Looks like it's time to burn my house down. Bestselling author, Lexy Timms, brings you a firehouse romance so hot, it's sizzling! To Rebecca Taylor, her job had become simple. Sort of like lather, rinse, repeat. She travels throughout the country certifying fire station equipment. She’s a fully certified fire fighter, but her area of expertise is in testing out new equipment that will save lives. She lands up at Station 5 in Phoenix, AZ, the one place she’s been trying to avoid. She grew up just outside the city, along with the newly hired sexy lieutenant, Sam Evans. He was best friend’s with Becca’s brother, before he died in a random fire almost a decade earlier. Heat runs ramped in the city of Phoenix—desert sun, burning buildings, and the undeniable hot attraction between Becca and Sam. When the past begins to appear in familiar fire patterns, Becca is startled to realize there may be an arsonist in the city. Her brother, Corey’s death had been ruled an accident. Will she be able to prove it was murder before the arsonist comes looking for her? Firehouse Romance Series Caught in Flames Burning with Desire Craving the Heat As a courtesy, the author would like to inform you there this does end in a cliffhanger. It's a first book to a 3-part series.
Why can't you just write one book? It is aggravating to have to buy 2 - 3 books just to finish the story. It's a great story but if you are not in a wi-first area it is a turn off to the book and the author. I won't buy another 1st from her with out checking it out first.
Caught In Flames by Lexy Timms was an enjoyable read, right up to the cliff-hanger ending. I am so not a fan of cliff-hangers. I checked Amazon and didn't see the second book but noticed book 3 of the series and it's the continuation of this story. While I did enjoy this until I found out it was a cliff-hanger, I won't be buying any of her other books. I don't mind a series, I enjoy series where each book has an ending. What I don't like is serials where each book is a part of the same story and ends in cliff-hangers. If you don't mind cliff-hangers, then I recommend this book. If you have a dislike of them, I'd advise you to stay away from this one. Caught In Flames is book 1 of the Firehouse Romance Series.
This was not just a romance novel it did have a bit of that between Rebecca and Sam. Rebecca shows up in Phoenix Arizona to test some new fire equipment with the fire department. She runs into her brothers best friend Sam at the fire station. While she is there some arson is taking place and she is determined to find out who the arsonist is because it is tied to the death of her brother Corey. In the end she and Sam get themselves into trouble. This was actually a really good story and I plan to continue reading this series. I like the twist in the story about the arsonist and the fires. Rebecca seems really intelligent the only issue I had was it appeared that Rebecca at one point was drugged and no one seemed to figure that part out. I thought she should have went to the hospital to figure out what she was drugged with.
Rebecca is a badass firefighter who also tests out new equipment. Her brother died in a tragic fire 10 years prior and it still weighs on her. When she is put in the same area that his “accident” happened, weird things start happening. She starts to speculate that maybe the incident that took her brothers life was not an accident at all and the person responsible is now coming after her! With the help of her friend and lover, Sam, they start digging around. The only problem is the police are not on their side and it looks like they might get burned before figuring out all the pieces to the puzzle.

So Lexi Timms has done it again by writing about two people coming together but this time there's a mystery to be solved. Some of it relating to the death of Rebecca's brother ten years ago in a fire set at a cabin in the woods. She is getting help from a fellow firefighter named Sam who just happened to be the childhood best friend of her brother Corey. Things have gotten heated in the bed and Rebecca has her suspicion on who's setting the fires but the police only suspect firefighters and could care less about what firefighters think. The only thing I hate about Miss Timms books is the fact they end in cliffhangers and you always have to buy the other two to get to the conclusion of the story.
The firefighters may be hot guys, but I was really disappointed in the main female character. She's supposed to be a firefighter and an elite enough one that she tests new gear, yet she makes horrible decisions and always needs the guy to bail her out. Also, she keeps agreeing to see guys she doesn't like just to be nice which is encouraging their unwanted and at times creepy behaviour. Its unfortunate because I've enjoyed other books of hers before and had high hopes for this series.
I like how this story came together. It has some very HOT scenes, some heightened emotions, dramatic moments and teachable moments. I like short little reads but like them to be all in one. I don't like when authors add chapters of other books to get page counts, just write and sell the book described and put lists of your works in, but that's just my opinion. Cliffhangers are annoying. Read Feb 2021.
Caught in Flames by Lexy Timms is a story that kept me coming back for more . I enjoyed the characters and the story. I had to read all three books to find out what happens to Sam and Becca but that was ok as the story was engaging and written well.
Started out being a good book, but it didn’t end right for me. I wish it was a complete stand alone book. I was extremely disappointed this time with this author for that reason alone. I have no desire to keep purchasing sequels to see how this story ends.
This is just REALLY badly written. Many mistakes that a beta reader would have caught. The plot has a lot of holes in it. If I wasn't in dire straits for something to read, I never would have finished it.
Has a lot of danger,q,danger, twist and turns, and a little romance thrown in keeps you guessing what happens next hats off to this author looking forward to reading more books from her
Couldn’t be bothered to finish the book. Saw it has a cliffhanger, don’t do those. And to much advertisement in the books. So I read the reviews and it was enough to know don’t want to buy the other books, way to expensive for 3 books who should have been done in 1 book.
This is a good book. She came back home for a couple months for her job testing prototypes of new improved fire gear. He is a fireman who was also her brothers best friend. There is an arsonist/serial killer in town and he is setting more fires since she is back in town. The police don't want the help of fire department but they try to help anyway and end getting caught. The police think there is a fireman responsible and are starting to thing maybe it is her.
Gets you sucked in just enough that you need to buy the rest of the series to see what happens.
I liked the book a lot. It would have garnered all 5 stars if it hadn't had a cliffhanger. Just me, but if it's not a complete story, it doesn't deserve 5. That said, I always enjoy Lexy's writing and this one is no exception. The characters are likable and had good chemistry. Hot firefighters heat up the pages, the plot is believable and goes along smoothly. There are just a few grammar errors, but not enough to make it hard to read. I look forward to reading the rest of the story when I can.
I hate cliffhangers. Especially when the author gives you no warning whatsoever when purchasing that this is a freaking cliffhanger. Great story, great characters but it ends at 70% featuring excerpts from the authors' other works. Way to suck money from your fans for all you can honey. This is why authors like this will never be "real" authors.
I really do like the story but was disappointed to discover it was chopped into parts. This ploy is a turn off. I'm now hesitant to purchase future books by this author.
Very good story line with suspense. Have read this author's books before.. Didn't realize there was a cliffhanger. Not sure I would have read. Would like to read more of the story and finish it. Enough suspense to keep you Turing the page.
