Kirino seems far out of the way, studying in America...but is he really that far away from the thoughts of Kyousuke? That's the problem on Kuroneko's mind, who's glad to be by Kyousuke's side, but fears she may only be a substitute. Adding to the OVA Specials

Oreimo Kuroneko is a continuation of the OVA in manga form. Except the manga does it better with more details and more character development of fan favorite character Kuroneko. As seen in the game research club competition you see more.of the characters passion that was cut from the manga. Making for a heart warming tale of the Otaku lifestyle. The art is also great the cat ears added to Kuroneko in certain panels were adorable. Fair warning it also has can service panels of the characters which can be off putting to people. Despite that it's still a great story that does it better than the anime.

I’m not sure if I’ve missed the main series, but I’m still not quite sure what the plot for this series is…

The only relevant club at their school is the game club, so Kuroneko and Kyousue join it. This volume adds several new characters.

Dark Horse Version. Some confusing dialogue caused by offscreen actors speaking and quasi-references abound made this a quick yet headscratching read. Art can look terrible with very spartan backgrounds but certain facial expressions are better developed than most manga and the cute factor is high. I really have no clue how one can find Kuroneko less grating than Kirino, she has impossibly high standards and aloofness comes off as conscious.

In the future, when I grab a manga to read while waiting at the Hair Cuttery, I should probably flip through it first.
