Following a brutal attack and at the insistence of her friends, a stitched-up Jenna Ray takes a temporary hiatus from Wayward Husband Wrangling until her safety can be assured, which leads to a guard dog at her side and a job at Madison Park Regional Theatre.
Suddenly with some free time on her hands, Jenna concocts a plan to redeem her best friend Bethany’s exotic dancer fiancé, while slowly learning to trust her long time love interest, Thad, with her heart.
Of course, just when life begins to settle into a comfortable rhythm, Jenna’s snarky sister crashes onto the scene, and a major life decision will put Jenna’s newfound trust in Thad to the test.
Kayla grew up on an Idaho cattle ranch, but now calls the wheat fields of the Washington Palouse home with her husband, daughter, and two dogs. She writes romance, chick lit, and now romantic suspense. Her rural roots inspire her writing, and she enjoys giving the world a little taste of a life most folks have never experienced. A rabid reader, when Kayla isn’t writing, ushering dogs in and out of the house, or taking care of the humans in her family, you can find her in a comfy spot with a book or an e-reader in her hands.
In this last episode, Jenna has an unfortunate experience that leads to changes in her lifestyle and work. The ending leaves her at a crossroads, with her future uncertain. As always, I enjoyed reading Jenna's story. I hope that she may return at some point in Kayla's writing career. It's been fun reading this series.
Kayla's writing keeps getting better. The plot, character development and action in this story were great, and I hope we get to read more about Jenna Ray and Thad in the future. It's a funny story, with just a titch of romance. I recommend this to fans of Janet Evanovich.
I really hope there are more Jenna Ray stories, especially since this one ended with several unanswered questions ... as have all of the previous books in the series. Please, Kayla Dawn Thomas, gimme some more Jenna Ray!
