This was a fantastic Science Fiction-Mystery-Thriller-Horror with a slight hint of Romance. It was exciting and full of action, a kind of storyline that I definitely wouldn’t want to be in, in real life. I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of the book.
Picture it, Alaska, cold, snow, college and zombies. This was my first snow scene with zombies and it definitely worked. Anyway, a hand full of college students that are good friends and some boyfriend and girlfriends, discover that they are the only students that hasn’t turned. The need to survive, to find if there are others like them and to just stay alive all revolved around them working together, their weapons and killing off the zombies.
There was many things that went wrong, yet many that they made it just by the skin of their teeth and that kept you turning those pages to see what happens next. The storyline was awesome, the characters were typical college kids, the scene was freezing and yet nobody felt the cold. There are a lot of unusual things that happen in the storyline, many surprises, many twists and turns and a whole lot of suspense.
If you love zombies, science fiction and a whole lot of action and mystery, then this book is for you. I look forward to reading the next two books in this series.

Shideler comes at a "post zombie apocalyptic alien invasion" from the many perspectives of his thoughtfully created characters. This allows the reader to fully invest in each character as you get to feel their emotions and see their thoughts as they fight for survival. Its a captivating way to tell a fast paced, high action story. If science fiction is your happy place, this book is for you.

This book caused me to be a very unproductive member of society for two days...
Original and thought provoking, "Only Human" takes the concept of zombies to a whole new level. The story rapidly accelerates from a few panicked college kids desperately trying to survive into epic tale of galactic proportion.
The characters are unique and engaging, the battles are vivid, and the monsters are horrifying.
I look forward to following the adventures of the survivors in the sequel.

This book was incredible. The author completely created an entire world with this series. He brings the story alive and makes you feel what the characters are feeling as the story progresses. I've read it twice since I received it, and I loved it both times.
