This book was such a awesome story that love is out there for all of us to find! This story was so real to me I laughed and cried and smiled a lot! It showed the bravery of two people going through life's challenges both alone and together. I really appreciated that they worked together to be stronger. Sara and Gabe are the kind of people I want to know and have the relationship I hope for!
Sara just out of a abusive 18 year marriage, her daughter off to her first year of college, she has quit her job as an ER nurse due to burnout. She is off to Nantucket to find herself and help a find renovate a cottage to sell. Gabe has left his CEO job from the well known family business of financial planning. He now is a carpenter hired to renovate the cottage that Sara is staying in. Neither one is looking for a relationship.
This is a beautiful story about 2 people that had things in their past that made them who they are. But made the stronger & gave them an opportunity to love again. A house, an island & love.
Sara and Gabe are two people meant to be together, though at times it does get iffy. I was hoping Sara might have an unexpected treasure of a baby because the coma could have been a blessing. All ends well.
One of the exciting bits about reviewing books is discovering new authors. Especially when said author delivers a decent book.
This book was an enjoyable mental trip to Nantucket. The author created vivid images of the location and the people. I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Sara and Gabriel. Her reluctance. His confidence. Their interactions.
Additionally, I really felt that Ms Tomaski did a good job with the mother/daughter relationship. It was well observed, with appropriate levels of teenage friction.
I'm definitely interested in seeing what more this series has to offer.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Tides of Hope – When it comes to love, Sara has been left high and dry without it for far too long due to a bad marriage. We can be left high and dry when the tide of hope ebbs, but if we’re patient the tide will flood and lift our spirit. For Sara, tide rushes in when she sets out on a new life on Nantucket. She falls for a carpenter who left behind a spiritually dead end job in the city. Nothing like love to give a person hope and lift their spirits. If you read this book, you’ll have your spirits lifted. I know I did. Got to give it five stars. Write another one, Ms. Tomasko.
Loved this book! The author does a great job developing the characters and makes you feel like you're vacationing in Nantucket along with them. Can't wait for her next book!
