Once again, the team meets at Andi’s grandparents’ home for some much-needed rest and relaxation. But the professor seems preoccupied with more than the academic speech he has to deliver, and when some mysterious black-eyed children visit the woman next door, Andi and her friends are caught up in a situation unlike any they have experienced thus far.

Christy-Award winner Angela Hunt writes for readers who have learned to expect the unexpected in novels from this versatile author. With nearly six million copies of her books sold worldwide, she is the best-selling author of more than 165 works ranging from picture books (The Tale of Three Trees) to novels.

Now that her two children are grown, Angie and her husband live in Florida with Very Big Dogs (a direct result of watching Turner and Hooch and Sandlot too many times). This affinity for mastiffs has not been without its rewards--one of their dogs was featured on Live with Regis and Kelly as the second-largest canine in America. Their dog received this dubious honor after an all-expenses-paid trip to Manhattan for the dog and the Hunts, complete with VIP air travel and a stretch limo in which they toured New York City.

Afterward, the dog gave out pawtographs at the airport.

Angela admits to being fascinated by animals, medicine, psychology, unexplained phenomena, and “just about everything” except sports. Books, she says, have always shaped her life— in the fifth grade she learned how to flirt from reading Gone with the Wind.

Her books have won the coveted Christy Award, several Angel Awards from Excellence in Media, and the Gold and Silver Medallions from Foreword Magazine’s Book of the Year Award. In 2007, her novel The Note was featured as a Christmas movie on the Hallmark channel. Romantic Times Book Club presented her with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006, and American Christian Fiction Writers bestowed the same award in 2019.

In 2006, Angela completed her Master of Biblical Studies in Theology degree and completed her second doctorate in 2015. When she’s not home reading or writing, Angie often travels to teach writing workshops at schools and writers’ conferences. And to talk about her dogs, of course.

I do love how these authors keep us on our toes. Just when we thought the gang were getting closer to The Gate we return to Florida and to relative calm. We're now back with Andi as she brings the gang to her grandparents home for some much needed R&R coinciding with a presentation the Professor is giving at the university.

Not surprisingly something strange happens: two black eyed kids, a boy and a girl, appear at Andi's front door. She senses evil and shuts them out only for them to go next door to visit heavily pregnant Mrs Diaz. Meanwhile, the gang cheer on the Professor as he gives his presentation on the wonders of time travel.

Strange things are afoot not just next door but with the Professor. This results in Andi leading two investigations both of which end with surprising outcomes.

I especially enjoyed experiencing more of Andi. Angie Hunt is developing Andi into quite the complex character and we are left wondering how she'll respond to the change that rocked her world in this episode. I'm looking forward to finding out next time around.

Frank Peretti -Angela Hunt are Christian authors anything that they have written I have loved to read. This series is scary but has truth to it not all fiction. Read and know devil is real as apple pie!!! Enjoy this ride & open your eyes!!!!

Can't wait...

I am really looking forward to the next book as this one had a lot of unanswered questions begging for an answer. And it was also so sad...I won't say why...you will have to read it for yourself, but things will not be the same for our group.
