“A wedding is a joyous time; a time to celebrate love and relationships. A time to begin a new life with the one your heart has chosen. It’s also the time your best friend becomes an absolute nightmare as you plan your wedding…”
Remember fun and outgoing Janine? After a string of disastrous online and blind dates, she has finally found the love of her life in the place she least expected it: work. With a new engagement and an impending wedding, life couldn’t get any better for Janine and her fiancé, Dan…
Between a pile of destroyed wedding invitations, and too much champagne during one too many dress fittings, Becky is quickly becoming “Maid-of-Honor-zilla.” But with her best friend’s nuptials looming—and little time to plan—she is determined give Janine the gift of WeddedBliss and the wedding of her dreams.
Another thoroughly enjoyable read from these two authors!
This novella essentially picks up moments after FriendTrip finished and follows the duo as they (well, Becky) plan Janine's wedding. As anyone who has a ridiculously close bestie would know, you have your ups and downs. I really loved how these were treated. This was a familiar scenario for me and one I could easily relate to.
While this was pretty damn entertaining, it wasn't quite as funny as FriendTrip but you know what? That was ok. Friendship isn't always smiles and sunshine.
This was a great read and a welcome companion novella to FriendTrip (which you must read first). I'm hoping the authors consider writing another book or three about these Becky and Janine and I'm not above begging! Definitely recommend both books.
Quick, fun follow up to Friendtrip by M.E. Carter and Sara Ney, Wedded Bliss continues the story of Janine and Becky. I love these two characters so much that I wish they were my friends! I love the humor in the writing and the way these characters interact as only two close friends could. net and Carter are brilliant together, the stories flows perfect that you cannot tell who wrote which part. I loved how Becky gets carried away with the wedding planning as only a best friend could do....it is quite hysterical. Brilliant novella! Cannot wait to read more by these two! If you have THAT best friend, then read this and give her a copy too!
Must read after FriendTrip. God, I love Becky and Janine so much and would be happy just following them for many more books. Ms. Carter & Ms. Ney (laughs a little putting Ms., seems too proper for these two) knocked it out again. This was so cute and so funny!!! I loved it so much!!
I was really excited to read this after reading FriendTrip. I absolutely loved FriendTrip, and this book really let me down. I felt like the first 1/2-3/4 of the book, Janine and Dan were both kind of harsh towards Becky and lots of talking shit about her behind her back even. I didn't love it and really threw me after how close they were in the first book and how they were so supportive of each other. I get that Becky was driving Janine nuts with the wedding planning, but their relationship should have made it okay for her to speak up before she blew up at her. It also just seemed like Becky didn't talk shit about Janine in either book and it didn't really sit right with me. I liked the wedding through the end of the book, but overall, I was disappointed in how Janine was portrayed in this book compared to the first.
Coming off a heavy read, this is just what I needed. Becky & Janine - friends since college. Grown now - Becky married with a bunch of kids. Janine divorced from a jerk and about to marry again. She wants a simple wedding. Her mom was a serial bride. She just wants low key.
Becky, however, feels Janine NEEDS the big to-do wedding as she weds the man of her dreams. Janine reluctantly agrees, and hilarity ensues. Becky becomes Bridesmaidzilla (as I think the cake lady called her).
The banter between the two friends will make you giggle. And there is never a dull moment as the wedding plans evolve (into something Janine never wanted!).
If you want a fun, laugh out loud book, this one fits the bill! A quick read and fun packed in each page.
i liked it, but i didn't quite enjoyed it as much as i did the first book! it annoy me how very Monica Geller was Becky, it was very selfish of her not to listen any of what Janine wanted for her wedding, but i think Janine really should have put a stop to it before Becky did all that work! but i really liked the ending :)!
Becky and Janine are hilarious! I can picture almost every scene with me and my bestie. I'm pretty sure every one needs a best friend to "help" plan their big day but....wow!
It’s been a while since I read FriendTrip, but I remember enjoying it. Though it was mildly entertaining, this one didn’t quite work for me. I like Janine, but Becky is annoying me. She is steamrolling Janine with all the wedding plans. This was a quick, ok read.
This was a short, funny story about two best friends. One getting married and one planning it. This should be read after FriendTrip (which was hilarious).
WeddedBliss is the ending for the FriendTrip series. I loved reading more into Becky and Janine's friendship, the craziness of the wedding planning and how everything worked out in the end.
WeddedBliss. WeddedBliss is the continuation of Becky and Janine's friendship from the first book, Friendtrip. Once I had found out that there was going to be another book I have been waiting impatiently for its arrival. And I can honestly say that I was not disappointed at all. If anything I loved it all. So, so amazing.
Here we have two best of friends, Becky and Janine. Two completely different personalities who can't live without each other. We endure the ups and downs in their friendship and that's what made it so realistic. No friendship is ever perfect which is why I'm reminded of my very best friend when I read both the first book and this one. How different their lives are but they make time for one another. Becky wants to make sure Janine has the wedding she knows she deserves. But wishes are ignored and tension is created. But I just loved how they have that tiny moment of anger and hurt and then they're making up again. That's true friendship.
WeddedBliss is about still playing a major part in your best friends life despite the amount of years that have passed, how much things have changed, any type of distance or arguments that may have been caused. It's about always knowing that what they do is because they love you. As I said, it just reminded me so much about my best friend. If anything we are exactly like Becky and Janine and I think that is also awesome. And our poor partners are going to have to deal with our bipolar moments, dramatic arguments as well as the greatest friendship they will ever witness. Love you, Michaela Anne Duarte:) My sister.
If I could award more than five stars then I would in a heartbeat. This book (and also Friendtrip) will stay with me, always. It hit close to home and it was just so beautiful. I can't wait to see what happens next. Amazing job. Absolutely amazing.
The subplot of Janine and her dating misadventures in FriendTrip (the first book in this series) was hysterical and one of the highlights. When I heard that M.E. and Sara were writing a novella focusing on Janine’s wedding, I couldn’t wait to dive in and get more of the story. WeddedBliss was like a slice of wedding cake – sweet, dense, and just big (or, in this case, long) enough to get me to wondering how I can sneak a second piece. As Becky turns into a crazed matron of honor, fissures start to develop in her friendship with Janine, adding another layer of depth to their relationship.
The tension between the two was particularly satisfying because it was set up in such a way that I felt like I couldn’t really pick a side. I could see where both of them were coming from and the intentions of all sides were pure even if the execution ended up being less than perfect. In the end, Janine gets her dream wedding and hard-fought HEA. Even better, it looks like the story might not quite be over yet! Seamless storytelling, endearingly real characters, and hijinks that only best friends can find themselves in are a winning combination that will always keep me coming back for more.
What I really liked about this novella besides the comical and hysterical moments were when Janine and Becky's bond was tree stead, only best friends can go from friends to a death math in sixty seconds. Though it all worked out in the end, it was entertaining to see Becky as a Maidzilla! Haha
But really though, seeing Janine finally getting her happily ever after with Dan was precious and made me so happy.
I love how the writing flows so well and how the different style of writing of both authors complement each other.
It was a joy to read this novella, I tried to read it slow, because I didn't want it to be over, but it was over too soon for me. I need more! I love this series and would love to have more books, highly recommend it to anyone who need a laugh, relief from life but want a realistic story!
The hilarity from FriendTrip continued right where it left off in WeddedBliss.
In this book, we get to focus on Janine's upcoming nuptials and Becky as matron-of-honorzilla.
When you put wedding planning and best friends together there is definitely going to be drama. The tension was handled with finesse and humor. There were several moments when the side characters (the men!) stepped up and brought the laughs.
This was an awesome companion to the first novel. This reader hopes there will be another installment to this hysterical series.
I absolutely love Janine and Becky! They have a friendship like my best friend and I do.
The planning of Janine's wedding gets started but not by Janine and her fiancée Dan.. Becky stars taking control right away. None of which is what Janine wants..
This is a novella and a great one at that. I loved the writing, the sarcasm, the love from beginning to end. I will always want more Janine and Becky.
Oh Becky and Janine, how I love you. WeddedBliss picked up right where we left off in FriendTrip and took us through the hilarious planning of Janine's wedding. Becky and Janine were up to their old shenanigans and I loved every second of it! The bond and banter between these two is the best - they understand each other the way only best friends truly can. ME Carter and Sara Ney had me laughing out loud and I really can't wait to see what trouble Janine and Becky will get into next!
This was so funny of a book. I hadn't even read the novel that comes before it. I loved how I could read it without reading the other book. Dan and Jeremiah are so funny!!!! And Janine and becky's friendship is so funny and the complexity of it and how they just want the best for each other. it's so great!! Will definitely look into reading where it all began for them!
I loved the first one and I loved this one! There better be another one! Right?! I need another one ASAP :). Great job. I love how these books are fun and lighthearted. They are great of read to escape from the world a bit
Cute little story. Loved the first chapter references to life 16 years ago. And funny seeing names I recognize thrown in throughout. Great follow up, ladies. Looking forward to more.
Cute follow up to the first book. The reason I didn't give it 5 starts - I know it was a novella but it ended very abruptly. On and on about the wedding planning then all of a sudden BOOM Janine and Dan are married and pregnant and the book ends at 86%. Kind of a letdown.
