The author and illustrator, Pat Davis, is a product of St. Louis, Missouri, where she taught primary grades for thirty years, emphasizing science and languaage. She has been a member of the Eastern Missouri Paleontology Society, the Planetary Society and the Missouri Botanical Garden.
