A dark secret. A dead cop. And a man too close to both.
To avenge his brother's death, John Sarikov, a New York City journalist, follows a trail of evil deep into the underworld in a no-holds-barred battle that makes the Cold War seem warm and friendly.
Clue after clue points inexplicably to the distant the Holocaust and World War II. John believes he is stumbling in the dark, but others fear he is stumbling toward the truth.
Stalked by killers and on the run from the police, John is soon snarled in a tangled web of espionage and murder. Behind the scenes a power struggle rages within the inner sanctums of the Kremlin and the Russian mafia; its outcome could determine whether John lives or dies.

On occasion this story would get a little too real for me and I'd have to stop reading for a spell. Overall a very exciting and compelling story as I expect from the author.
