Moja książka jest dowodem miłości i świadectwem pamięci. A przede wszystkim jest próbą przywrócenia do życia kobiety, która – co potwierdzają wszyscy jej znajomi – była ujmująca i niezwykła. 175 books286 followersA prolific medievalist of international renown, Le Goff is sometimes considered the principal heir and continuator of the movement known as Annales School (École des Annales), founded by his intellectual mentor Marc Bloch. Le Goff succeeded Fernand Braudel in 1972 at the head of the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (EHESS) and was succeeded by François Furet in 1977. Along with Pierre Nora, he was one of the leading figure of New History (Nouvelle histoire) in the 1970s.
Since then, he has dedicated himself to studies on the historical anthropology of Western Europe during medieval times. He is well-known for contesting the very name of "Middle Ages" and its chronology, highlighting achievements of this period and variations inside it, in particular by attracting attention to the Renaissance of the 12th century.

Alla fine non ho resistito. L'ho finito in una serata.
Mi sono sentito l'"orco avido di carne umana", come ironicamente amava definirsi Le Goff.
Perché sarà anche vero che le famiglie felici si somigliano un po' tutte, ma per me nulla è più attrattivo di quella luce particolare che irradia da un grande amore.
Come altrimenti spiegare mezzo secolo di produzione sempre ad altissimo livello, congiunta ad un'esistenza ricca di affetto, sincero e ricambiato, verso familiari, parenti, amici, colleghi, studenti, pubblico e, in sostanza, l'intera collettività?

Un libro intimo e delicato in cui si intreccia la storia privata della famiglia costruita da Hanka e Jacques con quella pubblica, dell'europa dal dopoguerra ai giorni nostri. Mi sono molto piaciute le descrizioni dei viaggi: il tentativo di restituire lo sguardo di Hanka sui posti, le persone e le cose mi è sembrato un commovente atto d'amore.
