Back with issue 2, and I can't say it gets much better.
The action tropes and the stereotypical figure of the underdog can be kind of fun here and there, but everything that I complained about in the first issue still holds.
And, you know, I have to say this is not great at all when it comes to world building, as it basically used a little introduction in the cover of the first issue to explain the whole society dynamics? Certainly not how these things should be done, but I guess you can't expect much more for a 4-issue series...
My sister Michelle worked for Comics Experience as Operations Manager and she was kind enough to send 3 volumes of Gutter Magic to me in Japan! I love the details and fashion of this alternate reality.
