INJA's an imaginary place although you may actually live there. And, if you don't, you've certainly heard of it. It's becoming a Brand. But what's under the label?
We people in India do our best fo interpret or decode where we are and where others are coming from in their heads and hearts. This isn't easy even for Indians. To say nothing of visitors.
India can feel like its own planet - the way few other places do. This book is about Operating System India, as experienced by the dozens of characters who experience it and each other.
There are seven stories in this book.
* Three are for fun, for a time out over something to drink.
* Three are slightly they're about seeking and daring, about being real, about fantasies. One of them is transgressive. It's about people you may not know, but you will recognize them. This isn't "Shantaram". Nobody needs to use the F word.
* Three are thought provoking. They can be read straight through or they can be savoured slowly. Threre are levels and levels in fiction, as in life.
Wait. Wait a minute. That's nine stories! You said seven!
Welcome to INJA. Things are not always what they seem.
"INJA" - a best seller in hard copy in Pondicherry India, though not yet a major motion picture. Only a matter of time. "Life of Pi" began here in what was then a quiet ashram town set in backwater French India. And just look at him now!
