I was sent to kill her father. I'm taking her home instead.
DANTE
It was only supposed to be one night.
One night with me and I’d make her father’s debt to the Zappia crime family a little easier to swallow. Turns out, swallowing ain’t much of an issue for Lucy Vaughn.
I should never have gotten involved with her. Now, the Zappia family is after her and she’s lost everything. Hell, even Snake Eyes — the deadliest criminal organization on the planet — wants to see her in the ground.
It’s all my fault. A few blissful nights in my bed and her life is ruined.
Lucy wants payback. She wants to watch them burn for what they did to her and I can’t say she’s wrong. But I won’t let her become a killer. Not like me.
LUCY
I was a dancer. The star ballerina of my father’s dance company. Until one day, Dante Hart came strolling into his office and whisked me off to his place.
The next thing I knew, my entire world burned around me.
The Zappia family took everything from me. I want to return the favor in blood.
Luckily, I know a man who knows a little something about killing but Dante ain’t interested in teaching me much outside of his bed.
I will have my revenge. With or without him.
Now, where did he hide the keys to these cuffs?
The Hitman's Dancer is a suspense novel. It contains violence, lots of steam, and is intended for adults only.
The Snake Eyes Series Reading Order 1. Bodyguard 2. The Hitman's Dancer 3. Love and Wargames 4. Bloodlines 5. Hard Bounty 6. No Fury
USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author Tabatha Kiss is from Chicago, Illinois.
You can probably catch her huddled up in a hoodie, reading a good romance beneath a tree with her trusty husky by her side. She enjoys roller derby, sushi, and is always searching for her forever bad boy.
These books Snake Eyes Series are standalone's Dante is the hitman for the Italian mafia. There's a lot of twist and turns that's what makes this book so hard to put down. I love the story of Dante and Lucy looking forward for the third book in the series. 5 star read for me
For honest review. This story is if danta and Lucy he's a Whitman working undercover in the mob but works for snake eyes .she is a ballerina she meets him throughout father that has gambling debt see their story .I found that I liked how danta takes care of her and that he loved her a first sight and I loved how she doesn't let him get away with things.
Lucy and Dante will keep you on your toes! Lucy is you classic prima ballerina with a twist 😘 She is unapologetically brash and has a mouth that would make a sailor blush but it work for the pirouetting beauty. Her father has once again gotten himself into a jam with with mob owing a gambling debt he has no way to pay this time they mean to collect to his life and they send their cleaner to take care of the job. Dante expected a quick and easy job when he walked into the ballet studio - a little begging a little pleading and then bing bang boom job done... What he didn't count on was being sucked in by a photo of his hits daughter. One look and he is intrigued so intrigued he offers to buy the loan from his boss if he can just get one night with the daughter. He likes Lucy's spirit even more than her beauty and offers her a night she will never forget but only if she makes the first move. As they grow closer they realize the insta connection they feel is cry powerful and amazing rare, but Dante knows that he has little to offer such a sweet miss and when the cards are dealt and the chips are down he just might ruin her life. Dragging her into his darkness would be wrong, but denying them both love would be an injustice as well... all's fair in dance and hitman!
Dante is instantly attracted to Lucy when he sees her picture in her father's office. It's more than lust, and he has no problem bargaining a night of her company to handle her father's gambling debt. Lucy is strong and spirited. She knows she should fear Dante, logically, but her heart and body are saying different. Grudges and the consequences of Fox's actions ( Book 1) sends Dante and Lucy's worlds into turmoil. Dante on the run from the government and his former employers. Lucy has just seen everyone she cared for murdered, she was left for dead. Together the two seek revenge, so they can move forward with their future. The Hitman's Dancer is a well-written continuation of Kiss's Snake Eyes Series. I looked forward to seeing more from the secondary characters introduced and the rest of the aftermath from Fox's actions.
The ballet dancer and the hitman. Dante is sent to collect a debt but the ballet theatre owner can't pay so Dante finds an alternative method of payment the daughter a prima ballerina Lucy for one night, but one night is not enough. It was good, nicely paced with a good story, dialogue and characters. Its a little short as quite big things happen and more detail especially when Lucy is in danger and her reaction should have been investigated and Lucy forgave Dante far too quickly.
I love, love, love the storyline and the characters. I want to be Lucy!!! She is one bad*** ballerina!!! And don't get me started with Dante!! A killer with a heart of gold. There are lots of twists and a shockingly, dark scene!! Definitely want to read the rest of the series!
Humorous and amusing bantering alternates with breathtaking and thrilling moments… Sparkling characters bring the extremely suspenseful plot to life… Lucy and Dante, the two main characters, are truly amazing as are the side characters of Lilah and Elijah, Dante’s siblings… I really devoured this book!
Dante and Lucy's story is HOT!!! Dante sees Lucy's picture and he has to have her which sets off a chain of events that no one can foresee. This book was EXCITING and I can't wait to read the next book in the series!
Each book in the Snake Eyes series just keeps getting better!! Great read, love the suspense and Dante and Lucy! Looking forward to reading more of this series!
What surprises lurk around every corner. Backstory skillfully woven so doesn't slow action. Still leaves me with questions. But guess that keeps me following you.
The Hitman’s Dancer is the second book in the Snake Eyes series. It’s Lucy and Dante’s story, written in alternating POVs, and it’s another winner from Tabitha Kiss. It’s an original plot that is gritty, shocking, and addictive. Put a sexy hitman and foul-mouthed ballerina together and this story takes a life of its own. The Hitman’s Dancer just grabbed me and kept my attention until the end. Fair warning, though, this story has more bloody violence than the first book which forced me to squirm a little beyond my comfort zone, but hey, if you know anything about “The Godfather” the gore and violence is totally believable.
Dante Hart comes to Chicago hired as a hitman for a crime family. He’s sent to kill Terrence Vaughn, Lucy’s father, for unpaid gambling debts but brokers a deal with him. The deal is one night with Lucy in exchange for wiping out the gambling debt owed to the mob. He just never expected to fall hard for Lucy. While Dante’s true mission is undercover work in the Zappia family following a hunch on a possible data leak on Snake Eyes, a secret organization of assassins which Dante is a member, he knows Lucy is collateral damage in a dangerous situation and he’s unwilling to leave her behind. There’s something about Lucy looking at him, like no other woman ever has, that has him wanting her over the risk of his mission.
I found Lucy admirable; she has moxie, and a tough-as-nails kind of fortitude. Lucy’s whole world is suddenly taken from her, and since ballet is her life she wonders if she can dance again. Both Dante and Lucy are drawn together while she heals from a traumatic assault by mafia thugs. There is so much passion and sizzling chemistry, and the snappy dialogue between them is refreshing. With Dante being a dangerous man, Lucy never fears of getting hurt by him. Dante finds Lucy a challenge and embraces it. With her, that bit of darkness within himself begins to lighten with all the brightness Lucy shows him. I loved how Dante supported Lucy emotionally and comforted her in the loss of family and career. He teaches her self defense as part of her healing.
The Hitman’s Dancer is entertaining and riveting. We are introduced to Dante’s twin siblings, Elijah and Lilah. They’re pretty interesting and I hope we get each of their stories. Great job, Ms. Kiss.
Copy provided by author in exchange for an honest review.
When Dante Hart, Mafia Hitman working for the Zappias, went to kill Terrance Vaughn over a money debt, he saw a picture of Lucy, Vaughn’s daughter, and immediately changed his plans. Seems he could make a good deal with Vaughn. He wanted Lucy and Vaughn agreed in exchange of his life. Lucy, unwilling, accepted her father request. She understood what was at stake and went with Dante but she had not expected the feelings that were aroused. When things went for worse, she was thinking: What was I thinking getting involved with a hitman? With a curse, of course, because she was a mouthy girl. Dante, the killer, was in deep in his organization and he and Lucy were compromised. They were in the run, fighting for their lives and everything looked dark and more complicated each time. This is Dante and Lucy story with lot of action, suspense, sex, intrigue, betrayal and violence. Full of twists that kept my attention all the time because there was no time to be boring, just focus in the action and the danger around the protagonists. I was surprised when learned what Snake Eyes work was about. With so much things going on since the beginning that information made sense and added to the intrigue. The author made a very good work with the development of the plot. The narrations and dialogs were smart, to the point, not simple neither gross in spite of the violence in there. I felt a rollercoaster of emotions with Dante and Lucy’s characters. Their chemistry felt good and genuine despite both were struggling with their feelings all the time. Lucy, our heroine was a very strong woman with her mind set and a purpose ahead. She showed she was capable and up to the task at hand. Dante was portrayed cold, arrogant and sexy but at the same time his character was compelling, struggling with what his life has become. This is the first story that I had read from this series and I’m going for the first one: Bodyguard immediately because I liked The Hitman.’s Dancer very much. Received the book for an honest review
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
Snake Eyes is not dead after all. There are 3 players still in the game, a dangerous game. Only one has a softened heart for a particular girl. Dante Hart is sent to kill Lucy Vaughn's dad due to bad debt, which is now beyond payback time. He strikes a deal. He will pay the debt for Lucy's dad to the Zappia family (horrible little roaches that they are) in exchange for a night with Lucy. He will also be paid back by Lucy's dad with payments that "may be easier to pay with no interest" as well. Dad knows this is not the right thing to do, but also is feeling hopeless. He has to go explain to his daughter that she just became his free ticket sort of.
Lucy is a wise mouthed ballerina who doesn't take crap but will call you out when she sees or hears it. She is livid that daddy dearest sold her like a pimp. She mouths off and in the end agrees. Her intention is to be as rude and hopefully NOT ending up in bed with the devil per se. All doesn't go as planned, although she makes it a lot longer than either thought she would.
He falls for her, she is his light in the darkness. She wants revenge for the little rat family that injured her and killed her father. Dante is who she enlists to help her. He will take the blame for this and do the killing so her name is never spoiled. How does this happen, he has tricks up his sleeve and so does she. They play off each other in a very good way. He loves her, and she does him. How do they get their happy ending. This is the reason, you NEED to read this book. I was hooked and unable to put this book down, and then just when you think things will keep going in one direction there is a couple of other ways it does go. Awesome book.
Genre: Romance - mafia, hitman, action, suspense Stand-alone: Yes Part of a Series: Yes - Book 2 of the Snake Eyes Series. At one point part of the plat stems from what happens in book 1 and the character is mentioned as well but it's explained so that you aren't lost POV: Alternating Lucy and Dante Steam Level: My kindle may have melted a little 5/5
This series keeps getting better! In this book we meet Dante, a hitman for the Russian Mafia, and Lucy, ballerina who's father Dante was sent to kill. The plan changes when Dante offers to pay off Lucy's father debt for one night with Lucy. The chemistry between Dante and Lucy is explosive! Lucy is the type of heroine I love - independent and mouthy with spunk and grit. Lucy is constantly challenging Dante who wants to protect her, even if it mean hand-cuffing her to the bed. This book is a battle of wit and wills. And, while I figured out the revelation, it was fun seeing the reveal/plot-thickener. This book was a fun ride that gripped me from the start.
Although book 2 in the Snake Eyes series the characters and story are different. You don't need to read book 1 (Bodyguard) to enjoy this one but it does give you some insight to why what happens when if does (correlating to the events at the end of book 1) and you can figure out who characters are that these characters are learning about (none of which are integral to this plot - just a fun hello to readers of Bodyguard.)
Tabatha Kiss a fabulous writer and the more books I read of hers, the more I like her. I highly recommend picking up (any) of her books. So far all have been action-packed, fun, gripping and sexy - The Hitman's Dancer included. I can't wait to read the next book in this series!
He made her an offer she didn't think she could refuse. If she spends the night with him, her father would be safe. She doesn't expect to enjoy it so much. What should have ended quickly, leads to a dangerous situation that will change both of their lives forever.
Lucy is a ballet dancer for her father's company in Chicago. She loves dance. Her father is a compulsive gambler and regularly in dept to the mob. When he tells her that the hitman has agreed to save him in exchange for a night with him, she reluctantly agrees. She expects so old wise guy not a gorgeous man like Dante.
Dante has led a difficult life and killing is what he does. It gives him a high unlike anything else. He wants Lucy and makes a bargain with her. The night together is so intense and leads to a set of circumstances that require them to work together if he wants to save Lucy from his enemies.
I really liked the characters. They are not stereotypes but very complicated and developed characters. Lucy is a strong woman. When she loses everything she cared about, she doesn't just get angry or sad. She demands retribution. She refuses to give up. Dante may be a killer but he has strong protective instincts. He loves his family. He wants to keep Lucy safe from others and also from her own desires that might be just as dangerous.
The story is suspenseful and focuses equally well on the romance and the action. Both of the characters narrate during the story and I enjoyed that as I feel it gives me a better understanding of their motivations and desires.
We learned about snakes eyes from bodyguard with Dani Roberts. If your to remember correctly it's a Maria hit team who shots out both eyes hence the snake eyes. I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review and it was totally thrilling and also so emotional. You will see strength in a beautiful sweet sassy woman. And compassion in the eyes of a known killer. But what can I say love does strange things to us all. Dante is a hitman for the Zappia crime family, who is given a mission of getting rid of a nuisance for the family who owns them a lot of money. Mr. Vaughn a lot and doesn't pay so he has become a liability. Problem with the sexy hitman was that he caught site of Mr. Vaughn beautiful ballerina daughter and is taken by her. So he see a deal in the mist of all this crazy cr**a deal that will not only keep Lucy Mr Vaughn's safe but with him... What he doesn't know is that sweet and innocent looking woman has a sassy temper and is braver than she should be .. But with his skill he will keep her safe or die trying.... Lucy is a beautiful and super talent ballerina who wants to accomplish so many things. She would love to prove to others who think her a privilege little daddy girl that she worked hard to get where she was and where she was going.. But daddy's bad habits have a way of getting in her way. Now she is with some hitman who says he is trying to keep them alive. Well hump she has things to do and people to put in there place. But what she did not plan was to be completely captivating and sensually attracted to this man named Dante. Will he really keep her safe? Is there a forever for them?
Dante went to Mr. Vaughn's office to kill him for his unpaid debt to the Zappia family. But when he saw his daughter's photo frame in the office, he was drawn to the beautiful ballerina and demanded a night with her in exchange for his life.
Lucy had no choice but to save her dad and her family's business. While the idea of a date with a criminal didn't leave a pleasant taste to her, she was surprised to see that everything about him was dangerously beautiful and magnetically sexy. And it seemed that she may not have had a choice , but she willingly gave in to her desires.
The passion between them was so explosive. But when his identity was revealed, Lucy lost everything she treasured , including her dreams. Dante nursed her until she healed and trained her to face the perpetrators, as she wanted revenge.
Dante wanted Lucy safe. Lucy was stubborn. In the end , they became each other's strengths and was able to come out victorious.
Oh, this book was fantastic ! The Hitman's Dancer is not a light read, it certainly had bloodshed and some serious mafia action, but it's vibrant and quick-paced. I couldn’t put it down as I was hooked. And the characters were awesome . I loved Lucy's tenacity and passion. And Dante was certainly a bad boy but his love for his siblings and for Lucy was so endearing. And my gosh, this book was off-the-charts super sexy ! This was an absolutely fantastic mafia romance !
*** Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review *** This is a dynamic continuous story of the Snake Eyes assassins. This is the story of Lucy Vaughn and Dante Hart. In this follow up story, you will be exposed to renewal, reunited, reawakened, betrayal and great creation of love which are key components in this story. You never see what's coming in this story, and when all is revealed, it is done with perfect writing by an author that's getting better and better the more she writes! Dante is a hitman for the Snake Eyes group and was undercover within the Zappia mafia family seeking the whereabouts of a copied master file of the Snake Eyes operation and names. He was assigned to kill Lucy father for gambling debt he owed the Zappia family and from that everything went to he**. The writing is rich and intelligent, and the characters are well developed without being overdone. I simply loved it! I loved everything about it. I loved the main character (Lucy with her smart mouth, hotheaded temper) and Dante!!! This book is another emotional journey and I swear I just sat there thinking can poor Lucy catch a break? Oops, enough been said I don't want to ruin it for others so reach out and get this amazing book worth reading and I'm looking for the next one.....
I received this for a honest review. Love Tabatha Kiss’ books. Even though this is the second book in the series this is a standalone.
I actually love Dante Hart. I found him quite the sexy bad boy. He was a hitman. There were a few secrets to him that is revealed in the book, but sorry you will have to read them to find out. He worked for Antony Zappia. He was sent to kill Terrance Vaughn. In a way I think Dante had more a heart then he thought. Yes he was a hitman, but if he did not have a heart he would of just killed Terrance instead of make a deal. Dante want at least one night with Terrance’s daughter.
I can not imagine what went through Lucy Vaughn’s mind when her father told her to go out with Dante and that she might have to even sleep with him. She was use to her dad screwing up but this did not stop her from loving him. He was all she had.
Lucy was a dancer and danced in her father’s dance studio. This might of been one of the many things that stood out to Dante. Things will get hot and steamy between Dante and Lucy. Lucy will find she needs, wants, and desires him more then she thought she could in such a short time.
Lucy wants revenge against Marty Zappia. She wants Dante to train her. Dante is having no of it, will Lucy be able to convince him other wise? This was an awesome story and so worth reading.
This can easily be read as a stand alone, but why would you want to? This is book 2. You get a more background about Snake Eyes in the first book. Dante is a hired killer for the Zappia crime family in Chicago. When he goes for his next hit, he sees a picture of the man's daughter on a bookshelf and makes assumptions about the pretty dancer based on the photo alone. MISTAKE! He proposes rather than killing the man for his debts that he will make good for one night with his daughter. to Mr. Vaughn's credit, her wants to clear it with his daughter up front. Lucy is agreeable and she & Dante spend the night together. Surprisingly, not in the way Dante envisioned. Lucy's got...let's call it spirit. She's sassy, a bit brassy and bold. I liked her right away. The chemistry between them is instant, but this is no ordinary romance when both a crime family and a group of underground assassins are involved. Throw in a lady who speaks her mind and you're in for one heck of a fast paced roller coaster of a thrill ride. I really enjoyed this read and have completely fallen for Tabatha's writing. She keeps the pages turning at such a fast pace that you don't ever want to put her books down. The HEA's are hard fought with enough fun along the way to keep it from getting too heavy. I highly recommend this read. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
dante is sent to collect a debt to the mob, only he won't be cashing in money, he cashes debts another way : their lives! when he sees a young girl pictured in a photo behind his target his curiosity gets the better of him. and he decides to take things into his own hands. he wants lucy who's now in her early twenties. lucy is fuming when her father begs her to go out with dante, that it's his only chance to stay alive! lucy has a hard time biting her tongue and thinks she'll have to go out with one of this italian guys with a big belly, sweaty, reeking of smoke. dante wasn't that at all! he was the epitome of tall, dark and dangerous and seemingly liking her witty come backs. things start out rocky but the spark the simmered the whole time burst into a million stars. but quickly after things go downhill fast when dante's true identity is discovered and his connection with snake eyes! it's a different kind of family that steps up to help him and lucy!
what an addition this was! i had trouble putting down book 1 and book 2 was no different! it's clear snake eyes is a bunch of trouble waiting to happen and their members and / or ex-members aren't people you want to mess with, specially when you threaten the people they care about! i'll keep an eye for book 3!
This is the 2nd book I have read by this author and it is loosely connected to the first. Our H is Dante, an undercover hitman in the mafia and member of Snake Eyes. Our h is Lucy Vaughn, a dancer and daughter to an unlucky gambler.
This book begins with Dante making a visit to Terrance for the money he owes to the mafia. He sees a picture of a girl and finds out it is Terrance's daughter, Lucy. Dante expresses that he would like to spend time with Lucy and will take care of the debt so money will then be owed to him. When Lucy's father comes to her with Dante's offer, she is livid, until she sees Dante. She is still angry at his high-handedness but agrees to go with the stipulation that nothing will happen between them unless she touches him. Needless to say, she touches him. When Snake Eyes is exposed and Dante's cover is blown, the Mafia goes after Lucy.
I loved Dante, just loved him. Lucy, I loved even more. She was so strong and with everything she went through, she could have been weak. She pushed to get better and then planned her revenge. This was a great 2nd book and I hope we have more books for Dante's brother and sister and hopefully Caleb and Boxcar.
This was an enjoyable read. I liked the characters. There isn't a whole bunch of crossover from the first novel, character-wise at least. There was a little bit, but pretty much that's all just the characters being mentioned because the fallout of what Fox did plays a large role in this story. I liked the new characters that were introduced. Dante is a very different hero than the previous hero in this series, Fox. If you read the first book in the series, don't expect this one to be just like it. It's not. The characters are different and what drives them is different. I very much enjoyed it, but figured a heads up would be good. Dante is a darker hero and Lucy is his light. I liked the character development and how Lucy and Dante fit together. Dante is very much an alpha male but Lucy doesn't allow him to just walk right over her. She has a mind of her own and isn't afraid to use it. The sex is explicit and fairly frequent. It fit the story and the characters and so everything worked for me without a problem. I liked Dante's siblings and I can't wait to see what is going to happen with them. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book.
I really enjoy reading the snake eyes. I like that fact it is a stand alone but does link to the first. It's an easy book to follow and read which makes it enjoyable. Full of twists and turns with action. definitely worth a read.
The story is about Lucy and dante about a deal they made to save her fathers life. But marty zappa doesn't life lairs and doesn't take to we'll to being shot.
Lucy has a foul tongue and refuse to hold it. strong and willful Lucy loves to dance and loves to keep to her routine. so when her father puts Lucy into a situation she goes in head first and doesn't hold back.
dante is the Italians personal assain who does their dirty work. so when he must kill a man for 20 grand he decides to make a deal with the man for his life. One night with his daughter and he pays the mafia. dante is trained as snake eyes. Every think he does has been plan and through throw before putting it to action.
dante and Lucy story takes a turn for the worse when secretes come out and personal revenge can cloud a person's mind.
loved the story loved he characters I hope their is more from snake eyes. received it his for an honest review
This is the second installment in the Snake Eyes series, but is not really connected to the first book.
As the author mentioned, this is a standalone, although some characters from the first were also here, albeit briefly.
The story is set in Chicago and I like how simple and fast-paced the story was written. Lucy meant more to Dante than the passing intimate acquaintance, and I'm putting it mildly.
There are some violence here and sex too of course, and it's also about getting back up from a nasty fall.
Lucy's character is really strong. She was physically helpless at first because it's not everyday you need to F*ck a hitman to pay your father's debts.
Things between Lucy and Dante progressed from there until a series of events forced them to hide in a safe place. Afterwards, she learned basic self-defense and weapons handling so she could fight next time.
All in all this was a fun and sexy read. Throw in the mafia and an exposed underground group of mercs and you'll have good times.
Received this complimentary Arc copy from the author for an honest review. A Bet.....A Gamble.. That's all it took to start the ball rolling. Dante Hart is a Hitman. Time to collect a debt, but he gets more than he bargained for...her Lucy Vaughan. Now it's a gamble. One night with Lucy and her father's debt will be paid by him. One night is not enough. Fate takes a hand and now Dante and Lucy's lives are entwined . Marty Zappa, sick son of crime boss. He wants revenge on Dante so he picks his mark.....Lucy. This story of Dante and Lucy is so involved. He cannot understand why he wants/needs her in his life. The trail of destruction caused by Marty is so awful that Dante has to take matters in his own hands...but.... Lucy has her say too. She has had to become so strong, so different from before. Her feelings for Dante have now changed. She needs/wants him too but there is a bigger goal at the end of this...REVENGE. A fast paced story that makes you want to be by their side , for the good over evil. Lovely to hear about Dantes twin siblings too. Fantastic read.
