Amethyria
Amethyria is a kingdom within a world like none you've ever seen.
Magick happens in this world. Not trick-magic where bunnies are pulled from hats. No. This is real MAGICK! And just like with so many other things in life, magick can be amazing and awe-inspiring, or cruel and terrifying. It all depends on the practitioners.
For centuries, the humans in Amethyria had no magickal abilities at all. They lived within this world peacefully, but not without concern. Those who are meek must always be wary. This proved to be true when a faction of the magickal people called Vedmakers became so greedy and violent that they banded together with others and threatened to annihilate humans completely. A war broke out then that lasted well over 100 years.
In a moment of desperation, when faced with losing everyone he loved, one man dared to look to The Heavens and beg for help. The Heavens saw fit to imbue this man, this human, with the greatest magickal abilities of all, presumably to bring balance back to the world. That person became a king and his abilities became known as Royal Magick.
When the king died his powers were passed on to his son, Idris. King Idris was a just and honorable man and he too was able to keep peace in the land. For many years the kingdom of Amethyria and the rest of its realm was prosperous and tranquil. Those creatures who chose to live beyond it's realm were left alone. All the world seemed to be in harmony once again.
But all good kings must come to an end and greed and avarice cannot be kept at bay once it has risen. The only way to be protected from it is to destroy it.
This book reveals the story of what happened when dark forces rose in Amethyria again. It is not for the faint of heart. Nor is it for those who insist that magick is not real. It is for those who want to experience wonder. . . those who want to be transported to someplace beyond their own imaginings . . . and for those who can look at evil unflinchingly and believe that in the end, what is good and pure and wonderful will prevail.
