Royal Protocol

Rate this book
Royal Protocol by Christine Flynn Accomplished Admiral Harrison Monteque deemed lady-in-waiting Gwendolyn Corbin an ice maiden. Until the two worked closely to search for a missing prince and her warmth began to melt his hard-edged heart. However, the eye-catching admiral feared that the tender beauty would want more than one night of passion. Raised to fight for his country and as the handsome head of the Royal Navy, Harrison had a protocol to follow -- don't get involved emotionally. But rules were made to be broken, and the strapping soldier slowly discovered that while he could lead an army into battle, Gwendolyn's grace and grandeur only made him want to surrender his soul to her. Award-winning author Christine Flynn was once told by a creative writing professor that she would save herself a lot of grief if she would limit her love of books to reading rather than attempting to write. Taking his words to heart, she dropped his class and wrote very little until fifteen years later when her husband gave her a Silhouette Romance which he'd received free with the gift-wrap of her mother's day present. She doesn't remember what he bought her (neither does her husband), but she remembers the book. As a person who had always found relationships fascinating, especially the often-complicated relationships between men and women, the writing she had always wanted to do had finally found its focus. Now considered "one of the genre's master storytellers" by Romantic Times Magazine, her work regularly appears on national best-seller lists, including USA Today and Waldenbooks.

When I first read the back of this book I thought it was going to be so good. What's that old saying? Don't judge a book by its cover. It's the same old story....Ice Princess (Gwendolyn Corbin) finds a man (Admiral Harrison Monteque) who can melt her. This book didn't keep me up all night. It didn't make me feel anything for the characters. Neededless to say I don't like to waste money so I reaed it anyhow. Considering this is part of a series I knew how it was going to end way ahead of time. I guess I expected more from this book then what I got. I'm disappointed it could have been so much more. While I found Admiral Monteque interesting...I didn't feel the sparks fly between him and Gwendolyn. The magic just wasn't there.
