HARD ROCK ROOTS BOX SET EXCERPT:
Turner releases my waist and leans his back against the wall of the bar, yanking his phone from his pocket with hands dancing in stars, paw prints, spiderwebs. He's just this dirty sexy mess of color … so wrong that he's right. He's got a filthy mouth and an arrogant attitude and he's so drunk he can barely stand right now … but I like him anyway. More than I did before tonight. Most. I'm totally in love with this guy. I suck in a deep breath. Stupid thought. Really stupid thought. I know that, but I can't help it. I came here tonight chasing an impossible dream and so far, it kind of looks like it's coming true. I mean, Turner Campbell came to me. Me. He came to me, and we're hanging out and he keeps looking at me like he can't get enough. I run my fingers through my blonde hair as he lifts his eyes and traces the movement. “You're way too hot for your own good, you know that?” Turner asks, sliding his phone back in his pocket and taking a step towards me. “Like a broken angel Barbie doll.” “I'm no f*cking Barbie doll,” I say, but his hands are sliding along my jaw and tangling in my hair, pulling my lips to his, burning a hole straight through to my heart. Our mouths slide together and his tongue teases mine with this slow burn that makes my whole body start to ache, that encourages me to raise up onto my toes and taste him, drag as much broken royal bloody rock star into my mouth that I can get. Turner tastes like a dirty lollipop dipped in whiskey and swirled in dirt, a little bit sweet and a whole lot sour. A little bit wrong. A little bit like mistakes. My arms come up and wrap his neck, pull him into me as tight as I can get, my breasts smashing into his hard chest as we slide our tongues together and he grinds his er*ction into me. Turner's music rides his kiss like a wave, crashing into my mouth and drowning me in old pain, hard lessons, fresh starts. I want to start over with this guy, chase him onto the stage and scream every thought and feeling and heartache I've ever had into the microphone. I'm in heaven right now. Or h*ll. Probably h*ll, but that's okay, too. For years I've wanted to be anywhere but here, anywhere but this ugly world with its ugly people and its ugly truths.
C.M. Stunich is a self-admitted bibliophile with a love for exotic teas and a whole host of characters who live full time inside the strange, swirling vortex of her thoughts. Some folks might call this crazy, but Caitlin Morgan doesn't mind - especially considering she has to write biographies in the third person. Oh, and half the host of characters in her head are searing hot bad boys with dirty mouths and skillful hands (among other things). If being crazy means hanging out with them everyday, C.M. has decided to have herself committed.
She hates tapioca pudding, loves to binge on cheesy horror movies, and is a slave to many cats. When she's not vacuuming fur off of her couch, C.M. can be found with her nose buried in a book or her eyes glued to a computer screen. She's the author of over thirty novels - romance, new adult, fantasy, and young adult included. Please, come and join her inside her crazy. There's a heck of a lot to do there.
Oh, and Caitlin loves to chat (incessantly), so feel free to e-mail her, send her a Facebook message, or put up smoke signals. She's already looking forward to it.

This book has all the negatives you don't wan't to read in a book. The only good thing it has is good spelling. Sex, drugs, rape, violence, murder, abortion, booze, plus slutty behavior. The sex, drugs, drinking is constant 24/7, which is just too much. Doesn't even sound real. And the mention of bodies smelling and sweaty gave me concerns on the characters' hygiene habits and made me imagine that their bus is a hovel, with the mention of frequent puking all over the place. I found it frankly gross and unappealing. There's a good story here, and if the author had made the setting a little less gross and pathetic it could have been riveting. As it is, I was grossed out and am doing a DNF.
I am so hooked on this series! CM does get you each time you think the story is coming to an end another cliff hanger is there. But that's all right, because I want Naomi and Turner's story to keep on going. Don't stop until they are in their70's and still rocking.
I bought the box set with the first 5 books and now I just purchased book 6. I wish there was another box set with the next group of books. Really liked the nitty gritty dirty stories. The way the characters speak and explode across the pages is so effective in getting their stories across!
Really recommend everything so far that I have read. Keep them coming!!!
As a whole, I'm going to give this series 5 rocking stars, wow, it was so, so gooood. C.M. Stunich is a new to me author who had me so hooked on these bands stories that after I finished this boxed set, amazing that it was, I went on to read the entire catalogue of the individually written books left in it, over a one week time period. Immersed, all in and happy to be there. I can say with complete honesty that I've never read anything quite like it before.
Besides being a rocker romance which is my absolute favorite kind to read,(and plenty here to love!), there is an underlying, crazy violent theme, things that are happening to some of the members of both touring bands and you can't predict who will be effected or what is going to happen next. So wild. These actions and who is setting them in motion will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat throughout the series.
Great characters all the way around (I had my special favorites, but will leave you to read and discover your own), tons of emotions, beautiful song lyrics to touch your heart and situations that make these stories unique and hard to put down. Sexy and steamy moments that you would expect from a story about rockstars and let me tell you straight up, C.M. Stunich does not shy away from these or the major drug use throughout these books either. The violence and darkness shows up quite frequently and always when you least expect it. This author lays it all out there for you so, if you are not of fan of any of these topics, keep moving 'cos she does not sugar coat any of it. I LOVED THESE BOOKS, can you tell????!!!
I know without a doubt, I'll be reading more from this author. I'm a fan now and I'm still thinking about the characters who felt so real to me, even a month after finishing the last book.
Well done, C.M. Stunich, what an imagination you have! I can't wait to see what else is up your sleeve!
TITLE: Hard Rock Roots Box Set GENRE: Contemporary Romance AUTHOR: C.M. Stunich TROPE: Enemies to Lovers, Rockstar, Suspense Romance TYPE: Series (Hard Rock Roots Books 1-5) POV: Dual POV MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5
Real Ugly (Book 1) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Turner Campbell can't stand Naomi Knox; he can't understand why she hates him so much and refuses to fall for his charms like other women. It frustrates him and attracts him to her all the more. Real Ugly is an edgy rockstar romance full of suspense, angst, sex, drugs and rock & roll. I did not want to put this book down; it ends on a big cliffhanger leading into the next book.
Get Bent (Book 2) ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 Naomi is missing, and Turner will do anything to find her even though the rest of the world thinks she is dead; he refuses to believe that can be true when he just found her. Now that he realizes he is in love with Naomi, he will do anything to keep her. There are a few suspenseful twists and another big cliffhanger leading up to book 3.
Tough Luck (Book 3) ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The storyline is centred around Ronnie & Lola, but we still see glimpses of all the other characters. Tough Luck moved a bit slower, but that may be because I was not as invested in Ronnie & Lola's story. It does pick up towards the end leading to another big cliffhanger.
Bad Day (Book 4) ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 The focus is on Naomi & Turner telling the story as Bad Day unfolds. Turner is still trying to win over Naomi while the bands deal with the threats surrounding Trey and Ronnie. I had a more challenging time getting into the storyline of Bad Day, even with more answers about the danger threatening the bands leading up to the tension-filled cliffhanger
Born Wrong (Book 5) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Born Wrong focuses on Dax and Sydney's story. Dax has been in love with Naomi for years, but unfortunately, she only sees him as a friend. In walks Sydney, Trey's stripper sister, and Dax feels an immediate attraction to her. I did not connect as much with this last book; I find there are a lot of inner thoughts of the characters before you get to the dialogue between them.
I didn't think I could or would enjoy a hard rock romance since I can't related. I'm not into or like rock music. Still I decided to give this box set a go. I have to admit that this was downright amazing. Even though I can't relate to the music Naomi and Turner drew me in completely. They were so raw and intense strangely I could connected to them. Which was so weird!! It was the mystery and intrigue seemed to keep me in a choke hold, especially because it kept growing bigger and bigger with each book. I already knew by then I was a goner I was completely hooked. If you thought that this was going to be your regular standard cutesy rock read than think again. Just when I thought I was figuring things out you were hit with something new and another secret was revealed. Definitely not for the faint-hearted or the prudish that's for sure.
2.5 stars. First time reading anything by this author. I wanted to give a higher rating. I liked her writing style. Raw and gritty, and the plot being completely different from any other rocker series... That being said, while I enjoyed some of the ride and the antics of these characters, there was no end in sight. 5 books that all ended abruptly on major cliffhangers is the reason I gave this only 2.5 stars. I need some kind of conclusion and there was none at all. I don’t know how many more books I’d have to read to get the full story, but I don’t think I have the energy for it. At least not right now.
If you're reading this review, you already know some books read slow, and some books read fast. This reads hard; it grabs you up and drags you in, until you're not you, you're them, and the only things that matter are figuring out what happens next and not losing yourself in the process. I had to take breaks from this book, so that I could re-orient myself and my surroundings, but I couldn't stay away long. The siren call of this book is just as potent as the music it references.
I can barely wait to dive into the next title, but had to say that Born Wrong was worth the lead up... Every title was wait. Turner and Naomi are outstanding, and their story is the thread that binds. The supporting cast though... Ronnie and Lola, and now Dax and Sydney, it doesn’t get any better than this!
Read the first two books in the box series. I think Book 3 moves on to a different couple and I just wasn't feeling it at the time and never went back and picked it back up.
Again, C.M. Stunich books are very hit-or-miss for me. This wasn't quite as far of a miss as some of hers, but it wasn't a hit.
I wasn’t sure if I wud like this series but as I got further & further into each book & more & more involved in each story the more I found myself enthralled. Great rockstar love story real life problems read. Sexy. Well written. A must read!
Turner F***ing Campbell is the guy of my dreams! I think I love him! Lol With its twisted Love Story and ups and down it was steamy, gritty and up close and personal view on each one of the characters and how human we all are! Nothing can be said on how good it is! Truly mindblowing!
This book has been hard going for me. It's taken me the course if about 8 months on and off to finish it. It was a great story but quite heavy. So had to keep putting it down reading something else then going back to it. I'm glad I managed to finish it though.
Really long and boring story with so many immature characters. It was really boring to the point that I skimmed most of the pages only to get to the ending. Big no no for me on this one
If you were a fan of this series this is perfect! Get all the sexy story in one place! I loved rereading this series!! I can't wait to read more by C.M. Stunich!!

I liked this series, well enough. There's a lot a liked, but also some I didn't. First of all, there's just too many characters. These 1st 5 books involve about 3 bands, aproximently 20 characters, including band members, management, bad guys, etc., it's just kind of an overload. Each book ends with a huge cliffhanger, especially book 5. There isn't any resolve in any of the books. I kept expecting one, anything, especially since the book set ends at 5, I was thinking it had to resolve at least one of the problems, but it just keeps getting bigger and drawn out more, on and on. Another thing that turned me off, and had me skimming a little, is the exaggerated stage scenes. I liked them in the beginning, but there's so many, and they just get to be too much. I get how the musicians lose themselves on stage, to the music, but it can just be said so many times, with so many references, before they become redundant. Now, you're thinking, why did I give it 4 stars if I disliked it so much?! Ha! I kind of wanted to rate it less, but, it's still very good. The writing is good, the characters are great, and the storyline is unique. I felt like since I'm still involved, intrigued even, in the story, then obviously I'm enjoying it. I am excited to see where this goes, how it ends. I just hope I don't have to wait 2 years to find out. A 9 book series is ridiculous, I think. I'm going to read book #6 & #7, because they're out, but I don't know if I'll still be interested by the time the others come along. I just don't have the patience for these ridiculously long series, unless they come out one right after the other and that doesn't seem like the case here. Just one last thing, I freaking love Naomi's character. I love how bad ass she is, I just hope she stops fighting her feelings SOON, because I am getting sick of that lol
I bought this box set for the 3 short stories and boy was it worth it . If you ever wanted to know about the night that Turner and Naomi hooked up when she was 16 and he knocked her up, well you're in for a treat because you get that little gem of a short story DIRTY CANDY CHERRY POPS. You also get the details of BJ that Lola gave Ronnie in the utility closet in HARD HOT BLOW UP. Lastly, there's Hayden Lee's story with POP ROCK ROOT B*TCH which gives us some insight on why she is the way she is. This box set is worth it for these three short stories alone.

I had read the books already so right now I'm just reviewing the short stories. I loved Dirty Candy Cherry Pop! It was refreshing to see a romantic, soft and naive Naomi. I really wished there was more to that story. I wanted to see how Turner felt when he realized he was gone from the hotel. Hard Hot Blow Up did nothing for me. I wished we could find out how Lola and the rest of Ice and Glass met Stephen/Tyler or something, but no. It's just a sex scene. Same applies to Pop Rock Root Bitch. I was hoping to see more of Hayden's past, figure out how she and Eric got together, but nope. I only found out that she loved Dax as much as she envied Naomi and hated herself. No surprise...
This was recommended to me by a friend and I duly bought it.
What a rollercoaster of a ride. I am emotionally ripped apart after the tour from hell with these bands, for whom the words sex, drugs and rock'n'roll were almost certainly invented. I am also totally hooked.
Bracing myself to download the next in the series, after a break to recover.
Not for the faint-hearted who think it's your standard cutesy rock stars story.
Naomi and Turner's love story is amazing but there are deadly consequences. Lots of secrets between the 2 bands. This book covers love, death, kidnapping, suspense, and cliffhanger ending. C.M.Stunich did fantastic job of writing this and it keeps you on the edge. A must read
Love the 3 short stories. Can't wait for the next book in the series. Love Turner and Namoi

I thought I'd be able to get into the writing style of this author but the incessant inner dialogue of the POV's became tedious. The story was intriguing but the characters just were not very likable.
