This is an excellent book, explaining with clarity and humor exactly why we feel stress and what we can do about it. The bulk of the text is devoted to instilling a new mindset and approach to life that will prevent stress at its source, rather than just trying to deal with it once it's already there. The following section is a compact meditation course. At the end is a summary of meditation research with references to nearly a hundred different studies and describing it's many benefits to physical and mental health. Highly recommended!
This is a highly readable self help book with many true stories from the authors’ Clarity Seminars. It is freeing to know we can stop in the middle of a stressful situation at any time, step back, and choose how we want to respond, as if we were watching a movie. We become an observer. This healthy distance is also known as non-attachment or disengagement. In addition, this book covers accepting what is instead of trying to change other people or the world to fit our expectations of what should be. There is also a section on meditation.
This is one of the best books I have ever read regarding this topic. Very interesting sides of view, The book describes why we feel stressed and how we can take advantage of those feelings. It teaches you how not to blame others for those stressful situations and the feelings stress can create, but rather how you can stop feeling stressed. I was amassed how a different side of view turned things around. Excellent read!
