of their Fullbring abilities. Though declines at first, Ichigo accepts to protect his friends and family.

Next day, Ichigo begins how to use the Fullbring abilities by being placed in a dollhouse by Riruka Dokugamine, where he has to defeat an aggressive soul-infused pig plushie under a time limit set by Giriko Kutsuzawa. From the ordeal, Ichigo learns to use his combat past as the focal item to materialize his Fullbring.

Meanwhile, Orihime Inoue is confronted by Moe Shishigawara then by the punk's boss, who introduces himself as Shūkurō Tsukishima before seemingly stabbing her. Confiding to Chad about Shūkurō Tsukishima, Orihime hides what she perceives to be the truth from Ichigo as he returns to Xcution's headquarters to hone his Fullbring by facing Xcution's Jackie Tristan.

This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. It introduces Ichigo Kurosaki to Xcution – a group of Fullbring that can manipulate the souls of any matter. Being a former shinigami, Ichigo Kurosaki is a perfect candidate to becoming a member of Xcution and hones his Fullbring abilities in order to protect those that he loves. Fullbrings are also deeply explored in this tankōbon.

All in all, Bleach, Vol. 50 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more.

Needed to see a bit of my goat today. I love this arc because seeing Ichigo without his powers strips everything away and pits him once again as the underdog. Was incredibly frustrating to see Orihime keep things from him because she doesn't think he can do anything to help. Knowing what's coming I cannot wait man (one volume really should be a 5 im pretty sure) never bet against the ginger kid, he doesn't give up.

We get a little more context into Xcution and what this arc is going to be. Not gonna lie, I love actually spending time in Karakura town as opposed to the Soul Society & Hueco Mundo

In Bleach, Volume 50: The Six Fullbringers, Kūgo Ginjō reveals his plan of how to help Ichigo get his Soul Reaper powers back. He reveals how the Fullbringers got their powers and the role he hopes Ichigo, Chad, and the rest of his team will play in his plan.

Like I said in my review for the last volume, this is Bleach back to its roots. The feeling of this volume is very similar to the Soul Reaper story arc. Tite Kubo reinvented the same wheel but somehow makes it even more exciting and fun.

The fun, silly humor is back in full force and I couldn't be happier. Sure, some of it is over-the-top (Riruka, for instance) but that's what makes Bleach so much fun and addictive. I love how ridiculous it can be in one moment and then the next have you wrought with emotions. You go from laughing to wanting to cry to jumping out of your seat cheering Ichigo on. This is why I love Bleach.

Riruka is so incredibly silly. I love her reaction to Ichigo. Why, yes, Riruka...Ichigo has turned into quite the hottie.

I hope this series never ends. It's just such a good time. After reading some other manga in the interim of waiting for these new volumes to come out, nothing quite hits the spot like Bleach does. That's not to say there aren't other manga out there that are better. It's just that this series has a certain magic for me that I can't get enough of.

Ichigo has started his training to regain his Soul Reaper powers and so far he has gained a little back. We got to see some of Xcution’s members use their fullbring abilities and how they got those abilities. I’m also curious about this Tsukishima guy. This arc is different from previous ones but I’m interested in where it’s going.

This volume was a lot better than the last one. I probably still will not bring it past 4 stars since this arc is my least favorite in all of Bleach except for the Bount Season in the anime...then again the Bount seasons do not exist in the manga which is amazing.

A curious Ichigo has accepted Ginjo’s invitation and gone to see what he has to say. He is more than surprised when Chad shows up, having not seen him at school for a while. Ginjo goes on to explain that everyone there has something in common—parents who were attacked by Hollows before each of them was born. This left them with residual powers that are closer to that of a Hollow than a Soul Reaper. The problem is they are disgusted by this power and want to get rid of it. Through trial and error, they learn that this can be done by transferring the powers to someone who is both soul reaper and human. Ichigo certainly fills that bill! Therefore, if they give their powers to Ichigo, he can be a soul reaper again and they will have gotten rid of them. Win-win, right?

Ichigo agrees to be trained by them for the purpose of taking their powers. But he’s confused when Ruriko brings out a doll house and looks at him expectantly. Seriously? She wants him to train inside that? But she does, and she demonstrates her Fullbring power of doll house, placing him inside the house. Fullbring is the power these people have, one she says Ichigo has too. But he isn’t alone in this place. There is a huge pig there. Ruriko tells him to use his Fullbring power to beat the pig so he can get out of the house. Is that even possible?

Meanwhile, a concerned Orihime goes to Chad’s apartment. But as she stands there, she is addressed by a young man who asks if she would mind dying? But once Orihime turns toward him, the young thug is so stunned by her beauty that he loses focus on why he is there and finds it impossible to attack her. Orihime is polite… until she thinks he attacked Uryu. But another man appears and claims responsibility for the attack.

As Chad and Ichigo walk home together, Chad suddenly realizes there is a problem with Orihime’s spiritual pressure, so the two hurry to her apartment. But when they arrive, Orihime says she’s fine, and a friend had been with her. Ichigo and Chad are confused but can prove nothing. Ichigo calls Ginjo to see if he has any idea what is going on… and he does.

Back to training for Ichigo… this time with Jackie Tristan!

I have to admit this is one of my least favorite Bleach arcs, and I find the Fullbringers annoying. But it’s for a good cause, to help Ichigo regain his soul reaper powers. He has obviously been lost without them, and I know he misses Rukia and Renji and the others. Ruriko is very annoying but I find it amusing that despite her nasty words toward Ichigo she obviously has a huge crush on him. So let’s move through this arc quickly and get on to other things.

Still well worth reading!

This book did not disappoint it really had me thinking of how the new villain will be introduced and how ichigo will defeat him or even if he will defeat him this book made me visualize about the upcoming arc will playout. Also i really liked how ginjo was introduced and his personality and how he was interacting with ichigo.

I like the aesthetic and approach of this arc so far, and I like how the Fullbringers feel like characters from a completely different story and unlike any other group we’ve seen so far. The origin and explanation of their powers are very unique but intriguing, though I admit I haven’t been won over by these characters and this storyline just yet. I like how unique and abstract the Fullbringers’ powers are, but I also felt like I couldn’t tangibly understand them the way that I understand Soul Reapers, Quincies, Arrancars and Visoreds. I loved seeing Orihime stand up to the one who attacked Uryū, and even though she isn’t someone made for battle, you can see how the events of previous arcs have emboldened her without losing her gentle kindness. I liked the little moment between Ichigo and his boss when he asked for time off, it was a cute human moment that this series is so good at delivering. I liked the introduction of the Fullbringer antagonist and I’m curious to see how he fits into the story in future instalments.

the fullbringer arc is just so ichigo can wear a heart pinned to his chest. he deserves it ❤️
lol riruka I also want to collect cute things to surround myself with.
Chad and Orihime are fullbringers!!! this is what happens when you exclude a member of the group come onnn. I wonder why Uryu was hurt so badly while Inoue and Chad aren’t. is it because he’s a Quincy? Orihime’s change of demeanor when she finds out who attacked Uryu is so good. Ichigo’s got her number on his phone huh 🤭
I wish I could turn my bookmarks into swords ⚔️
Tsukishima reminds me of a clamp character with his lanky proportions
Ichigo’s boss telling him to rely on her because she’s an adult and he’s a kid got to me. he really doesn’t have that in his life. (ahem. isshin :/ )

Well, that certainly happened. For a lot of 'events', I don't feel like I've walked away with any exciting, crucial information regarding Kuga Ginjo and his group. Hopefully, that is what volume 51 i for. Still, nice to see some of my favorites (Orihime, Uryuu, Chad/Sado) again! And Ichigo seems to be holding the Idiot Ball this volume - or his desire to regain his abilities is blinding him to common sense. Sigh.

Given that Manga, and especially Shonen is split up into bigger arcs as composed to volumes I will be analyzing and reviewing this by Arc. I also reread this manga over the span of 2 months, some days reading as much as 100 chapters a day. It would be quite tedious for me to review each 7-8 chapter volume. So this will be copy and pasted throughout all of the 72 manga volumes. That being said, if you're looking at this without having viewed the series...spoiler warning. I don't recap anything, but I also mention things that happen. If you want me to answer the question "Should I pick this up?" Yes. Even if you stop at the end of the Soul Society Arc. It's worth it.

Karakura Town Arc - Chapters 1-56 - Rating: 7/10
(The official page lumps this in with the Soul Society Arc however I feel as if they are two very separate arcs with two very separate themes)
- A fun introduction.
-An interesting premise on the idea of ghosts and demons (Hollows)
-Does a good job of introducing the characters and I especially enjoyed the love for characters like Chad, Orihime and Uryu as these characters would later lose more and more spotlight as the series went on.
-It is a bit of a monster of the week. When it works, like with Chad's introduction story. It works. But Characters like Don Kanonji felt superficial and very gimmicky. Which, fair. I didn't enjoy them as much.

Soul Society Arc - Chapters 57-182 - Rating: 10/10
-The height of Bleach
-Establishes an afterlife seemingly perfectly. Later on revealed to be full of plot holes and never fleshed out but hey! That's not an issue in THIS arc. The fights are top tier, the themes of Ichigo owing a life debt to Rukia and his passion and determination to rise above literally God's army is inspiring and to this day is why I love Ichigo so much. He doesn't have some grandiose plan. He doesn't have a major goal to accomplish. He is a protector by heart, losing his mother has made him sour to failing to protect those he cares about and he'll do anything in his power never to feel that helpless again. Very powerful stuff.
-The twist near the end of this arc is revolutionary and would make waves for the next 200 chapters onward. A perfect ending and set up for the forthcoming arc.
-The only issues I have for this arc would be Ichigo's lightning speed progression. The guy goes from being able to barely defeat a third seat to besting multiple captains in roughly 100 or less chapters. I get that that is the point and him defeating captains was more of a struck of luck, but progression and pacing wise it feels very unearned and a factor of "for the plot he needed to be this strong" It only seems as fast as it is because Ichigo's progression slows drastically down for the rest of the story moving foreword so it's only now that I make that criticism.
-Also, and this will be an issue in most Shonen. There are 13 Captains with 13 Vice Captains and seats that branch all the way to 10 I believe? Regardless, there's a fudge ton of characters that are introduced here and it can get a little jarring at times. Luckily, Kubo does a great job at making their designs and characters unique despite such a large cast.

Hueco Mundo Arc - Chapters 183-423 - Rating 7/10
-This is another arc where personally I would split it up into two separate arcs. But for the sake of this review I will simply refer to the first half of the arc and the later half of the arc. First Half 9/10. Second Half. 5/10.
-The first half of this arc is a great continuation of the last. Ichigo now struggles with his inner demons and it affects his ability to protect the ones he loves. We are also introduced to a deadly unknown new villains. The Arrancars/Espada to this day remain one of my favorite villain factions in all of manga enemies.
-Just so you're aware I would say the first half of this arc ends right around the point of Ichigo vs Grimmjow. Grimmjow is one of the first Arrancar that Ichigo faces. And he's also one of two Espada that he faces three times. The conclusion of that fight shows Ichigo conquering his inner demons. Where Grimmjow is very much fighting to establish himself. Grimmjow has to fight Ichigo to prove to his fallen comrades that he is as good as he says he is. He doesn't care about Aizen, he doesn't care about the rest of the Espada. It is very personal for him. For Ichigo, Orohime is within his grasp of saving and he views this as his "final" battle. It's my favorite fight in all of Bleach.
-However, this is where things start to take a bit of dip in quality in my opinion. We had a goal and we were striving towards that goal. Each character of the original cast coming to repay the debt they made to their friend who had risked her life to save them in the Soul society arc. But somewhere along the way it seems we just had a fighter fest. Captains would face enemies with no themes or character revelations. The Espadas got a little light but nothing that made their fights compelling. You almost just feel bad for the Espada as they were monsters turned into a military force by an unstoppable tyrant. But even that wasn't enough to make half of the fights interesting. Now, that's with knowing the outcome. These fights played little importance in the larger scheme of things. Where at least in the Hueco Mundo fights each match up had the protagonists striving for a goal. Rukia to defeat Aaroneiro to free her former superiors soul. Byakuya to defend Rukia. Renji and Uryu teamwork. Nel to protect Ichigo and get revenge on Nnoitra. Whereas Stark fought Kyoraku.....cause.....and Hitsugaya fought Halibel because Water vs Ice would be cool.
-This leaves me to the end. I won't say it wasn't satisfying that Ichigo was able to defeat Aizen. And yes, I do feel like his new power was earned. 3 months of training. But this was clearly a last minute decision to save Aizen for a later date and the show must go on. I do feel like it wasn't as satisfying as 200+ chapter buildup needed to be.

The Fullbring Arc - Chapters 424-479 - Rating: 8/10
-A very underrated arc. And yes, I acknowledge that rating wise I think the Fullbring arc is superior to the Hueco Mundo arc. That is mostly true. Though I like the first half of the Hueco Mundo Arc more than the Fullbring arc. The end of the HM arc really brought it down for me. The Fullbring Arc is much more concise and is actually the shortest arc in the series and works as a glorified Ichigo getting his powers back arc. But that doesn't mean its bad.
-When I read it originally back when it was coming out in 2010. (Cause I'm Old) It wasn't phenomenal. In fact, I hated it. But wouldn't you? It took just short of a year to get to the point that we were at. But upon rereading it, it gave much deserved love to the characters who hadn't been shown love in quite some time. The original cast. It was a very character focused arc. Ichigo never seemed more human. And despite me hating it before for taking so long, reading weekly can sometimes hurt these mystery based arcs. The twist is heavily foreshadowed and I really appreciated it.
-That being said, the end was super rushed. This was a big bummer for me. The villains this time around were humans. And the ones who had the most exposure and relations with these characters were the original cast who again....were humans. So to have the soul reapers, who have no connection to the fullbringers show up and basically no diff most of the fullbringers felt very forced and fanservicey to me. This very well could have not been Kubo's call. As the community was very vocal about their dislike for this arc as it was going on. But I appreciate it now much more as I appreciate character and story over big sword fights. Lol.

The Thousand Year Blood War Arc - Chapters 424-689 - Rating: 5/10
-And we're finally here. The final and largest arc within the Bleach story. And man...does it not stick the landing.
-That being said, this arc has phenomenal moments. Kenpachi's Shikai and Bankai. Ichigo's double swords. Renji's true Bankai. Rukia's Bankai. And many more. However, they are put together against the most break neck speed arc that I have ever read. Kubo was very ambitious when he introduced 26 new villains. However, most of them got barely any screen time and a lot of them even got off screened by higher level captains. This was unlike the Espada who each got a full double page spread for their Resurrections.
-Yhwach himself was a phenomenal villain but was dealt with swiftly and imo dirty. They did him dirty.
-There was just something off. The mood changed and it was very apparent. The villains had random powers instead of the powers reflecting their personalities or needs. The finale felt so underwhelming.
-Ichigo gets to be the strongest he's ever been....but he doesn't defeat a single person besides the main villain despite being in several fights.
-It isn't a good arc. In fact, I would say it's the worst. Hopefully the anime does a better job with this already mammoth of a story. 260 chapters is no joke.

This gives the story of Bleach an Overall rating of 7.4/10. Which to me is above average. It has it's ups and downs. It's not perfect. But when it's high, it's peak shonen. But when it's low, it's very forgettable.

VOLUME 50: CHAPTER 433-441
Arc 10: The Lost Substitute Shinigami

Ginjō said all of them who have Fullbring powers have a power similar to Hollow. Their moms were attacked by Hollows when they were in their mom's womb. Ginjō said that there is someone who is have both Shinigami and Hollow power. That person can turned back them into normal human. XCUTION wants to help Ichigo reclaim back his Shinigami power in order for them to become a normal human.

Ichigo starts his training with the help of Riruka. Riruka's Fullbring is Dollhouse that can make Ichigo small and fit into her dollhouse. In there, Ichigo must fight the stuffed animal. After 15 minutes, the stuffed animal changed into more dangerous form. Giriko have put a timer in the toy box using his Fullbring: Time Tells No Lies where the person inside the timer cannot do a breach of condition or else they will be incinerated by the flame of time. Ichigo must survived during the timer which is 30 minutes.

Ichigo used his substitute badge to draw his Fullbring power. He managed to draw a swastika shape power same like Zangetsu's guard and he managed to defeat the stuffed animal. At the same time, Inoue went to Chad's house and he come across with a guy named Moe Shishigawara who wants to kill her. He was ordered by Shūkurō Tsukishima to kill Inoue but he couldn't do that. Tsukishima appears to meet Inoue and he was the one who attacked Uryuu. Tsukishima turned his bookmark into a sword. His Fullbring is Book of the End. Tsukishima stabbed Inoue but Inoue doesn't injured. Then Tsukishima and Shishigawara fled off. Ichigo and Chad arrived at Inoue's place.

Ichigo went to see Ginjō. Ginjō tells about Tsukishima who is a Fullbringer and former leader of XCUTION. Before this, they found a substitute Shinigami to draw their power to him but Tsukishima killed the Shinigami and the XCUTION member who gave the power. Then he disappeared. Ichigo starts his next training and this time he will faced Jackie Tristan.

Tite Kubo uses this fresh start to the new arc to bring in some weird new powers. Sure, Bleach has been known to have a lot of strange and exciting powers, but the Fullbrings introduced here have a more limited scope than just "sword with extra powers". Are these stronger? Weaker? More conditional? We barely dig into what Fullbrings are in this volume, so we're nowhere close to figuring that out. But they're definitely weird and different which is great! Kubo is trying to break out of the mold he put himself into with the Soul Reapers' Zanpakuto, which have always been a bit limited to being 'swords' with a shikai and a bankai. With the recent Hueco Mundo/Arrancar/Visored arcs he's been trying to add some new powers into the mix but in the end they turn into just more sword stuff.

Ichigo discovers his Fullbring here and it is decidedly not one big giant sword which is really cool! My biggest problems from this arc are that the 'villain' has little going for them yet- they just look strong. As the arc progresses we should learn more but the big motivator being "Ichigo gets his powers back" acts like a promise that we'll go right back to swords and all these weird niche powers are just going to make Ichigo stronger instead of resetting the power scaling back to managable levels.

I liked the little moment between Ichigo and his boss when he asked for time off, it was a cute human moment that this series is so good at delivering. I liked the introduction of the Fullbringer antagonist and I’m curious to see how he fits into the story in future instalments.

Good volume. I like where the story is headed
Summary:

Riruka uses her powers to put ichego into a doll house for training, she explains that fullbring is a specials power that is tied to the things you love or have a deep connection with. Ichego's is his soul reaper badge. It is revealed that Uryu was attacked by a "Mr.Tsukishima" and now they are after Orihime. Tsukishima stabs Orihime, but it doesnt leave a mark. Tsukishima used to be the leader of the fullbring squad.
