I read this 9 years ago. I remember the exact date even. It was a rainly April and I was sick. I had few Adventure novels, but I finished them all. As I was bored, decided to go for a 'dusty and boring' book of my father. I started this, and was up almost all the night finishing it. I've read many about old and rural days of Sri Lanka, and the most were written by Englishmen. But this is nothing like those translations. Old cultural Sinhala usage, pure sinhala view point ( note that most of the educated Sinhalese at that time didn' had a Sinhala view point about the society ) , and genuine rural world made everything so pure and tasty. This book never had the recognition it deserve. Read it, you will never regret it. ( Apologies for the English review. )
