He loves her and she loves him, but love isn’t a shield.

Sometimes your only choice is the one you’d rather not make. Pushed to the limit, the tainted love of Logan and Elle is in jeopardy. This picks up right where book 1 ended and jumps right in with an answer the damn cliffy! Phew! Although, the cryptic message is solved rather quickly, in terms of "who", Elle and Logan's journey is nowhere near over.

 photo image.jpg1_zpsmsimkheu.jpg

This was a quick and fast paced read. I enjoyed the intensity and connection between Elle and Logan. While it was insta-love in book 1, I felt they grew more in this one. Although it took a bit in the beginning with Logan trying to stay away from Elle to keep her safe. Seriously? Wouldn't she be safer with you there to protect her?

Some of this was predictable but still intriguing and suspenseful at times. If you're looking for an Irish mob story with romance, danger and intrigue, this has all of that.

Remember what happened in Book #1???

If not, check out our ► review ◄ maybe it will help ☺

DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW OF #CRUSH IF YOU HAVEN'T READ #BLOW

Okidoki - everything could've been all happy endish at the end of book #1 - all those mafia guys, like Tommy's Dad had just been arrested and they were hopeful that the cops would get Tommy too.
But then a note was delivered to Logan & Elle's hotel room.
A threat from Tommy against Elle's life.
And now Logan's only mission in life is to stop Tommy from hurting Elle.

Even if it means leaving her to keep her safe.

...if he didn't succeed in finding and stopping Tommy, he was going to leave me in order to save me. And crush my heart.

But Elle won't give up that easily.

WHAT WiLL HAPPEN TO ELLE & LOGAN???
WiLL EVERYBODY SURViVE THE BOOK?
WiLL THERE BE Another CLiFFHANGER???

I REALLY LOVED THiS BOOK!

FINALLY!!!
Logan is back!
I was so looking forward to seeing how their story would end.
And I loved CRUSH.
It was such a suspensy read - with lots of sexiness, teary moments and very exciting moments.
I couldn't put it down.

I wanted Elle to get her HEA with Logan ...
but they have a LOT to do and to go through to make sure nobody (aka Mafia/Mob) has reason to hurt them in the future.

CRUSH was a really sexy & suspensy & touching Romance! You won't be able to put it down - you just HAVE to know if there will be a Happy Ever After for Logan & Elle!!!

PS - it took me a while - but I finally realized that we met Logan before - in Toxic ☺ I went back and read his scenes!

GAH!! Pulse pounding action, delicious angst, protective alpha heroes, push and pull, secrets, spills , thrills and WTFs! Kim Karr brought it in the final instalment of The Tainted Love Duet.

You’ll want to keep your wits about you while reading this book. Seemingly inconsequential titbits are woven into this action packed and complex story and it will keep you guessing until the very end.

You’ll want to clear your schedule because with so much action at every turn you won’t be able to put this book down. This story is fast paced with so much happening around them and the dangerous elements keep you in nail-biting, edge-of-your-seat suspense.

You’ll want to keep the tissues handy. These characters are so fallible, likeable and their connection written with such intensity you can’t but help root for them and when the best of intentions pull them apart, and through everything they need to get through, you’re either going to shed a tear or yell at your e-reader.

You’ll want to keep the batteries handy. Logan and Elle burn off the pages. Often, for me, when two characters find each other the sizzle stops, but Kim Karr somehow kept it all so intense and angsty that every time felt like the first time.

All in all I felt like this was the perfect conclusion to the series. It tied up every question neatly but still kept me in suspense right up until the end.

A brilliantly captivating romantic suspense that has the prowess to blow our mind and crush our hearts. In this fast paced addicting read, Kim Karr has lured her readers as she intricately interweaves a complicated and explosive love story in the backdrops of danger, fourberie, deceit, and a complicated twist of fates. As the lives of Logan and Elle collide, can their passion and love unite and save them from revenge, hate, betrayal and lies?

#Crush_kimKarr

In this sexy, intriguing tale Kim Karr takes her readers further down the rabbit hole as Logan and Elle are buried deep with mystery, lies, secrets, death, danger, and passion are all beautifully entangled in a sophisticated and sexy romantic suspense. As their lives collided with passion, lust, and love, Logan and Elle knew danger was sure to follow. Will Logan be able to stop the crushing force of danger that threatens the safety of Elle? Or will their undying love for each other be enough to blow away the danger? Or will it blow the danger right to them and crush their hearts?

In true Kim Karr signature, she brilliantly weaves and douses readers with the elements of suspense, romance, and fourberie into one heart-stopping, tangible and palpable tale that will have you blown away and crushed with the raw beauty of Logan and Elle's love for one another. As always, Kim Karr writes a story filled with intrigued, passion, and suspense as readers unravel layers of layers of secrets. Kim Karr brilliantly douses CRUSH with raw emotions. Every hurt, pain, loss, heartache, passion, and love puts readers in a hypnotic trance. Your heart will be crushed as Ms. Karr pulls and tugs all those heartstrings as she explains a tainted love. When a love story started out with tainted with secrets and lies, can it be untainted with love and passion? Is love really enough? The only way to find out is to read this epic conclusion of The Tainted Love Duet Series. And trust me, Kim Karr crushed this book as she blew me away with her gorgeous prose, raw characters, and amazing tale of love and suspense. The only question left is are you ready to get CRUSH?

When I read book one, I was slightly torn in my review and ratings, finally settling on 3-3 1/2 stars. But, this book I am absolutely sure deserves a big fat goose egg -- 0 stars!

Book One

On one hand, the author created interesting characters and set them in a suspenseful plot. On the other, the author was EXTREMELY repetitive in telling readers about descriptions and character thoughts, and the middle of the book just stalled and spun in a mud puddle for a long time until the end offered a partial resolution and a cliffhanger.

The suspense was good enough that I recommend the book and set out to read book two, even though I somewhat feared from the cliffhanger that I would be opening...

description

I Shouldn't Have Wasted My Time Because This Isn't A Book!!!!

There are books that you dislike the plot course... The characters... The history.. The character actions or other subjective factors that can be left up to each reader's personal tastes. Then, there are books like this that can barely be fundamentally called a book!

Here's why:

1.
description

LARGE portions of this book is NOTHING but rehashing, often times in italic verbatim what was said, thought, or happened in BOOK ONE.

description

2.

description

When the suspense plot points did make an appearance, each was convoluted with non-issues, overly-dramatized issues, & nonsensical issues that it became an absolute joke. Several chickens running around headless would be more put together than this shit.

Take this for example..

Code and panic room discussion turns into a old mob story from 19?? by a barkeep, which spurs the MC to have a childhood flashback to a grandpa discussion on 'Helen of Troy' women, which leads them all to suspect someone they've all should've suspected from the get go, which leads to the female MC coming clean about a proposition made to her by the suspected mfer, which leads to an argument, which leads to make-up sex that may be the last because she may take up the mfer's proposition for her niece's well-being. It's all too much sugar for a dime shit that's so muddled and goes round and round and round before finally making some point that's mostly BS or self-explanatory anyway.

description

This is serious mob, life and death shit here, people. No laughing allowed!

3.

description

description

description

When the characters aren't

description

.... For 15 or 20 page increments once a chapter, or

description

Over and over again, or playing...

description

To get to a fucking point, then they're crying and/or having nervous breakdowns.

description

These three things does NOT a Book make!!!

Lest I Leave You With The Subjective

Of course, there are also other entirely subjective things not to like.

The female MC's reaction to her toddling niece always calling her mommy really made me go ewww. She's not the kid's mom. She cries over her estranged sister, but doesn't have enough respect not to remind the child that HER SISTER IS THE KID's MOM?!?

description

There's also the secondary characters that make no sense whatsoever. Suddenly a former enemy and some stranger barely mentioned in book one are like the male MC's own personal goon squad? Wtf?!?

description

The grandpa, who's old as hell in a nursing home, needs to offer up his death to free his "indentured servant" son from a mob boss that's in prison?

description

Law officials just pick mfer's up and hold them for DAYS with no phone calls and then say 'oops, here, let me ball up this evidence' and you can be on your way to play Clue - it was Scarlet with the rope in the study.

description

Anyway, I've wasted enough time in this book . You know it's bad when you DNF book two of a duo @68%. Nuff said-~

Title: Crush
Author: Kim Karr
Release Date: November 16, 2015
Cliffhanger: No

I loved Blow, but Crush was perfection. This sizzling hot sequel to Blow exceeded my expectations. Crush picked up where Blow left off without missing a beat. I loved all of the twists and turns that Kim skillfully embedded into this multilayered mafia suspense thriller. Crush had a few nail biting moments and enough steam to fog up my Kindle screen. What a great two-book story and a solid ending. Worth one-clicking!

After Blow left us reeling with the delivered threat to Elle, Crush starts off at a fast pace with Logan's dilemma of how he can keep Elle safe from Tommy and her brother in law Michael. A lot is at stake with Elle scared that Michael will stop her seeing her niece Clementine.
Where is Lizzie Elle's sister, how deep is she in with the drug dealers and what is her relationship with Logan's cousin Tommy?

Lots of questions are answered in this book and it was so good to see the love and passion that Logan had for his Elle. I thought Blow was a highly thrilling intense read but Crush had my heart pounding and I had to take deep breaths towards the end as it came to a thrilling climax and I'm not just talking about the sex scenes.

Loved the epilogue and I would highly recommend Blow and Crush, two outstanding suspenseful romantic books. Great pacing and well written by Kim Karr.

CRUSH had me all over the place, trying to figure out just who was involved with the drug ring and if that was the same person out for Logan and Elle. I wasn't sure who had done what until the very end, but it was an exciting journey that ended in Logan and Elle grasping for that happily ever after and holding onto it. Full review to come.

4 – 4.5 Stars

The saga continues to unravel in Kim Karr’s Tainted Love Series finale, Crush.

I could not wait to get my hands on this sequel and glad when it quickly picked up, right where I was left dangling by my fingertips, over a cliff in Blow. Tensions escalated and ran sky high as Logan and Elle’s love and relationship strengthened despite unknown forces and past enemies working in a concerted effort to rip them apart.

There’s some push and pull drama at first as Logan struggles with his fears over imminent threats against his Elle. Nevertheless, his desires and the overwhelming need to safeguard her could no long be denied. I loved his determination and over-protective Alpha tendencies when it came to Elle’s safety. He claims all of her; works tirelessly to shield her from harm as no one, not the mob or the feds, will stand in their way. Logan was the perfectly sexy, dominating hero.

Karr always delivers sizzling romances coupled with extreme angst and mysteries layered within its plot. I’m always on edge, fully engrossed, as the tension she builds skyrockets. In Crush, the web of secrets and dangers that surround this couple held me captivated as my nerves were frazzled, trying to piece together clues peppered throughout this fast paced story. And as I tried to pay close attention to the tiniest of details, surprise plot twists had me gasping. Always expect the unexpected when savoring this author’s tales.

Crush had it all – murders, mysteries, mayhem…the mobster element (which gave me a ‘Soprano’s’ meets ‘The Departed’ vibe), nail-biting drama and heart pounding moments. I was on the edge of my seat throughout most of this read. Although I would not consider this a dark romance, there were times of gloom and doom that crushed me with dread and sadness.

A life for a life…

Elle was a somewhat strong heroine who grew more confident as the story progressed, but Logan stole the show for me. He was just the perfectly devoted, swoon-worthy knight in shining armor whose raw passion and dominance caused my heart to pitter-patter. He was so sweet and gentle as he put Elle’s needs before his own.

This series was a tense roller coaster ride and a good choice for fans of romantic suspense. I was totally consumed and pulled deeper and deeper within the storyline, falling in love with a cast of unforgettable characters. Another beautifully written, scorching hot romance from Author Kim Karr.

YOU GUYS!!!!!!!! OMGGGGGGGGG!!!! I thought BLOW was amazing but holy fantastic book, Batman!! CRUSH was PHENOMENAL. Logan and Elle's story only got better!!!! Yes, you HAVE to read book 1, BLOW, before starting this one. This second installment is a continuation of their story. :) This will be a completely spoiler-free review, just in case you’ve not read either books.

“Worry controlled me. Fear owned me. If knowledge was dangerous, this was deadly information.”

Elle was now in danger and Logan would stop at nothing to protect her…even if it meant staying away from her. The question was, though, could he really protect her? Even more so – was she the real target? The action, suspense, and mystery throughout this book kept me turning the pages at what seemed like not a fast enough speed. I needed my questions answered. I craved it. Kim Karr kept throwing curve balls our way that only spiked my curiosity even more.

I could not stop reading.

“Our hold was fierce. Warming. Loving. Forgiving. Comforting. And I hoped everlasting.”

Twist, turns, surprises, oh my!!! Logan and Elle’s story is one that will stay with me for a long time. BLOW made my top favorite reads of 2015 and so did CRUSH. Kim Karr cannot write a bad book to save her own life. This duet will keep you glued to your reading device from the very beginning to the very last page. FIVE STARS!

“I love you more than anything in this world.”

“Together or apart–you choose. There is no in-between.”

“Everything about the two of us was gasoline and a match. One touch and we were on fire. Ablaze. Flames out of control, unable to be doused.”

What an amazing follow up to Blow! Crush picks up right where the last book left off and let me tell you, there was never a dull moment. This story pulls you in from the very first page and will keep you guessing right up until the very last second. There were so many delicious twists and turns, I know I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see how it would all come together and play out. Some of the twists were completely unexpected and totally shocked me. And I loved every second of it!

Once again, Logan and Elle do not disappoint. Their chemistry is still just as scorching as it was in the last book. These two have come such a long way since we were first introduced to them. They are so much stronger. So much more determined to make things work out.

Crush was a fantastic read. It was well-written and entertaining. I devoured this book. I couldn’t read the pages fast enough. It was perfectly balanced and gave me everything that I was looking for. I would definitely recommend checking this book/series out!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. I wondered just how much pain and heartache Kim Karr was going to put Elle and Logan through even if they were not meant to be together in the end. But you never know what will happen when you are dealing with the mob, gangs, drug dealers, and addicts. And yes this story will have them all. This story is full of waiting for the drama to unfold. Just when you think you know who is behind all the drama, guess what? You are wrong, I thought it was a few people and in the end I was so wrong. I never guessed who it really was and was surprised in the end. Will Elle and Logan survive all this and be together in the end? Will they be able to protect each other? Will Elle find her sister? This story will leave you wondering what the hell did I just read and where can I find more of this awesome story? I love Kim Karr and her writing style pulls me in every time.

Brief Rundown
Crush starts where Blow left off. Our male and female lead are threatened and scared. As the mystery begins to unfold, will love win out or will the darkness of their pasts keep them apart?

What did I think about this read?
The first 25% of the book provided too much summary of book 1 for me. I found myself skipping paragraphs of events and musings I just read about in the first half of the story. I dislike skipping! Despite this, I liked this story and I was appropriately pleased with the ending.

When the book picks up, this read was as engaging as Blow was. Logan and Elle have the same intense chemistry and their story continues to be suspenseful and mysterious. This book has quite a bit of action, which I enjoyed and the steam factor was pretty good. Needless to say, you need to read this duet in order.

Rating Legend:
5 star-loved it
4 star-liked it
3 star-it was okay
2 star-didn't like it
1 star-hated it

I want to send a huge thank you out to Kim Karr for sending out these ARC's and writing such an amazing book. Logan and Elle are now two of my favorite fictional people and I can't tell you enough how much it means to be able to read and review this book and the series in general. I've has a blast reading them and have had a lot of fun with the few tweets back and forth of me professing my love for them hehe

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

I mean seriously, this book was so so good. I wasn't sure Kim Karr could outdo herself after the amazingness that was Blow, and yet... This book did that.

I have been going through a heck of a week, I mean everything that could go wrong lately has (My computer died on me, I have been battling a killer case of insomnia, and Thursday while I was driving on the interstate through construction my car died leaving me stranded on the side of I-75 in GA waiting for a tow truck to come. That was the worst and most scary probably) . And it really has taken a toll on me these past few days. But through all that I did happen to have one very good constant. I had Logan and Elle, and when I say they were a good distraction from my crazy reality I'm not lying.
See not sleeping leaves one with a lot of time for things. Like setting up a new computer 4 times because the one you bought either doesn't charge, or crashes every time you restart it. It also leaves you with a ton of time to contemplate every bad decision you've ever made in your life from the age 13 on. There are a lot of song lyrics involved in that one for some reason hehe.
But the best thing not sleeping left me with was... a whole lot of reading time. (And review time apparently, because its already 2:30 AM and I'm only just now beginning to start yawning while I type.)

So pretty much long story short. I had a lot of free time to read and I filled it with a couple good books. I've had a bit of a lull between the November and December ARC's I've had to get read, and got some free book time (First time in a while that's happened). So after finishing Kristen Callihan newest Game On series book The Game Plan, I jumped right into my copy of Crush. which just s happen to break me into a new round of ARC's.
I mean I have been dying to get my hands all over this book in general, so you can bet it was a top priority to get started.

I fell in love with Kim's characters Logan and Elle, and was waiting very impatiently I might add, to find out what was going to happen to them.

description

This book, much like Blow was a whole crazy train of suspense and intrigue. Some new players were added to the insane world Kim created, and aided to thicken the plot to banana pudding proportions. It seriously left me guessing the whole time, and let me tell you... Once I make a guess about a book, I'm not typically far off. I joke about it being my "book mojo" and this is one of only 3 or so books that's proved my bookish super power wrong. (Usually the only person who's been able to do this is the author I'm best friends with and PA for. And most of the time I get it wrong because I tell her my theories and she purposely changes things to screw with me. We really have a way of showing the love huh? lol)
But I will say I like books that can leave me like this. I really do try not to guess because I think it can take away from the experience of the book, but I had fun attempting to figure this book out. Even if I wound up being wrong in the end. (Oh and just so you know... I felt good about my guess. I mean it was something no one would have expected and would have blown everyone's minds. Although now that I think about it, those sound like good reasons to show why I was probably wrong hehe. What can I say I like thinking out of the box. (And in this case, so far out of the box I couldn't see the box apparently haha)

And something I was all too excited to see in this book were some familiar faces. And this is actually kinda funny, because if you remember my review to Blow you know that it took me a while to realize that this series is a spin off of Kim's book Toxic. I had this sort of mind blowing epiphany moment when I realized it, and was pulling open a copy of Toxic to start comparing things all over again.
So knowing full well what I was getting into now I was waiting to see who all I might spot. And I spotted all right. But I'm mean so I wont say whole I spotted and just let you figure that all out when you go read the book for yourself.

description

So lets get down to the good stuff shall we?
There were a lot of reasons why I liked this book so much. Firstly it is just written extremely well. Kim has this way of creating stories and characters that really pull you in from the start. And this book did just that. Although really after the way Blow ended you would have had to take drastic measures to keep me from this one.
Something else that I really enjoyed about this book was the suspense. Like I sort of talked about earlier, this book left me guessing the whole time. Kim did such a good job at keeping the readers in the dark and detracting us with smaller things throughout the book. There were so many different things going on at once and it spun this beautifully elaborate story. As soon as one problem would be resolved another would occur.

There's another that I really liked about this book but I'm going to save it for a few and talk about characters first. (Because they are a big part of why I fell for this book the way I did)
I'm sure you know if you followed my Blow review, I fell in love with Logan. He is an amazing character and the chemistry between him and Elle was like a firework going off. But something that I found I liked the most about these two was that they both kind of broken when they found each other. Elle had some serious issues to work out from her childhood and Logan was dealing with some nasty demons from his youth as well. (Ya ya ya I know you're looking at me like I'm crazy for liking that about them. But let me explain myself better.)
Sometimes when two broken people come together they can sort of make a whole with the broken pieces and it works. They find what they need in the other and are happy. But in this case, while that does happen. Logan and Elle also help each other to heal those broken pieces on top of blending them together. They both understand the others hang ups and worries and work to mend them and make each other stronger. I love characters that can do that for each other.Where you just know that they are meant to be in every way possible. No matter what has happened to them or will happen to them as they go through their lives.

description

So let me break down these two now for you.
I'll start with Elle.
So I tend to have a bad habit of not really liking most female characters I read. (I don't know why I just get overly judgy with them most of the time)
But I really did like Elle in this series. She's been through a lot in her life, and has been on her own for quite a while.
So when she settles in Boston to help find her missing sister and take care of her baby niece, it gives her purpose, and someone to finally form a link to keep her there.
I really liked how compassionate Elle was for her niece Clementine. Like I said, she drops everything to come help her brother in law with her and as a person who's extremely close to my niece and two nephews I guess it was a way for me to connect to Elle.
But something that really stuck with me is how vulnerable she is. She hides behind her rules when it comes to being close with men, and Elle is great at fending for herself. But when she really lets her true self out there, you see the girl that has been on her own for so long and is scared to let anyone close to her. And I like the balance that all of that makes. It lets you see Elle in a deeper dimension, and I am all about my multi dimensional characters.
It makes her more real.
Something else that I really liked (I can already see the eye rolls coming people) is how strong Elle is too. I mean this girl goes through a ton after moving to Boston. People after her sister, threats against her niece, threats against her, threats against Logan... Other things I can't say without getting spoilery.
And yes, I know you just rolled your eyes because, Kayla... How can a character be vulnerable yatta yatta and be strong? Well, they can because they are both in different ways. Elle struggles when it comes to intimacy or being cared for, but she is also very concrete, someone who will do what she needs to to survive and protect the people around her.
And to be pretty honest Elle is pretty much a bad@$$. Like I previously stated. I can't give you much detail because I really don't want to ruin the book for you. But some events happen that shows how determined and head strong our girl is,and I was quite empresses by her.

So now lets move to my honey Logan.
As far as book boyfriends go, he makes my top 100 list (And there are 100's so that's a pretty high ranking)
He is this incredibly sweet guy that went through a lot growing up. His family is a bit eccentric???
But Logan is a very closed off guy too. And he has his reasons. If you read Blow you know what I'm talking about. So seeing him finally open up to someone like Elle brought out the warm and fuzzies.
I think something Kim did well with him in this book was push his character.Logan finally has the think that can bring him pure happiness, but he has to almost prove to himself that he deserves her.
He also has to be Elle's protector. Not because she can't defend herself, but because protecting her gives him a purpose, and allows him to make up for his past.
Something else about Logan I liked seeing in this book was his compassion. Logan is extremely close to his ex-mob boss grandfather Killian and I have to say I pretty much adored their relationship. Killian is the one who taught Logan some of the most important things in his life, and I really enjoyed his visits with the old guy. You could just tell that every time he talked about or to Killian it made him happy and also gave him the smarts to do what he needed to protect Elle and bring him closer to possibly taking down the whole Irish Mob and more importantly the player in town The Priest. Another way I think Logan showed this compassionate side was how sweet he was to Elle. She confesses something pretty big to him in this book that she thinks will completely wreck any future they have together, and he listens to what she has to say and then makes a decision I'm not sure many would choose.
And even after all of that, Logan becomes this rock to everyone around him. He's the driving force behind the group of misfits that's been put together to search for all these threats and hopefully take down the bad guys.
While he does sort of lose his $hit in a few places because of events that take place he manages to pull himself out of it with the help of Elle and his now friends.
He's just one of those characters that I admire for a lot of reasons and that I think is so well written you can just picture him and his story really happening.
When we originally met him in Toxic he was this sort of mystery. The quite one who split his time between NYC and Boston and wouldn't give his friends much info on what was going on. And by the End of Crush we see him actually opening up to people. Making decisions for himself and for what he wants, rather than just following down a path that was set out in front of him by someone else.
Logan's greatest accomplishment through the whole series is finding his own voice. Deciding to do what he wants and not was either of his grandparents, the crazy son to the Irish mob boss, or his own demons want him to do.
I think showing that growth in him is an important part to the story. And really defines him in the end.

And speaking of endings. This was that other thing I said I would come back too.
The ending of this book was absolutely perfect. I mean it was so perfect in fact that my eyes even glassed over a bit after reading it.
It just made me so happy and so fulfilled reading an ending like the one Kim wrote for this book.
Maybe it's the sap in me or just the fact that I'm still waiting for my prince charming to find me, but seeing things turn out the way they did in this one just left me with this incredibly warm feeling. One that makes you stop after the last word is read, and just take a deep breath and process it all.
If I really let myself I'm sure I would have had a major book hangover after reading this one, but I had to jump right into another book so that didn't happen.
But be warned this book can do that to you. It will leave you with all these emotions and feelings when you finish and you will just have to sit back and let it all sink in. Then you close your Ereader and smile because you just finished this incredible book that takes you on a whirlwind journey and you need time to appreciate all it had to give.

Crush is without a doubt on my Kim Karr favorites list. I adore all her books, but this series just really sucked me in and I think it may be my favorite so far that she has written. No telling if that will be true as she writes more amazing books, but I look forward to what she has planned, and sincerely hope you check out The Tainted Love Duet Series and any/all of Kim's other books. You won't be disappointed :D

I give Crush: *****5 Stars*****

This is the conclusion of Logan and Elle's story and begins right after the climactic ending in Blow. They are dealing with the multiple possible threats, issues, and are worried about their safety. They are in the midst of the fall out from various situations. Logan is trying to figure out what is best for Elle and how to most effectively protect her. Elle is dealing with her constantly changing world and worries about those she cares about. It is hard to know who to trust, who the real enemy is, and what they really want.

There are mysteries, secrets, lies, and threats swirling around them. They are immersed in a dangerous world with many variables in play. Not only do they have to protect themselves, but also her young niece who could get caught in the crossfire.

It's a race for answers and to try to put together all of the puzzle pieces so they can figure out who is behind everything and how it all fits together. And then to try to figure out a way to end the threats and bring down the antagonists.

This book had me guessing trying to put it all together and predict the outcome. But I have to say there were some definite twists and surprises. I was shocked by some events and was wrong about some things. There are so many little connections from the past spilling onto the present as well as multiple parties involved. It was full of tension, danger, and suspense.

But at the core of this story is a couple that are broken as individuals, but together have the potential to make each other whole. They have personal demons to face, have to continue to build trust, and deal with some challenging situations. Two people who used to not believe in attachments find themselves desperate to be together, but are afraid that it might never happen or that the possible repercussions might carry too high a price.

Logan is strong, fiercely protective, and possessive. But he is also scared his mistakes will hurt Elle, so has feelings of guilt and wonders if she would be better off without him. He is intelligent, successful, and also street smart. He is alpha on the outside, but a bit broken on the inside. He has a strong need to be in control and unfortunately his life seems to keep spinning farther out of control. He has made mistakes with far reaching consequences. No matter how far he tries to get ahead of it, his past still seems to catch up with him and affect his present.

Elle is tough, smart, independent and loving. She is not afraid to fight for her happiness, but she is also not immune to doubts and fears. She will do anything to protect her niece no matter the sacrifice to herself.

I totally adored Logan and thought Elle was a really likable heroine. Their emotional connection was strong, their chemistry was intense, and their passion was undeniable. I was totally invested in their relationship. They had a give and take about them that was put to the test as they both dealt with challenging or emotional situations and threats. It was about priorities, faith, hope, and figuring out where they were supposed to be and believing they deserved to have what they wanted. But it was an uphill battle not only with their own personal demons but also with all of the outside influences and hidden threats against them.

I liked the side characters of their friends Declan, Miles, Peyton, and also Logan's father and Grandfather. There were some antagonists and shifty characters that were hard to pin down. And there were a a bunch of potentials for who was threatening them. It was fun trying to put all the pieces together and figure out the motivations and what was really going on.

Kim Karr managed to weave a complex, exciting, full, romantic suspense story into these two books. It was multi-layered and had many little connections past and present. It was told in dual points of view that I really appreciated. The characters had depth, complex emotions, flaws, and were likable and passionate, The story line was fast moving despite the intricate details and layers. It was a beautiful and steamy love story layered with mysteries and exciting danger and suspense. I really enjoyed this series and this intense journey with Logan and Elle. This tied up everything I needed it to and even had an extended epilogue.

I was gifted a copy in exchange for an honest review.

~*~ 4.5 STARS ~*~

WOW! What a RIDE! Kim Karr shattered our hearts only to skillfully put them back together again. BLOW & CRUSH was a sexy and suspenseful treat to every one of my senses. When it showed up on my iPad I was afraid to start it, knowing that once I finished that would be it! I wanted to savor it, relish it, put it on the shelf and just stare at it for hours. But alas, I realized I have absolutely NO patience whatsoever, so I finally picked it up and devoured the whole thing in one night. Are you kidding me? There was NO WAY I was taking a break, or a breath, or anything else for that matter. Once you start, there is no going back. I NEEDED to know what happened in the end. I craved it like a big fat piece of chocolate cake! No matter what genre, Kim Karr gives her readers what she wants, and in her Tainted Love Duet, she nailed it, giving us tons of suspense, and a romance that reaches no bounds.

Logan McPherson and Elle Sterling has been through SO much. They weren't expecting each other, but fate brought them together just to tear them apart. Now, the chase is on, and we find out how deep their love and passion truly go. This red-hot, action packed romance was thrilling, exciting, and in the end, truly beautiful. Ms. Karr did her characters right. The journey was tough, but well worth it in the end. Mobs, drug rings, and certain death try to keep them apart, but fate has its own plan. The connection is real. The danger is real. In the end, we find out that love really DOES conquer all.

Kim Karr brings sexy back with Logan McPherson. She gives us a female lead that we can cheer for in Elle Sterling. Together, or apart, these characters found their place in my heart. Amazing storytelling and sexy scenes is what I come to expect with this author, and in this series, she gives me that and so much more.

The wild ride continues…..

After I read BLOW, I was left wanting and NEEDING more and CRUSH delivers.

The saga between Logan and Elle continues and comes to a conclusion.

“Logan was everything I needed in my life and nothing I’d known I was looking for”

There is so much drama in their lives. Between the current issues with the MOB and the past
coming to haunt them.

With the murder, kidnapping, suicide, incarceration, drugging, drugs, sex there isn’t much more
that I can say about this story without giving anything away.

I was left, sitting on the edge of my seat, many times wondering what was going to happen next. I screamed when I needed to go to an appointment right when I was at the part of the black roses. I had to stop right there…wanting to know what was going to happen next. Trust me, when you get to that part, you will know what I am talking about. You won’t want to put it down.

I love this series. The storyline is filled with a super-hot romance all along with a HUGE mystery as to who did it, and who was going to do it next.

“It was then I realized in our relationship we didn’t need a dominant or a submissive. We only need each other”

Get ready for WILD RIDE and make sure you block out time so you aren’t disturbed… you won’t want to put it down!

Yes, I was biting my nails especially towards the last 25% of this book!  I was afraid to see what was going to happen...

Read this book to find out because you must know if Logan can help keep Elle safe & if he survives.

I’m on a high… a Tainted Love high. I sit writing this review amped up from an adrenaline rush still flowing through my veins after finishing Crush by Kim Karr, that’s how intense this reading experience is. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of Crush in exchange for an honest review and I can’t tell you how happy I was not to have to wait any extra days for this story to show up on my kindle!

All I could do was stare at her. She was broken, but not in the way she thought. Actually, I preferred to think she was bent and I could straighten her out the way she was doing it to me.

Logan McPherson is explanation enough to read this duet set. If you’ve already read Blow then you know the alpha awesomeness that is Logan and he only gets better and better as the story plays out in Crush. Or as Elle describes him: dauntless, fearless, strong, confident sexy, powerful, and a warrior. Her descriptions of him show clearly she’s enamored with him and despite his lack of experience in the romance department he does damn good in showing Elle how much she means to him in words and action.

But as soon as I left the room, left him, the whole in my heart told me I didn’t hate him. Instead, it told me I would love him forever.

Elle Sterling embodies power and love. Somehow despite not having much love in her life so far she has a heart of gold. She’s living her life now with goals in mind driven by love: to keep Clementine safe, both emotionally and physically while knowing that Logan is a love she wants in her life forever. She’s in a tough spot, not knowing who to trust or what the right moves are but her instincts tell her she’s got nothing to worry about when it comes to her dauntless warrior. I love Elle as a character. She is strong and caring and evolves beautifully within the story.

Sure, there were times I’d watch romantic comedies and get that little high that comes with happy endings, read chick lit for the sheer pleasure of smiling, and once I think I might have thought the idea of ice-skating in Central Park while holding someone’s hand could be fun, but it all honesty that was as far as my romantic thoughts had ever gone.

Until now.

Wisdom and love comes from an unlikely source within Blow and Crush; An Irish mob boss, a killer, a ruthless man… a caring grandfather, a loving widower, and a guiding influence. These conflicting descriptions depict one man who through this story you can not help but wish he was a part of your own family; wish that he was taking you to ball games or the track as a child. I wished it, hard and even shed a few tears in storylines that involved Logan’s grandfather, Killian McPherson.

Obviously with Kim Karr at the reins this is a story of romance but we also have an ‘edge of your seat’ suspense element to go along with the romance. While reading my mind was thinking about conspiracy theories galore! I was pointing fingers and wracking my brain trying to figure out who was behind all this underground mob drama. I would think I had it figured out and then the rug would be pulled out from beneath me. Then I would come up with a crazy idea, knowing the chances were great that I was way off the mark and of course I still hadn’t hit the nail on the head. I think I figured it out right before Elle did (and not all of the parts either) and by that point the clues were numerous so this isn’t something I can really brag about to you. Mrs. Karr was successful in leaving me stupefied by the plot and by her talent. The bad guys are hefty in numbers and it was a task to pick the right one within the line up. I tried to read while simultaneously cleaning my house; read a chapter then do the laundry, read a chapter then vacuum the floors but by the time I got to the last 30% of the book my house work was abandoned. Logan and Elle needed me and I couldn’t leave them to wash the dishes!

Now let’s talk about sex. Crush is in no way lacking in this department. Elle and Logan have great chemistry that is powered by a deep love for one another. Their courtship is quick but in the intense situation they are in, it makes sense and it feels like these two were meant to find each other; like there is no one else in the world they could find what the other needed in anyone else. Elle comes a long way in her sexual trust in Logan and it’s powerful to watch him help her conquer her demons. The scenes are scorching hot but also loving, tender, and a sexy form of communication for both our leading hopefuls. You can feel their love with each kiss, each time they make love or fuck, and each uttered bedroom talk to one another (both in the heat of passion and also pillow talk).

Wise men say women can be thoroughly fucked. Well, I now know guys can be too.

Crush was perfect and it blew away my expectations! I fell in love with the characters of this story; leads and support. The crime and mob elements left me submersed in a world I could only read about and the suspense had me hanging on to each and every one of Kim Karr’s written words. She paints of clear picture of life on the streets and also the location of Boston that truly makes you feel like you are in another world, instead of curled up with your Ereader. I’ve already recommended this set of books to people having only read Blow and now that I have the conclusion with Crush, you better believe I’ll be screaming it from the rooftops.

If oblivion was a place we could go, he took me there.

This was an okay read. I liked the first book. However, this one was too long. Elle and Logan are dealing with some big issues and their relationship is rocky at times too. The few good things is that I got some answers and they got a happy ending.

Book 1 was a 3 star read for me....I liked it, didn't love it. This book started off right where we ended in Book 1, and I was interested to see where we went because ultimately I did like Elle and Logan. However, this book didn't go any where. It was so much re-telling of stories and issues from Book 1, and just dragging on and on. This book was just okay...I skimmed alot and just wanted to get it over with.

Crush picks up right where the first book in the duet, Blow, left us hanging in suspense.
The dangerous journey Elle and Logan had been thrown into is just beginning.
They have to face the threats that are imposing on their lives, their futures, and their loved ones.

"if he didn't succeed in finding and stopping Tommy, he was going to leave me in order to save me. And crush my heart."

Logan was willing to stay away from Elle and break her heart in order to keep her safe.
At least until he could get to the bottom of the mob chaos and finish it once and for all.
But Elle didn’t give up on him or on them so easily. She was determined to stay with Logan. She knew they were strongest and safer together.
This couple had much wilder obstacles to push through than the average lovers.

There were a lot of sexy moments that came in at the exact right moments. They showed the deep, intense passion Elle and Logan shared for one another.
The connection between them was palpable and despite the initial insta-love they had in book one, the chemistry was believable.

The epilogue was so sappy sweet and contrasted the rest of the novel in the most beautiful way possible.
This story is quick and fast paced. You definitely want to pay attention to every detail in this book so you can get the “ah ha” moment when everything is revealed. There is so much content in this book to keep you intrigued from start to finish. Lots of twists and turns that will shock you and make for a solid, complex story.

If you’re looking for a suspenseful read filled with danger, intrigue, and love, look no further than the Tainted Love Duet.

Crush is one amazing ride of mystery, suspense, and love. After the ending of Blow I needed Crush ASAP. I needed to see where Elle and Logan's story went and who was behind everything going on.

Crush starts up right where Blow ended, and Logan is doing everything he can to keep Elle safe, even if that means leaving her to protect her. Throughout this story we really get to see how truly in love Logan and Elle have fallen, and everything they would do to keep each other safe.

There is so much that happens in this book, that it makes everything we went through in Blow seem like small potatoes. This is a story that is extremely fast paced, and very detailed. I was on pins and needles trying to figure out who was behind everything that was happening to Elle, her sister, and Logan. Every time I thought I figured out who was behind it, I was thrown for another loop and to say I was shocked when it all came out is an understatement.

Not only is this book full of suspense and twists and turns, we also get to see Logan and Elle work through their relationship. Their time alone always happened in a part of the book that you needed a break from all the WTF moments, and was perfect and extremely sexy. These two belong to one another, and I loved seeing them move their relationship forward. Things were not easy for them, but I loved how things turned out for Logan and Elle. The epilogue of this book was unlike anything else in the book, and gave me the warm and fuzzies, which is not how rest of the book was!

So much happens in this book that I just can't write about because it would majorly spoil the story for anyone who has yet to read it. I will say though, I laughed, I cried, I was angry, and I was thrown for so many loops while reading Crush, and I loved each and every minute of it. This duet is a beautifully written romantic suspense that is perfect for anyone looking for something different to read. Kim Karr writes a story that will have you second guessing everyone and everything.

We are thrown back int the whirlwind of Logan and Elle's love life. Elle has been threatened by Logan's nemesis and Logan will do anything to protect her while also battling the mob, drug rings and death itself so they can remain together. But maybe this time the only way for them both to be safe is to walk away....does true love really conquer all?

"Was everything that was falling apart around us fate telling me I should have known better than to think we could belong to each other?"

You must read Blow before this as it picks up straight from the ending of Blow. We don't get a second to breathe and are thrown straight back into this raw, passionate, suspenseful and sexy story of Logan and Elle. Logan still remains the protective, strong, dangerous and sexy man we came to love in Blow. And Elle is a female lead we cheer for; she's determined, brave, and loves with a fierceness that makes you believe it will never die.

"In that moment there was nothing more I wanted than to feel her arms around me, press my body to hers, look into her eyes and tell her we were going to be just fine. But that would be a lie."

There's passion, suspense, drama, sex, love, sadness...everything you need to make this a read that you won't be able to put down. Not only do Logan and Elle have to battle wars created in Blow but more obstacles are thrown their way that could cripple the relationship that both of them so desperately want and deserve.

"Somewhere deep in the fiery pit of my soul, I doubted it was really her. I feared that because I was a sinner, my punishment was going to be losing her. Absolution. Redemption. I vowed to seek both."

Kim creates a world that is extreme and yet believable at the same time. She has created characters who burrow themselves into your heart until you feel their pain and their love. The plot doesn't let you take a breathe until the very last page and even then you will be left wanting more.

This is the the concluding part to the Tainted Love Duet…

Holy...Moly….how to review this book????

Its raw, edgy and even though I wanted to savour every word on every page I couldn’t read and turn the pages quick enough as I wanted...Hell no...NEEDED...to find out how this story was to pan out.

Kim really left no stone unturned in getting to the bottom of the mystery set upon us in Blow, she has added further elements to the story which had me on tenterhooks throughout, thus strengthening the plot further and as a reader dragging you into the story.

The deep connection between Logan and Elle is just amazing, I don't think two characters have ever seemed so right for each other and the strength of their characters keeps you reading and routing for them to find peace with the events bestowed upon them.

I was literally on the edge of my seat whilst reading, the writing style really hooks you to the story, it's romantic, sexy and suspenseful and I loved how I kept changing my mind to who the “villain” of the story was and I was surprised at the outcome.

There is much more to this book than boy meets girl, Kim has managed to marry, the mystery along with some powerful erotic scenes and some sweet yet not too sappy romantic scenes and its combination blew me away as finding a good original well written and executed book in this genre is difficult.

This book is for the readers who want more than some shallow sex scenes and an unplanned pregnancy, it's jam packed full of intensity, love, family and contains great fiction and real life issues.

The book will have your heart beating faster, one for the sexy aspects and two for the dramatic climax to the story. Hands down this is my favourite series this year.

So, I'm a little torn on this one because I really loved the ending. I felt like the last 40% of the book was great. I guess, since it's the "most wonderful time of the year," I'll be generous and give it four stars.

Why the need for generosity? Well...why, f' why, do authors feel the need to have the characters constantly reiterate their feelings? I'm not an idiot, I do not need to re-read shit multiple times to grasp how soothing a touch is, or how much you love the man. Just because they change the wording a bit, does not make this practice acceptable to me. Yet, so many authors feel the need to do this, and it is beyond annoying.

For example:

"My fingers were shaking and I think Logan knew how nervous I was, because he moved behind me and placed his warm hands on my shoulders. This helped calm my nerves..."

"I nodded and put my hand on his knee. Just touching him made me feel so much better."

"Logan placed his hand over mine, as if in reassurance that he’d make everything okay."

"Logan’s touch had already started to settle my nerves and this finished the deal."

Are you f'n serious?!?!? All these sentences are in the same damn chapter; some, only a couple sentences separating them. I felt like the whole beginning of the book was the author using Elle's POV to reassure me over and over that Logan was the one. Prior to that, I was told constantly that Elle or Logan normally didn't do or feel a certain way, but how with each other, something was different. I got it the first time I freakin read their feelings.

However, once I got past that, the story was alright. I do love Logan and his willingness to accept his life for what it is, try to be better, and truly love Elle.
