Cord is the silent type, at least to the outside world he is. But beneath his stern exterior and remote ways beats the heart of a true Dom. Even when his brothers were pairing off with the new women in their lives, he knew that wasn't for him. There's no way he'd ever find a woman in the quaint little town willing to put up with his needs. And then she walked through the gates of his home and everything changed. Everything about her was wrong, she was too young, too inexperienced, but so beautiful she took his breath away. Everything he wanted but could, should, never have. Then she mouthed off at him and he said to hell with it; he was taking her at all cost. With the first words out of her mouth he was already plotting her complete and total domination.
Cord is the fifth installment in the Seal Team series. I really enjoyed the previous books in the series but this one was not up to my expectations and sadly it just didn't work for me. There was way too many POV and too many inner dialogue going on. Usually I like Jordan Silver’s alpha males but I didn’t like Cord at all. He was a jerk and the way he treated Susie was just mean. In my opinion it has nothing to do with love and nothing to do with a D/s relationship. That being said I will be reading the next book in the series because I really want to know about the whole conspiracy and I’m curious to see who are the bad guys.
I gave up at 50% This one was just BAD. Five thousand different POV's made it disjointed and tedious. Basically it was just everyone having sex with some sorry plot thrown in...
This gem made me laugh my ass off though..
"Loosening my cock, I let it hang down to my knee for some much needed relief"
Side Note: I REALLY wish authors that label their characters as "DOMS" would do some research on the lifestyle. Cord resembled a real DOM about as much as I resemble a 5´10 big breasted blonde. That's to say...NOT AT ALL!
I've read nearly even Jordan Silver book, but maybe I should have done a quick refresher before starting this.
The book starts of in the middle, the middle contains EVERYONE'S pov, and the ending is a cliffhanger.
Each chapter switches to a different character. Like, 140 different people are in it. I was waiting for the dang Forrest animals to start in...
Umm... Didn't this title say "Cord"?
It did, right?!?
Sadly, we only received maybe 20 minutes of their story.
*scratches head in confusion*
On the plus side: You can tell JS put more effort into the editing, Which didn't really bother me before, but it's just an FYI for the peeps who'd like to know
I was really so disappointed with this book. I have been waiting so long for Cord's book, but there wasn't really anything there between Cord and Gem (is that her real name? I know that's what Cord calls her). I like how all the other characters from other series of Jordan Silvers are in this series, but I keep getting confused with who's who and from what series. I do know Lyon (I love his series!) and Mancini (I'm hoping that Ms. Silver would write his next book already!). But now that everyone is in this series I feel that it takes away from the story of Cord and his mate and instead it is about the whole arc of the government conspiracy. I miss just the tales of the alpha-claiming-his-mate stories we so expect from a Jordan Silver book.
Basically we know in the previous books that Cord has already claimed this girl who is their former commander's daughter. In this book they are already together and nothing more seems to happen with their relationship except that she disobeys his command one time and he gets mad at her and punishes her (she may do a few small rebellious things and Cord spanks her, but this is, of course, to be expected). This is basically the whole of their relationship in this story and everything else is about this whole conspiracy of the government.
This is the second disappointing book in a row and it's taken me days to finish them when I usually breeze through at least 1-2 books a day. I think it's because I've been making up excuses for me to put these books down because they are a bit of a disappointment. I, of course, will continue to support Jordan Silver because I do like her writing style and her alpha males, but I'm just praying the next books she puts out will be better.
I love Jordan Silver books and have been waiting for Cord's story, for what seems like years! I like that the characters from her other books make an appearance, but I felt like sometimes it was too much. Cord's dominant ways were mentioned in the previous seal books so it came as no surprise. I guess the Dom/sub scenes were a bit more intense than I usually read and this kept me from enjoying the book as much as I usually do when it is Jordan Silver. I will definitely be reading more of Jordan's work as I have always enjoyed her in the past and look forward to any future books from her. I am hoping for another book on Mancini's Way, so fingers crossed!
Well I skimmed this book. I'm now done with the series. I feel like I've wasted my time.
Lots of background "drama" going on and it leaves the reader in the dark and lost. Too many other series also make an appearance. It's like book 5 is copy and paste different asshole oh I mean "alpha" men and whiny woman.
I enjoyed this book . Many people complained about many POV but that's because they're not realizing that many of JS novels all lead up to the new Squad series novel that involve all these players and one storyline.
So Cord is a bit extreme but it's also understandable bc he's a Dom which means not only in the bedroom it's his lifestyle. He was very forward with Susie about that which is why he was trying to train on mentally and physically before popping her cherry. But yet the girl didn't listen and pushed him and got punished. Great story.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Ok, this was not the book to start on in this series...I do plan on coming back to this but I was so confused and because I haven't read the other books in the series, I did not care about or for the chapters of other characters going on (although reading some other reviews that seems to be an issue even if you have read the others in the series).
If I read those other books, I will come back to this to see if it keeps my interest more but definitely shouldn't have just jumped into this series at book 5.
Oooh things are heating up for the SEALs. Cord and Susie are a totally different couple than the others (BDSM plays a huge part). Colton Lyon goes on a ride with Creed and Law. Mancini has his nose in everything. There are so many clues/hints tying together multiple series and characters as well as what is really going on. Great story-line and writing. I love all of these characters. Great story Jordan Silver!
Wonderfully written. Very fun. Pulls you into the story. I love books that get me going and pull me into the story. This book did that. I found my self laughing yelling and feeling actual emotion with this book. Love it love it love it. Only complaint is the spelling errors and word misuse. Still all around amazing book
This one takes you on a wild ride of action both in love,Dom Sub relationship as well as toe to toe planning warfare and death. Tjis book also has facination story of awesome children.
Very good and very good, I love the way that they stick together and protect each other!!! But I think that I'm not reading the books in the right order,.. Because the next book I already read... But I love Cord too even with his 14 inch Dick.,..... Yeah!!!!
I enjoyed reading this book so much! I couldn't put my kindle down! I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between the couple! Such a fantastic book!
This is my favourite book so far. This is more bdsm and his punishment didn't feel like the abuse the others gave to there girls. I hope more books are like this one .
Cord isn’t sure he will ever find what four of his SEAL brothers already have... because even though they are all take-charge, alpha males (times a thousand), he’s just a little bit more. Cord is a full on Dom, with a playroom, and he worries that finding someone who can handle his tastes is just a pipe dream. Then enters the daughter of their former captain - that they knew nothing about. Susie is young and inexperienced, but also feisty as heck. These two are so right for each other, but their personalities are going to take some work if they are going to build the kind of relationship that they both want. Can Susie give him the control he craves and can he give her up if not? BONUS - not only is this Cord and Susie’s love story, but it is also book five of Jordan’s SEAL series. You get updates on all of the SEAL couples, plus Lyon, Mancini, Law and Creed. There is also the drama that is woven through each story, as you find out more about the Fox, the captain and the rest of the players involved!
Ok what do I say about Cord. First let me say yes this story has a lot of crossover characters but I loved that. Yes there is different POV's BUT this book is longer then JS usually writes. So we still get Cord and Susie's story and it's about the same as all her other books. Now onto the book itself. Very very Jordan Silver. I think there should be a warning if you didn't like any of her other books then don't read and review this one. This book is HOT and full of alpha male. We have seen that Cord is strung tight and Susie is either going to loosen him up or pop his string. Susie has always had to take care of everything to include her little brother. Can she let go and let Cord take the lead or is she not ready? Read for these answers and more about who is behind the attacks on all the women. Now who is next?
This is the fifth book in the SEAL team Seven series. This series is about seven Navy SEALs who served together and now they all live in a gated community in the same town. When they were on active duty they made a pact that they would stay single but now that they are retired they are dropping like flies. Cord is the strong silent type and he also happens to be a Dominant. He thought he'd never settle down like his brothers because he didn't think he could find a woman that could handle his needs. Susie is a local from the small town they've moved to, her and her brother, Davey have been spending a lot of time at their compound. Cord wants Susie but he's reluctant because of her age and her innocence.
I am very disappointed in this book and have chosen to no longer read any more of Ms. Silver's books. While her editing has improved, it is still seriously lacking. This is a minor issue for me but still needs to be put out there.
This was supposed to be Cord and Susie's book. Everyone else, including characters from two other series, had a POV. There is an unclear connection about how these characters know each other. I have read one of the other series and tried to read the other one, but couldn't get past the first book. The bouncing back and forth between character's POV's is just too much and too confusing.
I also find that her work is repetitive and the same lines are written over and over. It is tedious and unneeded.
You've never met anyone like Cord. He's the master and expectations of his woman are incredibly high. He is in charge and will be obeyed unquestionably. Cord and his brothers are working overtime to find the source vying to kill them. Now their women are targets and he's not letting anything happen to them. Susie has found herself the object of Cord's world. From their first meeting he has claimed her. She is his. As the enemy gets closer, the Team is fighting harder to protect their own.
I love this series and love Jordan Silver's style. I can't wait for the next book.
I have been waiting and waiting for this book since Susie was introduced. Cord patiently waited for Susie to be ready to handle all the D/s aspect's that Cord wanted for their relationship and life. I loved that Jordan Silver expanded on so many other stories, it's really nice to catch up with Lyon, Law, and Creed. I'm holding out hope that after Seal Team is finished we'll get more Mancini too, I want to know what lovely, straight laced FBI agent thinks of his extra curricular activities that keep the world safe. Thanks Jordan Silver for another great book!
I really enjoyed this book and think she did a great job of setting cord's dom personality apart from the rest of the seals while still propelling the story forward. That was a great undertaking considering she was also tying in 2 other series of books. I'm really looking forward to the next story and hopefully getting more insight into Mancini's character. Im also curious as to whether it's going to be Devon or Quinn who ends up with his sister, because I know that's coming. They had to mention her for a reason.
As each book comes out we get more clues but still have no idea yet what is truly happening. The fact that this story is developing over a series, a serial, and several standalones is pure genius. I would love a day to delve into the mind of Jordan Silver. The way she writes her über alpha males that dominate but yet cherish their women, their headstrong women, but still gives us a deep storyline makes me admire her.
this is a continuation of the SEAL Team series by jordan silver. i'm addicted and will keep reading until the entire team has found their person. each member has their kink and cord may be the kinkiest of them all. cord's seduction of susie is an all consuming test of wills. while i understand why others had issues with this installment, because there were so many POVs, i still enjoyed every minute. and it led me to want to read a whole other series.
