I'm honestly in love with this series, I just can't get enough! I love a sci-fi romance and this is one of my favourites by far.
The book picks up from where the first one left off, Logan is on a roadshow trying to bring peace between both races leaving Sadie with Hadyn and the rest of the gang to train to protect herself but also to proceed with her job in government. While tension is already running high as the lovely duo have been separated for so long Sadie starts to find herself in a web of deceit & lies falling deeper each step she takes. When Sadie finds out that her sister has been taken to Sector Twenty she knows she has to get her back installing the help of her best friend Jarod, but what's really going on? can she get her back out on time? Can she keep up the lies to the ones she loves?
My heads a big pile of alien mush, I am in love! Siobhan is seriously one of my new favourite authors, with so much action and romance all wrapped up in one book it's complete perfection for me as that's right up my street. I love the way she writes, the characters she makes, the way she builds the different worlds has me in my glory so much so my boyfriend keeps saying to me "put the kindle down and eat properly the books are still going to be there when you are finished" or "Amanda please switch that thing off its 3am stop giggling and wriggling I'm up in 4 hours for work." I tell him he doesn't understand I NEED TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON THESE SORT OF THINGS CAN'T WAIT!! He disagrees pfffffft! Men who don't read just don't get it.
The second book progresses into more alien species, their worlds plus getting to know a little more about Saven. There's so much action, twist and turns you are guaranteed to have many "WTF" moments. We get to meet Sadie's sister who is lovely! plus she strikes up a little romance of her own which is adorable to read about.
Throughout the book, I did find myself getting frustrated with Sadie, how can she even dare be mad with anyone with everything she is up to? HELLO, do you realise some of the things you agreed to do and didn't warn a soul?! but then I remembered how much she has been locked away and she is still young trying to find a solution to everything even though it's been for her own good. Still, it never made it much better everytime she said to someone "you lied to me" dear god how dare you slipped from my lips.
My heart rocked for Haydn throughout this one, he is so sweet and would do anything to make sure his friends are ok, he does absolutely everything for Sadie & her sister which I think Sadie took for granted especially considering where she came from to where she is at now. You can understand why Haydn starts to feel the way he does also plus not to be set straight while also watching everyone around himself fall in love, it's heartbreaking.
Logan will always be number one in my heart, at times I actually felt myself leaning towards Haydn but then I would remember how much I love Logan and everything he does he does it for a reason. Even hotter, more mature and taking it in his stride to help both Saven & Humans made me swoon, even more, he is total perfection. He loves Sadie so much and it rolls off him how much he cares for her so with some things she kept from him like the whole thing had me like NOOOO WHY WOULDNT YOU SAY SOMETHING?!
I can't get enough of this series and I can't wait to read on it is awesome you really need to pick this up if you haven't already I promise you it is worth it.

I am super excited to share the next installment in the Saven series, and I'm so pleased with how this story is developing. This one is a fast-paced rollercoaster ride so grab a helmet - you'll need it! I must warn you, however, that there is a screaming cliffhanger at the end. Don't hate me :). Enjoy :)

A compelling sci-fi romance with everything from subterfuge, alien invasions, and a love that spans the galaxy.
How many lies can one tell before they start to lose track of them? How many secrets can one person keep before trust is broken? Sadie Owens is in a perilous position. Everyone wants a piece of her. Can she help her sister and mankind without putting the people she loves in danger, especially Logan since not all humans want extraterrestrials walking the Earth and are determined to remove them at all costs?
Siobhán Davis continues the excitement of her series by adding intergalactic politics and travel to the already captivating story of young love amidst conspiracies and alien incursions. This skillfully penned story had my heart stalling with its thrilling plot, epic love and vivid journey to different worlds.
Whereas the first book in this series maintained its setting on Earth and we mostly guessed at aliens from a planet called Saven walking amongst humans, this second book introduces two new alien races, the Tor and the Amaretti. We also travel through the galaxy to visit their planets and I loved every minute of it because it is so richly described. As a Star Wars, Star Trek and all things sci-fi nerd girl who also loves to read romance I would love to see a movie of this series.
I did however want to slap some sense into Sadie a few times in the beginning though. She is still the strong and brave girl we met in the previous book, tougher with all the training she was doing under Haydn’s caring and careful tutelage. But she was way over her head with the rebels and the vice president and all the lies and secrets she was keeping. Eventually she would have to pick a side. It was a time bomb I was just waiting to blow up in her face.
Although that is the awesome dichotomy of first young love, while it’s youthfully foolish and sometimes woefully dramatic, it’s also incredibly pure and utterly sweet. And while Logan is no stranger to deception of his own I adored how he didn’t hesitate to do right by his people and humans or express his love to Sadie. Every time these two were together the swoonage went sky high and the inner romantic in me ate it up.
Even though it did pain me to see Logan’s friendship with Haydn go askew due to Haydn’s very real but totally unrequited feelings towards Sadie. I hope he gets to meet his true love.
Along with Haydn, I liked that all the appealing characters from the first book like Neve and Jordan are back and new ones are introduced to move the plot forward. Yes, I’m referring to Princess Dalitza, my namesake! I thought I would be giggling nonstop every time I read about her, but I was completely immersed in the story.
There are a lot of amazing surprises in this book. I could guess at a couple but then there were some plot twist that completely floored me and that cliffhanger had me desperately wishing I could borrow some sci-fi time travel technology so I could fast forward and get my hands on the next book. It’s been several days since I finished this book and I still can’t get over my book hangover. I can’t wait to see how this story unfolds.
Saven: Disclosure is the second book in the Saven series by Siobhán Davis which I strongly suggested not be read as a standalone but rather in order. It is a superb Young Adult, fantasy/sci-fi, dystopian romance. Told from the heroine’s point of view that ends with a cliffhanger.

I’ll start with a thank you to the author. Upon joining her mailing list, I was lured into her advance read team. I could not resist the temptation of the Saven series. It sounded wonderful and I wanted the chance to read it before everyone else (I’m innately selfish, even if I act otherwise). When I finished the first book, I was desperate for the second. Despite being part of the advance read team, I still had to wait. This served to remind me why I prefer reading series once all the books have been released. Time and time again I do this to myself, and I never learn. Fortunately, I didn’t have long to wait until I got my hands on the second Saven book. Having now finished my advance read it is safe to say I’m impatiently awaiting book three.
It appears as though I’m impatiently awaiting a lot of books at the moment.
Not that you care about my impatience. I’m more than aware that my fellow bibliophiles understand my pain. Waiting for the next book in any series you enjoy is hard – yet I fear this wait will be even harder. Those of you who are fans of the show Supernatural will understand how I’m currently feeling. Something big happens at the end of this. Something drastic. I know I will get answers… yet that ending. It’s like season five of Supernatural all over again. My emotions cannot deal. So yeah, you have been warned.
But what about the rest of the book?
I admit, at the very start, I was a little bit disappointed. Book one had ended on such a high, and I’d been hoping to start with pure action. When this didn’t happen, I was somewhat disappointed. Don’t get me wrong, it didn’t take long for the action to start, yet we had a much slower pace at the beginning of the story than I had hoped for. I wanted ceaseless action, and instead I had to wait a while.
When the action does start, so much happens. Honestly, I cannot begin to list the things that happen in this one. All the aspects brought to our attention in the first book are taken to new places, and we are given much more to work with. Most importantly, for me, we have more alien action. We’re not limited to the Saven this time. We get to meet other alien races. It is safe to say my inner sci-fi alien lover was more than appeased by this development. Obviously I want more (you can never have too much alien fun, in my mind), yet it was a great introduction to additional alien races. There are so many possibilities in place.
Unfortunately, with so much going on things weren’t quite as shocking as I had been hoping they would be. Things that should have been surprising twists were quite clear from the outset. This did not lessen the fun any, but I would have liked more by the way of surprise. The very end is a massive surprise, but other twists were quite clear. Still, they were fun.
In terms of the characters, I have mixed feelings. Some I grew to love more… and others I started to dislike. I think this, however, is because the romance aspect continued on so much in this book. Whilst there was a lot more alien action, there was still quite a bit of romance. This is fine for romance lovers, but I’d have been much happier if things had been toned down a bit. I know it is the whole first love and true love thing… but it felt a bit much at times. It distracted me from the sci-fi aspects. I can handle romance, but I would be happier if it was toned down and things were more equal. Again, though, this is just me. I’m really finicky about my romance reads. I never used to enjoy it and now that I am allowing myself to read more romance, I find myself very particular about what I want. If a book is a purely romance book, I will accept it (although I won’t read many of these books one after the other). If the book comes under another category before romance – as this one is sci-fi before it is romance – I expect it to be more tamed. It’s just me, though. Perhaps if I were a bigger shipper of the couple this would change. Please don’t hate me for that! I really am funny when it comes to romance, and I’m sorry.
Overall, though, it was wonderful.
There are so many things to be brought about in the next book. So many things came to pass in this book, and there are many stories we need answers to. So many aspects. So very many different things. I cannot begin to list them without giving spoilers. Just know there is a lot in store for the final book.
Also, know you will be impatient to read the next instalment. Cliff-hanger endings are wonderful yet horrible at the same time, and the novella that follows this book cannot come soon enough.
It is safe to say, I’m more than ready to see how this one ends.

I am torn between 4 & 5 stars, The book was exciting. I liked it a lot, but something at the end of the book was a little farfetched/bizarre to me. Part of me tells me to get with the program because this is science fiction. The other part of me says "yeah, right". I need to think about this a little. I will write my review tonight.

First of all, let me say it is very difficult to type this review one-handed as I cling to the edge of a precipice with the other.
This is the second book in the Saven series. It begins with Logan off gathering support as the Saven crown prince. Sadie is left with Haydn, Jarod and the others. Separation is hard for the two of them, but Logan has a duty to uphold.
Sadie is loved and adored instantly by all straight males, but she won't give them the time of day because she is smitten with Logan. It would have been really annoying except that Sadie realizes how ridiculous these guys are acting around her. Also, she isn't portrayed as a perfect special snowflake. She makes mistakes--stupid ones. She lies to Logan, Logan lies to her and secret alliances and subterfuge abound. I don't particularly like miscommunication storylines, but at least she regrets and learns from her poor decisions. The first third or so of this book is much like the last half of Deception. For a while, it seemed as if the dystopian back-drop was more of a vehicle for the star-crossed romance. That all changes at forty-two percent. Stuff gets real.
Sadie makes a grave error to go running by herself in the midst of danger from both human and alien factions. The obvious occurs, but not in the way I saw coming.
I loved that we are introduced to a new alien race called the Amaretti. (It sounds like a coffee drink. Delicious!) We meet Princess Dali. She is a cool alien and a loyal ally of Logan. She and her companion, Win, look out for Sadie. The Amaretti superpower is that their skin color changes with their emotions. Reminds me of the Boov in Home .
At this point, I must mention Haydn. He is like Mr. French from Family Affair . He is tasked with taking care of Sadie. That means protecting her, preparing her meals and training her. While I detest love triangles, I absolutely adore unrequited love. Near the end of the book, this becomes a major stumbling block, and it looks like Logan and Haydn may not be able to get past it. I have a lot of sympathy for Haydn and think, just like I did with Mr. French, he deserves having his own life. At one point Sadie wonders why the people of earth can't put aside their differences to unite against the alien threat. Logan's and Haydn's tenuous relationship is that in a microcosm.
I knew at some point we'd find out the deal with Sadie. It's been alluded to since book one, and it's quite shocking that she doesn't seem to catch on and wonder about what everyone else notices. Maybe she is willfully ignoring the obvious?

For now I think I will put this series aside. It just doesn't grab me. I couldn't connect with the characters at all and some of the interactions were slightly weird to me (the whole petting Sadie's head thing was really strange).
But most importantly I pause it because of the story structure. You see, I have no problem with cliff hangers and I have no problem with long winded detailed and complex stories. In fact, I like him. Unfortunately, reading these first two books felt like reading one long book. When you create a series I expect a plot that stretches through all books and connects everything, but I also want an arc for each book. I want to start reading it and feel satisfied by the end of the book instead of frustrated because nothing really got resolved or answered. There are so many plot lines in this series, none of which are actually dealt with properly, and more get opened up at every turn but not a single one gets resolved or even actually moved forward.
In all honesty, I couldn't tell you what this book's plot was. I could tell you all the things that happend (and happened in the first book), but there wasn't really a beginning, a middle and an end ... there was just ... more. Neither the first book nor this one ended (and I'm not refering to the cliffhangers. You can end on a cliffhanger and still feel like the story arc of a book ended). Right now I just don't have the patience to read a roughly 2k pages long book disguised as five books.
Apart from my personal impatience I also have some real complaints.
- I don't understand the whole 'conscience' thing. I don't think the author thought this really through
- then there is the whole love triangle ...why? It's completely unnecessary. Hayden's problems would be just the same and just as legitimate if he wasn't in love with Sadie. Besides it's not like there is an actual chance for Sadie choosing him so why waste all those pages on that useless subplot.
- the harem ... why does Sadie need a harem? why are all the important characters dudes? Why couldn't Jarod have been a Janine or something like that? Why does this book with a female MC feel like such a sausage party?
- A Vin and a Win? Really? Unless that later on turns out to be on purpose that's just lazy.
- Speaking of Vin ... I wonder if he is ever going to meet his grandma. Honestly, that wasn't really subtle and I'm willing to bet I'm right about this. If you finished this series pm me and let me know if I'm right about this particular point. ^^
- The sex thing. Usually I appreciate it if the main couple doesn't have to figure out everything on their own but in this case it felt like a major cop out.
- the dystopian ... why exactly is Sadie's country a dictatorship? How did that happen? How does it work? I feel like the plot would have worked just fine without the whole totalitarian regime going on.
Anyway. There were many things that greatly frustrated me about the story and the never ending story on top of that ... nope. Not now, maybe one day when I have more patience.

4.5 STARS!
Do you know the tingly feeling that accompanies a good book? The Saven series always leave me with an immense sensation that had me both weeping and laughing at the same time. I love/hate the book - loved that it surpasses my expectation and hated it for its epic storyline that made me compare every single alien-related books to the series. Extraordinarily clever and beautifully crafted, Siobhan Davis always left me in awe and wonder at her writing and the attention to details. The Saven series is one of the few in which I could completely immerse myself into!
Saven Disclosure is the second book in the Saven series (you can read my review of Saven Disclosure here). As unique as the series name, the world that the author created was equally astounding. Imagine it to be a beautiful blend of The Lux series and Star Trek, Saven Disclosure has everything I looked for in a book. I loved that the book was action packed from the first page to the last, and yet not lacking in story/character development. Continuing from Saven Deception, Saven Disclosure delves deeper into the political side of intergalactic war between species, despite how boring "politics" sounded, I dare to promise you otherwise! I found Saven Disclosure rather enlightening as the questions I had in the first book was answered, however being the amazing author Davis' is, she had to leave us with a bigger mystery - dang it!
I was attached to Sadie since the first book, having first introduced to her as a low class fighting for a better future, I was drawn to her strong will and independent nature. It was amazing to see how she blossomed into such a strong character in this book, given the pressure she was under from all directions. I respect her for having such a collective demeanour and did not falter under threats. On the other hand, I certainly did not expect the twist in Sadie and Logan's romance, or the addition for a better word (I'm trying so hard not to reveal any spoilers!). Long distance relationship is tough, I'm experiencing it myself, but Logan and Sadie proved to conquer even the greatest obstacle and that is inspiring!
I love that book two was focused more on plot development, I was a bit at lost with the politics in book one but everything was well explained in book two. Not to mention, there are more to the secondary characters than the first book - Neve, Ella, Jarod and Haydn, although I wished there was more to the story of Dante and Logan's relationship, may be we'll find out in book three!
Conclusion: Currently engaged in a laser battle with alien species threatening to destroy Earth, while fighting alongside with my alien soulmate in my favourite jammies!
Yeap, book two was that vivid!

Unfortunately, I didn't get to read Saven Disclosure as often as I would've liked; otherwise I'd have finished it a long, long time ago. That didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying the book though.
Sadie's story continues as Logan is constantly away. Leaving her in Haydn's care, she is kept guarded and locked up, growing more restless by the minute, longing to find answers to her dangerous questions.
I enjoyed all of Saven Disclosure, but the ending couldn't not surprise me more than every other plot twist in the entire book. I'd figured Griselda had a lot to do with all the problems, and that she'd appear at some point, but that was not what I found out.
Siobhan Davis' writing is a steady, continous flow. She keeps it calm, natural until all of a sudden, she's grabbed you by the throat with an amazing plot twist. I felt her claws every single time, one of many reasons I continue to enjoy her books immensely.
Siobhan Davis is also one of very few authors that writes in present tense. It's slightly different from past tense, but I welcome the change.
While it may not seem like it at first, I assure you Sadie Owens is every bit the badass heroine when compared to characters like Rose Hathaway, Katniss Everdeen, and Celaena Sardothien. Her might lies in determination and a great character development.
For every reader that loves Sci-fi, I cannot stress how much you need to read The Saven Series. Siobhan Davis combines Sci-fi, Fantasy, and Romance into an epic all-in-one must-read.

HOLY COW!!!!!! GET ME THE NEXT BOOK!!!!!! This book was one heck of a roller coaster ride!!!! There was so much going on!!!! Sadie definitely ROCKS!!! She is the coolest female mc!! Logan is sooo swoon worthy!!! I say with stars in my eyes!!! OK...I’m back to...GET ME THE NEXT BOOK!!!!!

Initial response post completion of reading: OH MY GOSH!!! Like wow to the nth degree! I. Am. Gobsmacked.
After reading book one, I knew that anything else associated with this series would be powerful, but when I tell you that I was unprepared for what I read in book two, it does not even remotely convey my feelings. Saven Disclosure was tremendous and then some.
To say that there was one thing about this story that stood out wouldn't even come close. This entire book was insanely magnificent. The layers of corruption, the dark suspense, the unexpected twists and turns related to the multiple alien races, the family betrayals, the love...it was beyond anything I've known as a reader. Shazam!!! (It was like V (1983) mixed with Taken (2002) mixed with I don't know what else. Old School crazy goodness and peculiarity!)
I can honestly say that this book had me both on edge and on an emotional roller coaster in the very best way. I was driven to see what would happen next. I was never disappointed at the end of any chapter. I just kept thinking that surely nothing else so devastating could happen. Boy was I wrong!
I know I've said nothing and everything in this almost nonsensical review, but my mind is still whirling from that bloody brilliant ending. Brilliant, I tell you!
Final Thoughts: I am hooked on this series! I must have more. Ms. Davis, you rock. Keep 'em coming, please.

MY THOUGHTS
Saven Deception was a fantastic start to the series, and I enjoyed it, but this book was even better!
As much as I enjoyed the first book, I enjoyed this one even more! This book felt much more complex and even more action-packed than book one! This book took the ideas from book one even further, giving more of an insight into the Savens! And so much happens in this book! So many twists and turns, and, boy, I didn't see that ending coming!
Like book one, I liked Sadie. Sadie is a fantastic MC, but she is a very different person than she was in book one. In book one we are introduced to a girl who grew up in a horrible environment with a family that didn't love her. Though she was still strong and defiant. In book two, she's even stronger and has an amazing group of friends to help her. All of the characters in this book, good and bad, are well-rounded!
My main problem with book one was the romance. The romance in book one was a bit fast and the on and off again relationship was frustrating. In this book, I actually found the romance less frustrating. I was able to root for them in this book! Though, in true sequel fashion, the couple is separated most of the book.
Annnnnnd, the ending! Man was that a cliffhanger!
IN CONCLUSION
This was a fantastic sequel! It's not often that you come across a sequel that can beat it's predecessor! I will definitely be continuing this series, especially after that ending, and I look forward to more by Siobhan Davis!

Logan is off trying to quell the masses on Earth by his father's side, always the dutiful son and heir, while Sadie is left in New York trying to lead a somewhat normal life even though she's constantly accosted by humans the moment she steps out of her apartment door and missing her Eterno like no other.
With Logan away and Haydn breathing down her neck (as per Logan's request), Sadie is desperate to help the rebels despite their blurred morals and agenda. All she wants is to save the people she loves from Sector 20 and the horrific acts that are taking place there.
As if things couldn't get worse, Sadie gets kidnapped and taken to an alien planet and events, friendships, and lives slowly start to unravel.
Saven Disclosure will keep you on the edge of your seat long after you've flipped to the last page. The truth has finally come out.
Sadie is in love with a Saven alien prince - Logan - and they share a soulmate connection.
The Saven have been on earth for many years blending in.
The reveal about their presence has been made, and lots of people (and other alien races, y’all) are pissed about it.
And earth’s government wants to turn Sadie’s Star class into mindless drones.
Sadie is incensed her government is willing to sell out the Stars in their earth-alien era agreement. In order to evolve, the Saven require a consciousness to absorb so that they can then absorb it. In return, the humans either die or turn into weak willed husks willing to work in brutal conditions without complaint.

Another winner of a book! But typical Sadie, she starts getting herself entangled in conspiracies left and right. I like Sadie; she’s very headstrong. But she really wants to do everything herself and doesn’t always think clearly. I’m most upset about her rethinking her eterno intended connection to Logan. I mean, come on! He’s hot, he’s an heir, and he’s saved her from a life of misery and mindlessness! And he’s in love with her! They’re soul mates!

The Saven have been on earth for many years blending in.
The reveal about their presence has been made, and lots of people (and other alien races, y’all) are pissed about it.
And earth’s government wants to turn Sadie’s Star class into mindless drones.
Sadie is incensed her government is willing to sell out the Stars in their earth-alien era agreement. In order to evolve, the Saven require a consciousness to absorb so that they can then absorb it. In return, the humans either die or turn into weak willed husks willing to work in brutal conditions without complaint.

This story is really picking up.
Logan is touring around doing his royal duties, while Sadie is working for the vice president and has Hadyn with her as bodyguard. There's a lot of conspiracy a whole bunch of different factions involved in this one, and from the ending the next book has a giant reveal coming.
There is still the whole "I'm dating other girls to keep you safe" mentality lingering around, which I hate, and a lot of lies and deception, but there's also a lot of action and intrigue going on to even it out.

Another MUST READ novel by Siobhan Davis! Highly recommend for lovers of romance with futuristic/sci-fi plots.
This is the second novel that I have read by Siobhan Davis, and it did not disappoint! I was nervous that I loved the first book in the Saven series so much that I might have set my expectations too high for this release, but I was blown away by how much I continue to love this series!
You really got to see so much more of what was happening behind the scenes for Logan by the time this novel ended. Him and Sadie were keeping so many things from each other, and not to hurt each other, really just trying to protect the other person and ease their burdens. I was so relieved when those things came to a head and were spoken to each other. It released so much of the tension and apprehension I was feeling throughout the novel. I really love both Logan and Sadie's characters SO much. Despite each one's faults and weaknesses, they make such an amazing match and their Eterno connection makes it such a swoon worthy romance. They just can't get enough of each other, just being near each other, that it makes the romance that much better. I loved all the details in the book, but every time these two were apart, I kept having to read more and more until they were together again.
It took every ounce of my patience to deal with Haydn by the end of this book. I know he meant well and has clearly gotten enough of his conscience and been around humans long enough to realize that he's missing out on some great opportunities; HOWEVER, go mack on someone else's girl, Haydn! I know him and Sadie were spending a lot of time together, and believe me, I get how they developed a closer connection when Logan was absent (side note: extremely annoying from a girl's perspective that Logan was tied up so much), but I felt like Haydn was crossing some lines. It's neither here nor there though; I still like his character overall and feel bad for his limitations due to the royal guard.
I was pleasantly surprised by how much I started to like Jarod and Vin. I was happy to NOT see so much of Dante. And I hope in the next book I perhaps get to see more of Neve (with Alex and Fern & Rylan).
Adding Dali to this novel was an exquisite addition. I like the depth and perspective Dalitza provided on the Amaretti, and I was hoping to see her appear again near the end of this book, but perhaps later again in the series? I liked the way she got to know Sadie, and while I guessed it might be her at first on Amaro, I really wasn't sure until it was confirmed.
Griselda is obviously a force to be reckoned with, and we will undoubtedly be seeing more of her and the Tor in the following book. Man was she nasty! I have been a big fan of Siobhan Davis's writing since I read her very first book, True Calling. I have read everything she has written since, and loved all of them. It was such a bummer when the True Calling series ended, but then she announced she was writing a new one! Sci-fi, dystopian fiction, and romance, oh my! (Aliens, too, but then I wouldn't have been able to use the "lions, tigers and bears, oh my! reference, and I was pretty excited about that. ;-) )
Back on topic, I read the first book in the Saven series, Saven Deception, and really liked it. I was really looking forward to Saven Disclosure, and it did not disappoint. I really liked this book. I was not expecting most of the story lines. They were just so neat and cool, I found myself thinking, "How does she come up with this stuff?" numerous times. I really loved how I could not anticipate the story at all.
I loved getting to see kind of a new phase for the story, if that makes sense. The characters were in a completely different setting, and things were really different, and really interesting.
The only thing that I wasn't a big fan of, was how the romance was depicted at times. (Only a little bit, overall, I liked it.) I am a complete sap, and I love romance, that being said, sometimes the way Sadie described her feelings for Logan felt over the top, to me. It didn't take away from my enjoyment, and I can even figure out why she was so dramatic- she's 17, it's her first love ever (that right there is enough to make you dramatic), but then when you add to that, the fact that she hardly felt loved as a child, the fact that they have this really cool, incredibly strong alien love bond, it starts to make more sense. I realize that as someone in my 30s, I can't really remember what my first love felt like, or what it felt like to be a teenager- but I'm pretty sure it was dramatic. So, it didn't bug me a ton, but it was something that I noticed. It is definitely not enough to be a big deal, or to take away my enjoyment from the book. It's just something that I noticed, and I think I noticed it, just because of the way that I am thinking about books that I read lately- I'm not just thinking about my enjoyment of them, but also really thinking about them. That didn't really come out the way I wanted to, but hopefully it makes sense. Anyway, I thought their romance was really great overall, just sometimes the way she described her feelings was a bit dramatic, but again 17 year old girl.

It was so suspenseful for me, and I was so worried for the characters that I had to hold my husband's hand while I read the last few chapters. And then, a cliffhanger!! I cannot believe the cliffhanger she left us on. Siobhan, how could you do this to us? I have so many QUESTIONS!!!!! Thankfully, she's being kind and releasing Saven Denial (a novella) in a month. Thank goodness! I can't wait to read what happens next.

I am going to have a lot of issues pointed out in this review so I’ll start with the things I actually liked about Saven Disclosure first. It did in some scenes and moments really get my heart going and it was interesting enough for me to have no problem reading it to the end. All the double-crossing, betrayal, drama and cliffhangers is what really made me enjoy the story. At the same time though, it was a far cry from enough.
The story started of with Sadie training, going to work and meeting up with friends. A pretty standard beginning and mundane life, right? Except the fact that she had Haydn cooking, cleaning, drawing baths for her and then doing what was supposed to be his soul purpose; protecting her. I noticed this trend throughout the book too. Sadie was supposed to be this selfless and compassionate heroine in the middle of all the action, because that is how the author tried to pass her of as. Yet, I had trouble seeing that since she got everything served and done for her with no issues whatsoever. It’s like she took everyone doing everything for her for granted and instead of being in the middle of the action she was much more cozier standing in the sidelines letting everyone else do the job. Sure, she was sometimes in the action, but not the big heroine in it that the author wanted us to believe. She honestly felt more like a burden needing rescue from the action. And she constantly made poor choices and stupid decisions that got herself in danger and yet she never learned from her mistakes because she kept walking right into obvious danger again and again. That is what I call a classic case of a TSTL character.
Overall Sadie really really got on my nerves. For being TSTL and so much more. She somehow managed to make every situation about her. For example, Haydn was feeling down and she made a whole speech about her sucky life and how she got out of the dump. Sweetheart, when someone has a problem they want to talk about said problem, not hear you making it all about yourself. Even when it came to making the big decisions she had to have a say and what she decided went. Worst of the worst though? How extremely clingy and desperate she was in the relationship. Actually how clingy and desperate they both were.
“If I could crawl inside him I would, such is the strength of my need to be as one with him.” Yes, this is an actual quote from the actual book. Red flags anyone? And the book was peppered full of these strange sentences, especially when they made out. They couldn’t just be making out like a normal couple. It always was overdone with those way too profound and weird sentiments. Even the dialogues where unnatural and top ten in the cringe scale. I couldn’t find any normal conversation between those two “love birds” and trust me, I looked. It was so unrealistically profound and over the top. It’s like the author didn’t know how to create a romance so she stuffed the dialogues with this cringefest and cheesyness to prove to us readers that they were over the moon in love. As a matter of fact, I don’t think Siobhan Davis can tell the difference between love and obsessive desperation.
Another thing the author does is underestimate humans ability of face recognition. Sadie put on a wig (which Jared somehow had the mentality to remember to pack in the chaos and panicked evacuation of a drowning city?) and suddenly she was a whole new person. Not even her brother or sister who had seen her face their entire life could recognize her without her identifying herself first. Hell, the only difference between the princess of Amaretti and her alias was a headscarf and even Sadie who hung out with her every day couldn’t see through that. I think this was the most ridiculous and unrealistically dumb part of the story. Is the author aware that the face stays the exact same whether you cover your hair or not? It’s the equivalent of coloring and cutting your hair and suddenly no one knows you anymore. I mean, come on! Unless the hairstyle is a Sia kind of hairstyle, people will know who you are at first glance. And guess what? Even Sia was recognized pretty much immediately even with her hair covering her face.
I wish that was the only dumb and unrealistic thing in the book. Sadly, I am not done. There were actually next to no realism at all in the story. It could be small things like people gasping over unexpected news (people don’t do that. It only happens in kids movies and books) or knowing they were being spied by a guy and still have a private conversation right under his nose. Or how the crown prince hired a kid as a bodyguard instead of a grownup with the experience and strength for it. Then there were the bigger things like how quickly the characters got over sorrow and tragedy, as if it never happened. For example, no one had any survivors guilt over Thalassic city where probably thousands drowned. In fact it was never even mentioned even though it was a huge life altering trauma at the end in the previous book. Characters dying had perhaps a minute of sorrow and then they were over it. But when it was about only a threat of someone dying Sadie had such a unrealistically extreme reaction that she had to puke. (Side note: if this review somehow finds its way to you, Siobhan Davis; people don’t puke over bad news. Unless they are already sick with the flu or food poison).
If we turn it back to my annoyance of Sadie again, there are also some unrealism there to discuss. Because as much as I loved the drama over the the big disruption in the relationship and then the event after (no spoilers, sorry) Sadie has the most unsatisfying and way too understanding reaction. Even if a person’s action is understandable (which she didn’t even know if it was or not in the beginning), if it affects the other person’s feelings or life negatively then a normal person still wouldn’t forgive him like everything that happened was okay. In other words, Sadie should still have been very upset, jealous and definitely taken the unfairness and resentment out on him. There should have been some sort of argument or any kind of stand off. But nothing. She is over it just like it never happened. Way to make the drama dramaless.
I know I am being very harsh, but these are just unforgivable mistakes to make in a book you’ve paid to read so of course I point them out. Sadly, there is a lot more I haven’t mentioned that to me just didn’t work or was just too weird. Were I to write about everything however this review would become too long so I’ll leave it here. I just hope that Saven Denial will have a higher standard. After all, the ending in Deception was very intriguing and mysterious. With that cliffhanger I just have to continue with this series.

Logan is off on some diplomatic mission with his father while Sadie is stuck with Haydn. The one girl is not a 100% sure she can trust the alien prince since he keeps lying and keeping things from her. Well she is not better since she is meeting with her friend Jarod who his part of the rebel that hate aliens. G, the rebel leader wants Sadie to kill the Saven royalty. There is also the Vice president who wants the king dead.
Drama so much drama…. The King hate humans, do not want Sadie & Logan to complete the ethero bound. He is secretly plotting to have Sadie kill. (Jeez everybody wants people dead in this book.) Logan is away like half of the book and finally return to dump Sadie (this is turning into Twilight 2.0) But of course he has a good reason, he must marry some alien princess to form an alliance with the Amaretti.
Lucky for them, the princess in question doesn’t care much romantically for Logan.
There is way too much I love you, more than anybody else blah blah & also annoying pet names. Epic romance when you are just seventeen? Give me a break…. Also the stupid love triangle was totally unnecessary.
That enough for me, I won’t continue this series.

OH MY GOD!!!!!! WHY!!!!!!!! JUST WHY!!!!!!!!!!
This book has been the best and worst book ever!!!!!!! It has taken me in the longest, most scariest, rollercoaster ride of my life!!!!
In so many scenes of the book I thought I was going to have a heart attack or a breakdown but then SIOBHAN DAVIS brought me back to life and then killed me all over again.

In so many scenes of the book I thought I was going to have a heart attack or a breakdown but then SIOBHAN DAVIS brought me back to life and then killed me all over again.

After reading the first book, I was so excited to get started on book 2. There is so much that happens in this book, and if you started with Saven Deception, then your appetite has most likely been set in place to read more about Sadie & Logan and their adventure that could lead to either discovering universal unity or enduring grand destruction. I am totally hooked, and can't wait to read book 3...I definitely need more...NOW!
I would recommend this book (and series) to fans of sci-fi and/or those that enjoy coming of age type stories. I promise, this whole series is like an improved take on the concept presented in 'The Host' by Stephenie Meyer...sci-fi writing style that should appeal to those that aren't already fans of the genre. I am currently reading the boxset of the Saven series as an advanced readers ecopy that I received on my kindle fire, but I wanted to voluntarily share my honest opinion about this book here.

I'm so glad I'm on Siobhan Davis's mailing list! I received an ARC of Saven Disclosure. Once I started reading I could not put down! The first book was great, this book even better! I am totally invested in all the characters and not just the main ones. This book was full of action and twist and turns that made me not stop reading till the end and left me feeling like I was the one hanging from a cliff and my fingers were slipping one by one! I wanted to scream because it ended! I can not wait till the next book to find out what happens! Thank you so much Siobhan Davis for giving me the pleasure of reading this awesome book!

OMG. What an ending to an amazing book.
Sadie has grown so much in this book and I had an idea as to what transpired in the cliffhanger but was hoping for it to be a different side.
I am loving the other characters that have grown through this book, Vin, Jarod, Neve and Haydn. It is all coming together in a way I didn't expect.

Wow
This series keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to see what happens. I'm so excited to read more. They just have so many problems and I'm sitting here like when they gonna finish their bond. But that's just me.

Holy smokes! What a roller coaster ride again! Davis has just set the bar higher for these series.

Sadie has gone through so much. Her life has changed. Everything has basically changed. Add in some more evil aliens and more twists and turns, this girl has some serious trouble going on. I love Sadie much more in this book. She is so sweet and so strong. Her love for her loved ones including Logan is one of the biggest points in this book. I love that she does not take crap from people and is still smart. Sadie is so complex and I love that she is feisty. However, this feistiness makes her such a great character. Her personal growth in this book is tremendous. She learns to become a leader instead of a follower.
Logan in this book at times was unlikable. I can see where he is coming from, but at times I wanted to smack some sense into him. However, his undying love for Sadie is just so sweet. He takes care of her. I love the lengths he goes to protect her. His love for his Eterno is like something I would crave. I need my own Logan. He’s an alien and hot. But underneath he is a truly good person. I love that Davis also in this book reveals more of his background. More layers to his personality is revealed and boy you will be surprised.
The entire plot of this book was just so fast paced. It was thrilling, romantic, and emotional. The government leaders of Thallasitc are just pure evil. Man, Davis really knows how to create some purely evil characters that you just want to bash up in the head. I also love that the secondary characters in this book had a bigger role and were more involved. Some twists and turns in this book are awaiting. Psst, you will also learn about Sadie, something unexpected. That’s all I’m going to say.
Well done Davis! I can’t wait to read Seven Denial and continue with the rest of the series! I highly recommend this book.

Sadie is in a unique position with regard to the Saven aliens, which has made her a major target. So she now is being closely guarded – until she gets a job within the Government administration as assistant to the Vice-President. However, all is not as it seems… And this is Davis’ superpower. She sets up a particular situation with Sadie in first person viewpoint thinking that all is going in one direction – until it is revealed that isn’t the case. And the reveal almost always ramps up the stakes so that Sadie’s personal happiness or someone very close to her is put in harm’s way. Of course, in order to continue reading – and I did – I have to care about Sadie and those around her.
This is a YA read, so the protagonist is inevitably feeling out of her depth and the romance is sweet and frustrated rather than steamy with Sadie spending a fair amount of time agonising as to whether Logan really loves her. However, this is science fiction adventure with a romantic element rather than being a romance that uses the sci fi backdrop as a convenient setting for the relationship, so while it part of the driver for the plot, there is a lot more going on than just a love story.
I found Sadie’s steady character development from the first book credible – particularly her growing ability to protect herself when she is attacked, given all the coaching she has received from Haydn, the bodyguard assigned to look after her. As for the supporting cast, they are well written and suitably complex. Logan is desirable and clearly in love with Sadie, yet I still have issues with aspects of his behaviour – not a surprise with the Saven species both aggressive and intent on galaxy-wide domination, before they gained consciences by interacting with humans. His bossiness and tendency to order Sadie around grates with me. The antagonists in the story, including Logan’s father, are suitably horrible and one of them proves to be unexpectedly powerful – another plot twist that caught me unawares.
The action in the last third of the book is continuous, with one shock after another all culminating into a major cliffhanger, whereby the book ends with everything hanging in the balance. I hate it when that happens… At least Davis does apologise for leaving everything up in the air – and the good news is that you don’t have to wait before getting hold of the novella Saven Denial which immediately picks up the story.

What a cliffhanger of all cliffhangers...thank goodness I don't have to wait to read the next books because it would have been agony! This is why I prefer not to start a newly written series. Great book and an amazing series!

I want to thank the author for providing me with this book for free. I know that you didn't ask for a review Ms. Davis but I wanted to post my review here as well as including part of it in the email I sent you.
Are you entirely sure it was necessary to leave me hanging like that? I mean don't get me wrong, I too love a good cliff hanger but after the emotional roller coaster you sent me on the past couple of days as I've been reading this book you left me heart broken and scared for both Sadie and Logan. I'm crying my eyes out as I type this. I'm one of those readers that gets a serious emotional attachment to characters so the fact that we seem to be losing Ella is killing me because I know it will kill Sadie. To be perfectly honest I'm not mad at Ms. Davis for the cliff hanger. I'm mad at myself for not seeing it coming. I knew that I was on the last chapter and at like 94% or something like that but I guess I just got too deep into the world or something because I didn't see it coming until it was too late.
I love reading science fiction because of the freedom the genre has with technology. Add in a pinch romance, some hot aliens and a few Will Smith references and you've got my new favorite series. I can't wait to finally be able to read the rest of the books.

And if that isn't enough, a twist in the plot has Sadie confronted by an unexpected and unrequited love that could destroy a friendship while Logan has to deal with a union that will sabotage their Eterno connection. As the couple grapple with the assaults on their bond, romance blossoms between Ella and Jarod only to be ripped apart when she's abducted.
