About the author

Married at sixteen, a mother twice by seventeen, and thrice a mother and divorced by twenty-four, Adrienne Thompson is no stranger to adversity. Not your typical teenage mother, she went on to complete her college degree and to earn her nursing license. She attributes God's faithfulness as the catalyst for her success in life. Now, having raised three children as a divorced mother, she is sharing a long hidden talent and passion with the world. Using the lessons that life has so expertly taught her as a guideline (betrayal, abusive relationships, self-esteem issues, witnessing the deteriorating effects of drug abuse), she has created stories that will both entertain and inspire the reader.

Adrienne currently resides in Arkansas in her newly empty nest. Formerly an RN, she now writes and publishes her stories full time. She is also a motivational speaker.

This is the second book in the Latter Rain series and it's just as good as the first one. Only this time, the focus is on Rochelle who happens to be a single mother of a teenage son. After being abandoned by a California celebrity lover, she moves back to the slow life in Arkansas to raise her child. However, once she's engaged to a fine local man, her baby daddy finds his way to them. Rochelle has a difficult decision to make, but will she follow her head or her heart?

This is another grand slam from Adrienne Thompson. If you weren't a fan before, I'm sure you'll be one after reading this series.

It's some strong type of love that will make you go on a fifteen year sabbatical once it's lost. Could be love, pain or, who knows?

However, if you running from it, the wrong thing to do is stay at Hyacinth Manor, particularly Room 10, and not expect love to find you. Earth, Wind and Fire said it best: You can't hide love. You can run from it, but you won't win.

Ms. Chelly is a woman in love from her soul to her.... Well you ladies know what I'm talking g about. Fifteen years is a long time to wait on someone you mad at and in love with at the same time. Not moving on because love won't let you go and in your mind you saying no, but in your heart you YELLING YES.... TEO, YES! This book takes you on a journey about the heart the kings for her true love, she finds herself in room 10 looking to love the one she's with, because she's to angry to admit she loves the one she wants. This series is definitely a good read. Ms. Thompson you wrote this story well. On to book three in this series, can't wait to see who room 10 at Hyacinth Manor brings together.

The second book, No Pain, No Gain, in the Latter Rain Series proved to be a worth the wait. The story of Rochelle Warrior was totally solid. I loved all the characters in this story because they were believable. There is, however, something almost magical about the Hyacinth Manor, its owner Ms. Rosa, and the legendary Room Ten. I highly recommend this series, although this book can be read as a stand alone. As usual, the author scored big points with the sound track that accompanies this story of love lost and love regained. I was a bit surprised that Betty Wright's 'No Pain, No Gain, was not included in the eclectic play list. I can't wait for the next story; I know it's going to be just as gratifying as this one. Great story for all of the Contemporary Romance readers out there. I recommend it!

Rochelle and T

Rochelle was looking for husband for herself and a father for her son. T the father of her son had not been in her life for 15 yrs. Rochelle was bitter about him leaving her barefoot and pregnant all those yrs ago. She wanted nothing to do with him. Rochelle get engage to Vance and she plans to fall in love with him eventually. Rochelle son Justin wants to meet his father so T is back in the picture. He is still in love with Rochelle. Is it enough to take her from Vance? One click and find out. Great story!!

Home run

Adrienne keeps knocking it out of the park with this series. I loved Rochelle and Mateo's story. No pain, no gain is true in many facets of life. Can't wait to read Rosa's story.

Good Read

Like always, Adrienne Thompson is a charming storyteller. Her characters are always relatable. I was dead set against Teo until he sobbed in her hair. And my family is a pack of Judases is my favorite line. Hilarious! Very good read.
