Christy is back at Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob's beach house at Christmastime, and she can't wait to see Todd, the surfer who captured her heart last summer. Why is it that Christy and her aunt are barely speaking? And why does it seems like all her friends are mad at her, too - including Todd? Figuring out relationships is more complex than Christy ever imagined, but she's not willing to give up on the people who really matter to her.

2024 Reread thoughts: Christy’s hormones are a bit of a wreck in this book and making her emotional at times, but, quite really, it’s relatable at this age especially. 😅 While she still has a lot of character development that needs to happen, she’s better in this book compared to her actions from the first book already. Todd can be frustrating at times for her—and me too, if we’re being fully honest—but those ending chapters and faith discussions are why so many fans of this series—myself included there too—love the guy. He’s one of a kind in his thoughts and actions.
If you’ve read the first book or even the first two books and you’re still not sure about this series or Christy—give it till this third book. This is the book I feel like you can really see the direction of where this series is going.
Communication is important in relationships. Why can't people just talk to each other? This book is about Christy and Todd. They like each other, but dance around the issue. It doesn't help that Todd is a total flake who basically just ignores Christy unless they're talking about the Lord. So annoying! I think we're supposed to believe Christy is over-reacting or being a brat, but really I think Todd needs to get his act together and start showing Christy some love.
Also, there's a lot of weird love triangles going around. Tracy likes Doug, Todd thinks Doug likes Christy, Christy thinks Doug likes her, blah blah blah. All of this would be easily solved in the first 5 chapters or so if people just TALKED TO EACH OTHER. Jeez.
I am NOT a Todd fan. He seems only slightly interested in being with Christy and I think she deserves better.
And don't even get me started on that scumbag Rick. He obviously wants Christy to be his little piece of tail on the side. Which is SO ridiculous because she's very innocent.
Yours Forever by Robin Jones Gunn is the third book in the Christy Miller series.
One thing I really enjoyed about this book was just getting to know Christy's family better (her parents and younger brother, David, not Uncle Bob and Aunt Marti who we have read TONS about already in the series). So far they have been pretty elusive, but this time they were really there and not just in the background telling Christy whether she could date or not.
I loved the heart-to-heart talk with Christy's mother. All I can say is Christy, do it more often!!! It REALLY helps!! Trust me. ;)
And even though the skating outing Christy went on with her friends kind of turned out to be a dud, I still enjoyed reading the interactions between the group. It made me smile and reminded me of my own group of friends. I think that's what I like so much about this series. Christy reminds me of me.
Christmas Vacation has arrived and Christy and her younger brother are off to spend the week with their Aunt Marti and Uncle Bob. Christy has high hopes for seeing Todd again but nothing seems to go as she thought. From shop-a-holic Marti giving unwanted opinions, jealousy games and an adorable yet annoying little brother, Christy is put to the test of patience and understanding.
One small thing in the series really jumped out at me was Aunt Marti. For the past couple books I thought she was a rich snob but this book gave me some insight that left me spinning. The depth of character she is suddenly given was overwhelming. Also the look into Todd's personal life. Which sad, I still want to know why he is so quite. Like Christy, he would have driven me mad here too!
I love all the real life drama Christy goes through. I think every teen girl has been in her shoes when it comes to dating dilemmas. And to those that haven't been there yet, it gives them a taste of what to expect. Communication is key in any relationship, as Christy is about to find out.
*sigh* That's really all I can do after reading this book. It's one of my favorite of the whole series. :) We didn't get to meet any new characters. Rick was there (and he's starting to get annoying), and Katie was there, but only for a short while. Christy's family was there, and I got to see how much they have changed. Aunt Marti is still very annoying and controlling, but after learning about Johanna I feel sort of bad for her. Bob is great. And then there was Tracy and Doug. They were so perfect. Of course, we shall never forget Todd. Todd=Perfection He's such a God-fearer and I can tell how much he likes Christy. He can be a little clueless, though. Christy has grown in her understanding. She's closer to Christ now, and she also has her own spine. I like this book because you're realistic. Even though Christy is a Christian, her life isn't perfect. In fact, in this one things get really messed up! But I love how it's about how God gives us second chances. :) I shall not forget about the kiss. I love that Todd gave her the Forever bracelet. It was so SWEET!!!

In this book Christy and her family spend Christmas at Marti and Bob's and then Christy and her brother stay with them through New Year's.
Todd and Christy have a picnic on the beach and then later in the week she gets together with the group, though neither occasion goes how Christy was hoping.
The ending was sweet, Looking forward to the next book.
Re-reading through this series as an adult is just as good as the first time, but maybe better in some ways. As Christy learns not to worry about things that tend to work themselves out, I’m reminded of the same.
oh my heart. i love these characters so much. i love reading anything about them, but i’m so excited to get to the college years and get past this series and the relationship confusions Christy goes through. i don’t want to be super repetitive in these reviews, but the things Christy is learning about God are things that i’ve known for so long now, but have been the perfect reminders to where i am right now. i needed to read these books at this point in my life and i’m so glad God put it on my heart as i started preparing for the new year.
Yours Forever was great! We got to see Todd again and the rest of the group. I felt like communication problems Christy had with him were realistic. I am curious about the aunt's complete story as I believe there is more to it and I can't remember it.
The ending was sweet and I loved the bracelet Todd gave Christy. 💕 Such a sweet meaning - forever friends.

And the bar has been set for my tween's first boyfriend. 😍😍😍 Glad to be sharing these titles with her. Sure will be nice when I can simply state "...XYZ is nice, but he's no Todd..." when she starts bringing dates home. Direct, to the point, and she'll know exactly what I mean.
This is an incredible set of books. Because I read them all in a set they all meld into one book in my mind. As inspiring Christian fiction this would be at the top of my list, just under Erynn Mangum's books. Let's just say that I learned some much needed lessons from a these books. Despite the fact that the main character Christy is 15 years-old I could still relate to the issues she struggled with. The lessons she learned were very good, and there was a lot of Bible content involved in Christy's growth. I also really enjoyed the analogies Robin Jones Gunn came up with to describe hard to grasp aspects of salvation. These analogies were so clear and applicable that I will probably use them in the future. Just a side note, the character Todd is a great guy. Honestly, he is the character I like the most, and he is a wonderful Christian example.
The only critique I have with these books has to do with Christy. Now most of her problems are quite relatable in the normal sense I'm sure, but her "romantic" struggles are a little ridiculous to me. Of course I am also a little old for these books, so that could have something to do with it. There really isn't anything that Christy does that is wrong, I just keep questioning why Christy is pretending to like this one guy when she obviously likes the other. Other than that, I completely recommend these books to any teenage girl, whether you are Christian or not. These books are moving and eyeopening.
All I know is I wish I read these books when I was younger and didn't know where to find any clean books. These are VERY worth reading books. I give these three books that I have read so far a solid 4 stars. I completely recommend this series. I am totally hooked, and excitedly waiting to read the next book I can find.
I realised WHY these books now stress me out/make me feel icky: because the constant whiplash of middle school insecurity and emotion with church stuff vs. life stuff is all too realistic!!! It gives me residual stress from that time period of my life. Also? Todd plays a good game....he doesn't communicate well, he sends mixed signals, but then he's magically a hero because he schools adults in matters of faith? Ehhh. ALSO, Christy isn't allowed to date till she's 16 but boy, her family sets up a romantic evening with dinner in a LBD while he's in a tux, and sends them off on a date on New Year's Eve?? Ergh. No wonder she struggles with making sense of things when her life is so easily inconsistent from her parents.

જ⁀➴ a perfect reread i must say! this world is so comforting to me, and the message in this one of listening to God and actually talking to Him was what i needed to hear ♡♡ ALSO TODD!! i love him. where is my blond surfer boy who gives me white carnations and a bracelet that says forever on it??
"You're in my heart," he continued. "You're my friend. I honestly don't know where we go from here, but I'm not worried. God knows. All I know is we're going to spend eternity together with Him. This bracelet is my way of saying, 'Here's my friendship. I promise it to you. It's yours forever.'"
I absolutely LOVED this book. This is definitely the best one so far. This was the most relatable out of all of the books too. I especially loved the Scripture in this book. The way that the characters (particularly Todd) use the Bible to help them in their situations is very encouraging to me. I also really enjoyed the last chapter with Todd and Christy. Can't wait to see where Christy and Todd's relationship goes next!
This book is amazing. There's simply no other word for it. I was going through a particularly bad part of my life when I read it, and it really helped me come back to God and realize that He is so much bigger than the hypothetical boogie-men in our lives. The only thing I have to say about this book is: Read it. You'll be hooked on the characters, forever.
Hey guys, Todd is a JERK. Is this supposed to be attractive to the Christian teen girls of the world? He is a flake and a loser.
In this book, Christy got, along with a sweater and things I forget, "A CD Player and an iPod" for Christmas. Someone updated the book for the 21st century... sort of.
Robin Jones has talent, the first book in the Christi Miller series was fabulous! Or should I say..... faboooo!! But this one? Hmmm, not so good.
Let me start by talking about Todd!! There were many times in this book when I wanted to slap Todd, stomp on the floor and scream at the top of my lungs: "Can't you treat Christy better than that!? What the heck is wrong with you!? SHAME ON YOU!" There were so many times when I just had to put the book down and take a few deep breaths, not to mention the times I was already having symptoms of low blood sugar! The comments down below talk about how perfect he was, but I don't think he was at all. He said a lot of good Christian things, he had morals, he was very respectful towards Christi's parents, he was nice to her brother but other than that I didn't like him! Instead of talking things through with Christi he would act all mad because Doug was treating her with DIGNITY and Todd decides to ignore Christi and treat her like trash!
And what's a good man gotta do? Show respect and gentility in all situations!
Christi was immature in some ways but she wasn't a spoiled brat! She went through a lot of things in this book! With Rick trying to take away her innocence by trying to push their friendship to a different level; Todd acting like a jerk; Tracy taking it out on her because Doug is showing her some favor and Christi is just showing kindness to him without being flirty; her aunt trying to run the whole show and lastly, her parents were absent for 80% of the book! I don't know about you, but that would be really hard for me to bear. Christi is just very emotional and fragile and her heart is too precious to be played with! The idea of having a Christian teen-romance is very good, but did you really have to put a love triangle where Romeo likes Bella but she prefers Edward and then Juliet gets all jealous and takes it out on Bella instead of confronting Romeo, blah, blah blah.... Honestly, this book stressed me out! All the turmoil that Christy goes through not to mention her overthinker's nature to examine everything someone does and says. I am sorry, but I cannot recommend this book for people who have psychological problems, this would definitely give them a psychotic break! (Okay, I'm exaggerating!)
I still want to read more books from Robin Jones Gunn, because I am aware of how talented she is, just because one of her books is "bad" it doesn't mean that they all are!

I literally cannot believe that as a 30 year old adult pregnant with her second child that I am reading these.
After listening to a podcast that raved about how these books changed her relationship with Jesus during high school, I decided to take a break and enjoy some lighter reading.
I almost gave up with the first one. They reminded me too much of what passes as 'christian' romance novels. My annoyance with that topic is reserved for an entirely different modality.
However as the books have progressed I've found myself encouraged by the journey of the main characters faith. Regularly she prays over the simple worries of teenage life. Its simple and heartfelt.
And one day I found myself too praying simple prayers directed at my a heavenly Father. I hadn't prayed like that for years. So simple. It was refreshing like nothing I've felt in a long time.
Are they perfect books? No, but I've enjoyed the progression of simple faith.
Christmas break is not going at all like Christy thought it would be. She's happy to be back at Newport Beach and is exciting at seeing her beach friends (including Todd). But with her little brother having to tag along and taking up Todd's attention, Christy's frustration grows. During a group outing to go skating, Christy ends up spending time with Doug instead of Todd, further complicating things. Where exactly do Christy and Todd stand with each other now?
This book, unlike the second one, deals with the aspect of Christy and Todd's relationship (or lack thereof). It was nice to see the characters introduced in the first book appear again, such as Doug and Tracy. Different aspects of friendship were also explored in this book as well.
Cute novel! Love the Christian themes, and Christy trying to understand her family.
Other than my quibbles with Todd, however, I love all the other characters! Tracy is THE BEST! So sweet and understanding and caring--I really want her as a friend in my real life! ;) And fun loving Heather; sweet Dough; struggling Allissa...they're all a delight! :) Fun book! I definitely recommend it to tween/teen girls who want a fun, lighthearted read with a Christian perspective!
