Rate this book
Everlie Harmon was brought up to be a trophy wife, but instead of settling down and starting a family like she was told—she let her love of ballet take her all the way to the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas. She teaches ballet to underprivileged children to pay the bills while auditioning relentlessly for her chance of having her name in the bright Vegas lights.

Despite her booked schedule, her roommate Tori convinces her to go out on a blind date, and Everlie finds herself tangled up with the irresistibly intense Navy SEAL, Ryker Knight.

After spending years ping-ponging around the world and leading the charge in special ops missions, Ryker is stateside and just when he starts itching for his heart pounding life in the battlefield, he meets Everlie. Her appearance in his life makes him question everything he ever thought he'd wanted.

Ryker's past catches up to him all too quickly, throwing Everlie into a complicated web of secrets and lies. Will Ryker be able to show her the truth and win her trust before it's too late? Or will Everlie decide the sexy SEAL’s secret life is too complex and throw it all away before they even get a chance to start?

Don't miss KB Winters and Evie Monroe’s hot and steamy military romance!

This series was included at the end of Dirty Liar.

Knight Moves Vol. 1

So even though this starts out in Ryker's POV, it is mostly told from Everlie's perspective. Which makes Ryker a little more mysterious.

Ryker is a Navy SEAL and is in Vegas with his friend and fellow SEAL Bennett. Through Bennett Ryker meets Everlie. But she is skittish and shy and unlike just about ever female Ryker has ever come in contact with. Every time he tries to make his move she bolts, or tries to anyway.

Everlie is an aspiring dancer. She is focused on her goal and not interested in distractions. Ryker wants Everlie, and he comes on strong. But she keeps pushing him away which makes him switch up his tactics.

At this point I'm not sure if Ryker has good intentions towards Everlie, he is very determined and he continues to pursue her, but it seems as though his end game is always about getting her to his hotel room. I LOVE that Everlie has the strength to say no. She isn't like so many other characters out there who just can't seem to help themselves once the Hero touches them. Nope, Everlie is a tough nut to crack. She has self respect and even though she is tempted she sticks to her guns. I am so happy to finally read about a heroine like that. A heroine who decides something and then follows through with her decisions. It's definitely made for a more interesting story.

The spoilers at the end of each review is a quick synopsis of the cliffhanger ending. Don't read it if you're interested in reading this series. I don't want to ruin it for you. But I know I will come back and try to remember the story later on down the road.

Knight Moves Vol. 2

Ryker has to win back Everlie after he messed up in the last book, and he comes back into her life in such a fantastic way. I really liked Ryker in this book. He was less of a ladykiller and more himself. He was real, and I loved the first night he spent with Everlie after he finally got her to talk to him again. They just spent time together talking and being real and I loved how he just seemed so thankful to be in her presence. He couldn't stop looking at her and eventually he couldn't stop touching her. It was just sweet.

But as usual, things don't stay perfect. It's obvious Ryker has some strange things going on with Bennett, whether its a mission or Bennett is just in trouble, but it raises some flags for Everlie to the point she can't just ignore it.

Knight Moves Vol. 3

So its not long before Ryker is right back on Everlie's doorstep begging for her to be with him. And really, that is what I loved most about this volume, you get to really see Ryker falling for her. You read from his POV quite it bit more in this volume and I really loved being in his head when he thought about Everlie. I love watching a playboy fall in love. But this is only the 3rd volume. So you know there will be trouble in paradise. Ugh this one gutted me. Each time they break up it gets harder and harder.

Knight Moves Vol. 4

Ok so there is a definite pattern that I'm ready to break in the next and last volume. Everlie and Ryker get closer and then they break up. They work it out and get closer and then they break up. But with ever subsequent break up it gets harder and harder because their feelings for each other are always stronger.

Ryker moves to his ranch in Oklahoma. And despite their blow up in his hotel in Vegas, Ryker and Everlie are still drawn to each other regardless of the physical distance between them. Tentatively Everlie starts to let Ryker back in even though she knows its not going to work out once she starts her show. But like I said, they can't seem to stay away from each other.

Knight Moves Vol. 5

In the conclusion of Knight Moves unfortunately Ryker and Everlie are mostly apart. But I guess it has to be that way to make you keep reading it. Tori is in FBI custody, Ryker comes back to Vegas to help in any way that he can and Everlie's dream of being on the big stage seems to be crumbling with every rehearsal.

The conclusion was satisfying, although I wish there was more to Ryker and Everlie's reunion. Whenever they finally get on the same page, their relationship seems effortless. They can't help but let themselves be together even when they don't think its going to work, so obviously when all obstacles are out of the way they fall right back into each other again with little to no prompting. I love that about them. But I just wish I could have basked in their happiness for a little longer after reading 10 chapters of them being apart and miserable.

Luckily I can read more... I just have to sign up for a newsletter I'm never going to read. Ugh.

Knight Moves Epilogue

This was exactly what I wanted at the end of the last volume. A little bit more of Ryker/Everlie bliss. It's set 3 months after they move to Oklahoma and Everlie is opening her dance studio. It was cute and short and refreshing to get a glimpse into their new normal.

FAVORITE QUOTE

This was at the opening of her new dance studio in the tiny town they lived in.

We got to the studio with five minutes to spare, but another wave of nerves took hold as I saw the small crowd formed outside my studio doors. "Oh my gosh..."

Ryker chuckled and set a hand on my thigh. "It's okay, Ev. This is the big event of the week around here. The town wants to show their support. Trust me, this is a good thing."

I twisted my fingers together in mylar. "I just don't know if my speech is good enough..."

"You wrote a speech?"

Book one
KB Winters and Evie Monroe you never cease to amaze me with the antics and characters that you come up with, and this book does not disappoint.

Ryker and Everlie are quite the twosome, Everlie is perfect for Ryker it is just going to take a lot of Ryker to convince her of it, as Everlie is not looking for love or a relationship in any way shape or form. Everlie has one love and that's ballet nothing else matter, she wants to make it to the top and have a lead instead of being in the ensemble. Ryker does all he can do to convince her, he wines, dines her, buys her a beautiful dress, diamond earrings, but is it enough.

I cannot wait to find out what happens between Ryker and Everlie, the cliff hanger ending to this book is killing me.

Book two
KB Winters and Evie Monroe, this series just gets better and better, and the characters that you have created for us are amazing.

Everlie has lived her whole life around ballet, no time for any thing else so it really takes a lot for her to let her walls down and let Ryker in, oh I love his name. But after she does it seems she has doubts at every turn, and does she honestly and truly trust him enough to build a relationship.

The suspense of this series is slowly eating away at me, I need to know who Ryker really is and will Everlie be able to get past all her suspicions and trust Ryker to have a real relationship?

Bring on book three

Book three

KB Winters and Evie Monroe, I am wondering how many nights you have sat up thinking about how to keep us in such suspense for so long. As I was reading and getting further along in the book I realized that this would not be the last book in the series and my heart is going to be left shattered for Ryker and Everlie.

So much is keeping Everlie and Ryker apart, the biggest being the lies and secrets that Ryker is keeping and when he does try and come clean with Everlie, it all adds up to her not believing him. But with her shot at being the lead prima ballerina in a show, would it have worked between them any way?

This book three leaves us with more questions than answers, and has me waiting with no patients for book four.

Book four

What an amazing book.

Everlie and Ryker have gone their separate ways, Everlie taking the lead ballerina and Ryker heading home to Oklahoma, they couldn't be further apart but together at the same time. Neither one of them has been able to stop thinking about the other. Spending time together via Skype, texting and phone calls, Everlie decides she is going to go spend a week with Ryker.

Spending a week together was a good thing for Ryker and Everlie, it makes them both realize what they want, but nothing good lasts forever and once again the trust that Everlie gives Ryker is put to the test.

Will Ryker and Everlie ever get things right and have the happily ever after they deserve? Cant wait for book five

Book five

OMG Book five could not have been any better.

In this book we see Everlie make some big decisions about what she wants in life, where she wants to work and what she wants to do with her life, and we watch as she deals with Bennett arresting her best friend.

Ryker comes to the rescue when he hears what has happened with Everlie's best friend, even though Everlie clearly does not want him there, but Ryker is clearly not over Everie and is going no where. We can all clearly see that Everlie is not over Ryker either, even though she cant seem to admit it to herself.

Will Ryker and Everlie have the happily ever after that they so deserve together, will Ryker be able to help Bennett to get Everlie's best friend out of the arms of the FBI??

So much going on in this final installment, loved every last page.

WOW! I'm so glad I had all 5 volumes at once, or I would have been beside myself waiting for the next one. Everlie Harmon was only expected to be a trophy wife, but instead she took her love for ballet with her to Las Vegas. Now she's teaching classes for underprivileged kids, and going to auditions hoping to realize her dream. When her roommate talks her into going out on a blind date, she meets Ryker Knight. He's a Navy Seal who has finally landing stateside. They share an instant connection, and she makes him want a different life. The problem is that Everlie is now caught in the crossfire of Ryker's past, and he has no choice but to keep her in the dark. In the midst of secrets and lies, will Everlie decide that Ryker's life is too complicated and walk away?

WOW WOW WOW! I stayed up late finishing this series, as I couldn't even attempt to go to sleep until I finished it. The character development is great, with awesome secondaries that I can only hope get their own story in the near future. The authors did an amazing job layering together twists and turns that kept my heart racing cover to cover, and the OMG moments suckered punched me on more than one occasion. I swear just as I thought I figured something out, BAM! I was taken in a completely different direction. Simmering chemistry EXPLODES into FIERY FLAMES of sexy scene goodness, and well placed humor had me laughing hard. This series is highly addictive, especially with all the push and pull moments of Ryker and Everlie's feelings that were almost frustrating. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I purchased Knight Moves Volume 1 - 5 - The Complete Collection: A Navy SEAL Romance as part of a larger anthology.

Knight Moves Volume 1 - 5 tells the story of Ryker Knight, ex-Navy SEAL turned government contractor and Everlie Harmon a ballerina dancer in Las Vegas from how they met to finally finding a way to a common dream and a happy ending. The story was full of action as a terrorist group was hunted down but Ryker could not tell Everlie that the hooker he keeps seeing is an undercover agent too as he lies to her to keep her out of the operation. She feels she can't trust him between some of the most romantic dates I have ever read in a story about two people very much in love with different dreams that just don't seem to come together for most of the story. It is a wonderful romance with great characters.

Just the right mix of humor and sensuality, Knight Moves was a great read. Can Ryker win his blind date over? Will Everlie give him everything? Tension runs high as secrets are uncovered. Will the pressure to be with Ryker change Ev's stance on what she wants. Will love be enough? Will Ryker stick around? A box-set filled with excitement!

Interesting storyline

Another military romance that doesn't really talk about them being in the Navy. More about what happens once you get out. I like how they all had their own dreams and loved how it all unfolded. I think Tyler would be a hot book boyfriend.
