There are some books you read and there are some books you totally relate yourself to. This one falls under the latter category. If you are an Indian (especially from the south), go and read this book right now. The author has some really strong statements throughout the book that makes you think about yourself, your society and much more. The storyline keeps moving at a decent pace. At time things are too poetic and perfect to be construed as reality, but hey isn't that what a suspense book is about? Was it a bluff, double bluff or a triple bluff?

P.S. I know the author and I've read his blog and other texts before but he takes it to a whole new level with this book. Knowing him didn't bias my review by any mean.

I absolutely loved it! I haven't read much books to have an opinion about books yet but I loved it nevertheless. The story was excellent. The narrative was to the point. I loved the small tid bits about life in between. I could related to most of it and some also made me rethink my opinions. The descriptions and analogies were beautiful. I re-read many stuff to enjoy it to the full. Wonderful writing all the way. I loved how the characters stayed in character throughout the story. Nobody reacted out of their character. The establishment of character and the consistency was perfect. Towards the end, I could see why the characters would do the things the do. Everything was justified and excellently written. The final twist blew me away. The book could not have ended any better. Though I could predict some of the twists before, the final one took the whole story to another level.

Right from the beginning of the story, this book had me hooked to it for the unique style of writing, witty humour, gripping storyline, unpredictable suspense, thrill and my necessity to know what's next. I would most certainly recommend this book to my friends who love reading.

Anand has written a quality fiction with less reality in the story but, a lot of sense in the lines used to write it.
I am not surprised at the outcome, but to have been around him so many months and not interacted that much with him, made me feel incomplete for having aged this much.

Once I asked him, "According to you, who / what is God?"
He replied, "To me God is like Algebra. I don't understand both."
Some replies like this have amused me. He will make a great writer. I hope, in the coming days as well, he writes for his fulfilment and not to please readers.

You, if you are a reader of fiction, you must read "The Bluff". It is a must read, unlike most other Indian English Novels. Because, it has the following aspects:
1. No Heroine
2. So, as the deduction goes, no Chetan Bhagat stuff.
3. No IIM / IIT or Engineering college scenes. ( At least the cliched ones )
4. No love, romance or any love failure expert advice.
Some lines make you awe...
Some lines make you think he is very old.
And, a few more make you think he is just a small kid
Fantastic Job. Go on and get your copy. Tell me when you read it, about how you felt.

Not a story I took to I'm afraid, I couldn't read to the end.
I'll re read again in the future and see if I can make more sense of it.
I was given a digital copy of this book by the publisher Black Hawk/Ravenswood in return for an honest unbiased review.

Though the writing is nice and the author has a passion for writing, a book of this genre needed some crisp writing with less usage of metaphors. A lot of the 'lighter vein instances' tend to derail you from the premise and seem to be fit in forcibly. A bit too long for a thriller! A fairly decent first attempt!
