A Question Of Trust

Rate this book
Saren Newcastle is a mature, totally independent journalist-she thinks. During a three-day interview assignment in the Kenai region of Alaska, she changes her heart and mind about her empty kind of independence. There, she encounters Gordon Sommers, a reclusive Englishman with a terrible secret in his past. The rustic Alaskan setting presents an array of difficulties for her, a native Texan and "city girl." Taken out of her comfort zone she realizes that she had been living with a false sense of security all along. Sommers' witnessing words and ways break through her wall of defensiveness. A series of mild mishaps teaches her to put her total trust in God rather than in her own knowledge. Finally, she discovers Sommers' secret and helps him to reconcile with his tragic past. Included in the back of the book are three recipes: Rubio's Enchiladas Verdes, Spinach Lasagna 101, and Sommers' Potato and Leek Soup.
