Caden thought it was over; she thought Gabriel was gone for good. It only took a letter with a single plane ticket for reality to come crashing back. Gabriel’s awake and he needs her. Caden decides to sacrifice her family’s trust for the possibility of seeing him again.
But her reunion with Gabriel is short lived. Gabriel isn’t in control anymore, Tom is.
Tom, the boy who only appeared at night, now thrives during the day and controls everything, leaving Gabriel with only a few hours in the dead of night to sort out his life.
As Caden struggles to balance helping Gabriel, keeping her mother happy, and pursuing her passion for cooking, she must decide if saving Gabriel is worth losing herself in the process.
The hunger is encompassing, so she feeds the beast books. But the hunger never settles... so she writes. E.V. Fairfall has an itch that drives her to the world of story telling. With several published short stories, and soon several books (fingers crossed), she explores the topics of humanity and hardship.
During the daylight hours, a book is always within reach. She spends her nights reading with her husband, surrounded by towers of tomes and three furry children curled in close. If she isn’t reading, she is browsing bookstores or hiking, but always awaiting her next adventure.
Okay, so I have a split thought on this book. On one hand, I really, really liked it. But the fact that it ends on a cliffhanger and it seems there will never be a sequel available has me wishing I never started. It is my biggest problem with series books. A title and everyone was given for book 3 but the author has gone quiet. The link to "buy" the book is dead, the author's website gone, mailing list non-existent now. So guessing, after these years there will never be a book three. Utterly maddening!! Even worse because EVERYTHING is unresolved! There are more open mysteries than after the first book! Now the story itself gripped me. I feel the subject matter is one rarely touched on in books, and I feel it was nicely done here. Although Caden still makes some crazy choices, like leaving the state for a weekend without telling her parents. Then comes home and thinks consequences shouldn't happen. Bit of a brat in this one.Yet the depths of where this may be going for Gabriel is sweet. Not many could put of with what she does. If I ever hear of the 3rd book being available, I will up this rating. until then, I almost want to go lower. If I had known, I wouldn't have read this so I sort of feel my time was wasted, but the writing is good. Ugh! The dilemma!
I finished this book is 24 hours. Seriously, I couldn't put it down. Mid-way through this book I did feel like a complete ass for being all #teamgabriel after the first book, given how they are all HIM. But in my defense, I didn't know. I loved everything about this...the trips, her confidence, her relationship with her dad, his ability to cope or not to cope, the health-related information. You can tell the author put a lot of time and research into this one and the ending is INTENSE. I also love all the times she connects with Gabriel/Tom and their interactions. So freaking adorable. Can't wait for Book 3!!
I was so excited to read this book after the way Sleeping Tom left off, and I was not disappointed. Waking Gabriel is an amazing book! This book really went into a lot more about Gabriel's personalities and I feel like Caden really grew a lot through the novel. The writing was awesome just like book 1 and the story was very captivating the whole way through. Now I have to wait for book 3!!!??? I want it now!!
First off i just wanna say...THOSE CAPTAIN AMERICA SLIPPERS!! Oh my goodness this book was just amazing, i completely read it in one sitting and just could not put it down. The flow of the book was phenomenal and the character development from the first book to this was just fantastic. The only reason it was given a 4 of 5 Stars (if it was an option it would have been a 4.75) was because of the ending. The momentum built up throughout the book only to end as it did was slightly disappointing..BUT I need to know how it ends and what will happen between Caden and Gabriel. Cant wait for the 3rd and final installment "Rebecca's Redemption".
An amazing sequel, that dived more into the split personalities which I loved. I loved learning more about this disorder, even though this is a fictional story it was written very well. And the romance is just so well written!
While this was fast paced with decent writing I just did not really care about the story and the finale felt pretty lackluster to me? That aside I am glad I finally finished this duology!
I loved this even more than the first one. I love the complex personalities of Gabriel. I love the connection between them and Caden, beautiful story. I want the next one right now!!
I've been looking forward to this book since I finished the first and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed!!! All of the characters that I got to know in the first book were included and also had grown up a little. Not going to spoil anything but there were a couple surprises in this book that I was not expecting (especially the ending). I loved the writing through out the book and how there were Day/Night breaks in it. It made keeping up with everyone easy. I can't wait till the 3rd book and continue the story with Caden and Gabriel.
But at the same time I want to shout a million and one words.
I thought the ending of the 1st book left me on edge.
This ending has me falling off the cliff into the depths of despair. Anne of Green Gables
But what can I do about it?! I need to know what happens! E.V. please, please publish the next book soon! I don't know if I can handle the suspense, anxiety or my impatience!
Such a satisfying direction for this sequel to go! I loved getting to explore Gabriel’s background, his therapy sessions and more about Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Face was awesome again. What an amazing guy… though I think Gabriel is catching up with him as far as book boyfriends!
Read it! Loved it! OMG!!!! Okay so I wanted more of the disorder, I wanted to find out more about Gabriel and his past and I'm happy with what I got. I'm also super happy to see Caden's growth and the support she got from her dad. I'm so excited for the next book!
