Excellent book, nice character development, good mystery and suspense with a surprise ending. Young lady who swears off ever attaining marriage and develops her own career business (despite her exceedingly wealth family with whom she has conflict as they are too controlling -lol, maybe a bit far fetched - as they fawn all over her lazy twin brother, well, whatever, that was a minor part of the story) ends up sort of partnering with a long lost friend from childhood who has returned to town to clear his fathers name from criminal innuendos which will somehow potentially scandalize the wealthy family (ok, storyline a bit bizarre but curiosity kept me hooked). Anyway, the two of them eventually fall in love, then separate out of impulsive anger, then are brought together again due to other circumstances ..... and the true mystery is finally solved and everyone lives happily ever after!!!
A murder took place at a quaint and peaceful town. Seventeen years later the son to the said murderer came back in order to clear his father's reputation.
And I kept on guessing the real culprit. Not once, not twice and not on the third time I guessed right. Until there're a few pages left to finish the book and I still can't get it right. Full with plot twist!
As I enjoyed this book, I tried to find other books written by the same author but luck was not with me. Most of the books were written before 2000 and were not published anymore.
Guess I have to hunt them at libraries or used book store.
An interesting tale about two different characters growing up together both are very intelligent and good friends. Olivia Bennett and Quinn Leary are school friends and have grown up together on the same property. But Quinn is the son of the Gardner who has become a suspect in the murder of Olivia 's Cousin.
Loved the main characters in this story. It was a good, easy read that flowed and held my interest. This is my first book by this author but won't be my last.

"Keepsake" by Antoinette Stockenberg surprised me in so many ways. A story based in the small town of Keepsake, subject to all the elements of small-town living. Everyone knows everyone, and everybody's business as well. Couldn't really hide anything from others. Or could they? The story is filled with intrigue, mystery, romance, heartwarming people and criminals as well. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It's an old one, published in 1999. I will be on the look out for other books written by this author.
Keepsake is a easy read. I was looking for a book I could read before bed. Keepsake was perfect. Entertaining, with a good flow. It is set in a small town in New England, Quinn Leary returns after running away with his father 17 years earlier, when the town thought his father had murdered a high school girl. Quinn has a driven need, to clear his fathers name. He get more than he bargained for when his heart is swept away by Olivia Bennet, first cousin to the murdered girl.
I'm giving this 4 stars because I really liked the main characters, the story kept my interest, and I found the writing to be light and easy to read, for the most part. However, I did think that the story went on a little too long. The author probably felt the need to tie up loose ends and give the reader a sense of closure, but it seemed heavy-handed to me and totally unnecessary to add the epilogue. I'll definitely read more by this author.
I thoroughly enjoy Antoinette Stockenberg stories. They are romantic and take me to that teenage fantasy world of good men and strong women that I have long since realized is just fantasy. Nonetheless, it is lovely to get caught up in her stories and they always make me smile.
This was a good mystery and there is a romance which is a large part of the story but this is not a holiday story by any stretch of anyone's imagination.
First time I have read by this author but excellent book Lots of twists and turns and I didn't figure out who did it until almost the very end. When Quinn and his father left town, you knew all along they weren't guilty, but any of the other characters sounded guilty. A very good read.
This was a very very good book....... one of the better ones ive read in a while.... Love Antoinette Stockenberg... so far all her books have been good.
ReaD this for a book club....would probably not have selectedit on my own....It's an easy summer read not a bad mystery but a little cliche and cheesy if you like that.
Good book. Rather different surprising ending. Love to read about New England, so this fulfilled that need. Slowed down during the middle but the rest was good.
I read this months ago and I can bearly remember what it was about. It was a 99 cent download from Barnes and Noble and it was entertaining. What more can I ask?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and had a hard time putting it down. Romance and mystery hooked me. Don't let the date it was written stop you from reading it.
