Fifty of the world's leading conservationists answer the question: How I Stay Inspired despite all the negative issues facing the world's wildlife and wild places today.
How do you stay inspired? This simple question Lori Robinson asked is one many of us have probably asked ourselves. The answers given in this book are as diverse as the conservationists interviewed. This is a well-organized book, and I appreciated the summary of each conservationist's work. Besides learning the source of motivation for these leaders in wildlife preservation, this book is a great overview of the state of conservation work. Read and be inspired!
An interesting structure with conservationists from around the world. Each person has a very brief bio and then responds to the prompt, “How I stay Inspired”. There is a lot of variety in conservationists, their focus and naturally how they stay inspired.
Some of these folks are icons of the movement, others were new to me. My strongest takeaway is that people consistently talk about finding ways to connect to the earth in their lives as well as being actively involved in some project(s) working directly to save wild places, plants, animals and human communities. This in turn has helped me think about and continue my own practices to do the same.
An incredibly inspiring and informative book from 50 of the world's leading conservationists. Read my full review here: http://www.mygreenworld.org/saving-wild/
