Lion shifter Mason Martinez has history with Evangeline, the curvy sexy tigress sister of Lézare Arceneaux. For Mason, it’s not history. Except that Evie hates him. She’s hated him since college, when they split up. Evie has no problem burying things—usually.
So why can’t she bury her feelings for Mason Martinez? Permanently.
Now the two of them are missing. Find out what happens when an Arceneaux goes missing!
If hot sex skeeves you out, you may want to pass on this book. If freaky, downright dirty sexy talk bothers you, yeah, for sure you gotta pass on this one. We believe in sex--hot, dirty, delicious sex. Yup, make it sweaty, too. It's not just sex, it's about the romance. But good romance has sex, and we keep the doors open! Oh, and the lights on! ;)
This is the story of the last of the Arceneaux siblings—Evangeline, aka Evie and the tie-in of all the events of Escape Weekend. She’s a spoiled brat who so self absorbed with her hatred of her ex, lion shifter she loves, Mason. He’s come to Escape Weekend for answers as to what he did and why she hates him. Instead of being an adult about things, Evie hides herself away and has temper tantrums. When Alexa isn’t able to take the attendees to a trip in the city and none of the other siblings are around, Evie is forced to handle the situation. While at a specialized restaurant/club for supernaturals, Evie runs into Mason’s ex-college roommate, a bear shifter who always made her uncomfortable even though she could never put her finger on why. She and Mason are drugged and kidnapped. From that point on, things really get crazy. As all the stories are so far, I’m glad that eventually even they get their HEA and we get some more answers about the illegal shifter fight club. I think that there are still some questions about that that haven’t been answered and that Lézare still has his work cut out removing that blight from his territory.
This book (number 18j in the Shifter Forever Worlds was really enjoyable. It was great to finally learn what happened between these two. Let me just say this...Todd ewwww!
I was torn about this one. Overall, I liked the story, but not as much as most others in the series. It was great to get Evie and Mason back together, but Evie is not a favorite character for me. I find her petulant and annoying with her temper tantrums. She is the baby sister and acts like it most of the time. I spent a lot of time wanting to smack her and tell her to grow up already. I kept wondering what made Mason cling to her as a mate. The ending where the truth is finally revealed to her was rather anticlimactic. It felt like the last chapter and epilogue were rushed. I did not get the point of the meeting at Leandra's cabin. They kept talking about matters that needed settled, but nothing much was said that they didn't already know, except for Evie because she kept herself hidden away while everything was happening with her family. It just felt disjointed and confusing in the last couple chapters. The action scenes were great though. The pacing of the story was good. I just didn't like Evie. Solid 3 stars this time.
I really like Theo and Leandra both and look forward to reading their continuing story next.
Elle's writing holds your attention the whole way through. I can't wait for the next story. I love the way each one lead's into the next book so smoothly.
Evie and Mason's story is wonderful. After the build up of their story in Elle Thorne's Only After Dark series, their story had to be great. We finally get the answer for why Evie is so angry and hurt with Mason. (I'm not going to give it away here but it's a doozy) Of course we also get caught up on some of the other characters in the Arceneaux family. One of the things I love about Elle's writing style is her ability to know what her readers questions would be and their desire to know more about her characters once a book has ended. With each book the glimpses into the lives of her characters from previous books ties the stories together. I can't wait for the next spin-off series to start. I received an ARC for my honest review.
Fast paced and action packed, this shifter romance was great! Evil was betrayed by he one man that she loved above all others, or as she? When she discovers the truth will it be too late to save their future?
Oh my! I love this series! I hope it never goes away! I loved reading about Mason and Evie! We finally find out why she won't talk or have anything to do with Mason. If you loved the other books you will love this next installment!
I can't get enough of these books. I am reading and wondering when is the next one coming out. I love this author and I definitely recommend reading all her books.
Once again I have fallen hard for another warrior. I enjoy this series and eagerly await for more. The plot thickens with each book and gets better each time. Love it!
Rubbish as the other books in the series were, I'm not going to waste my time on this one, particularly knowing that it features foot stomper in chief. Grow the fuck up woman, seriously. Also, do all the women in this clan look identical 'sexy curvy hot redhead' to sort-of quote. BBW all over the place. Also, if they all have red hair, why are they white tigers? Shouldn't they be blonde?
